Just got Bela in hand! No joke the best likeness I’ve seen in this scale! I had the diamond select Dracula on my shelf for too long and he is ready for retirement!

Fantastic, Carlos! It's great we collectors finally got the ultimate Bela figure after all these years. Yep, retire that Diamond Select Dracula for Bela's well-deserved spot on the shelf!

The second head is my favorite, it looks the closest to the movie Dracula. I love the Universal Monsters and Hammer Monsters. The classic gothic horror look, stories, and characters are entertaining and it's so cool to be able to have a piece of this in our homes. I don't know if you like model kits but the I also like the old models kits of monsters by Moebius. You can put them together, customize them and I think they would go great with these figures by NECA. Great review.

Thanks for watching the video, Robert! Yeah, I love both Universal and Hammer, too. I know NECA acquired the license to do Hammer figures, so let's hope they get to those next. I'd love a Christopher Lee Dracula and Frankenstein, Peter Cushing Van Helsing and Dr. Frankenstein, and Oliver Reed from "Curse of the Werewolf"! I don't own any Moebius model kits, but I know they look spectacular!

The Mego Lugosi is really nice too!

Well done, no doubt. They couldn't do it in Bela's likeness, though, so I didn't pick it up.

Love your Universal Monster reviews Tim. I am a big collector of these toys and figures and a lifetime fan of the pictures. These Neca figures in particular are very nice and I also hope they keep expanding the figures in this line. Thank you for your time in making these videos.

Thank you so much, Jim! I've collected Monster Movie toys from several companies and without hesitation I'd say these are the cream of the crop. Just stunning work by NECA. So glad they got the license to do these. For sure they'll be expanding the line throughout 2023. I'll be reviewing their Universal Monsters Invisible Man next, and the Bride of Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon and Phantom of the Opera are on the way! It should not be possible to capture Bela’s appearance so strongly as this figure does. I mean 1 Bela’s real face and eyes 2 Bela’s image as recorded on film. 3 a Bela’s image on this Neca figure and 3 b Bela as depicted by El Garing in the hard cover graphic novel by Legendary publishers. This is great!!

Absolutely! NECA's most impressive work yet. They have amazing sculptors who managed to not only hit it out of the park on just one of the sculpts, but all three! Great stuff!

@@TimLammersFilms Let me also say from the 8 minute mark, when you have all 5 figures, you have layered the shot from foreground to background really well. From front to back you made it easy for the eye to travel.

This NECA line has been excellent. I've been getting the B&W versions. I may pick up this Transylvania version...that touch of red on the ribbon around the his neck looks pretty cool. Thanks for the great look!

I'm okay with the way it is, but different companies definitely have different approaches. Mego's original release had the grey interior then released another with red, while Jada Toys' more generic Dracula had the red interior while Jada Next Level's Lugosi cape was grey inside. Ultimately I happy to have any Lugosi figure no matter how the cape is detailed!

If I remember rightly, in the original Universal Dracula Lugosi never showed fangs.

A superb review Tim, thank you so much! I love how you have The Mummy's arms covering his ugly diaphragm joint - that's the one thing which has really bothered me about these figures. To me it's such an eyesore and was completely unnecessary. The Mummy is the last character who would need that joint and they didn't even bother trying to make it blend in with his wrappings. I was so dissapointed with that decision and have not purchased him yet because of it. ...So strange that they didn't give someone like The Wolfman a diaphragm cut but they did The Mummy! Truly baffled by that because it really ruins a great sculpt imo. Speaking of The Wolfman, did you darken his face a little with a blackwash or anything?? He looks much better in your pics than others! Can't wait to see The Creature and Phantom and hoping for a Werewolf Of London too! Also, am really keen on seeing their Hammer line soon!

I'm sure there's a reasoning behind the diaphragm joint, but it's never really bothered me. I'm just thrilled to have these figures! I'm sure if you picked him up you'd still love the figure! As for the Wolf Man, didn't do anything to alter the coloring ... I did the video in natural light, so maybe that had something to do with it. I can't wait for the others, too, especially Hammer! More than anything an Oliver Reed Curse of the Werewolf! Again, thanks for watching! More to come!
