yes cast iron works better, one point i want to add in this is diameter of plate see 10 kgs pvc and 10kgs Steel diameter, 2.5 , 5, 1 kg steel plates can be used to make adjustable dumbbell also

How about pure rubber weights instead of pvc? Cast iron weights are not readily available currently. All i can find is pure rubber weights which are being sold 40rs per kg or rubber coated iron plates for 120 per kg. Should i wait for cast iron or go for pure rubber

Dear Ankur..Olympic rods are costly and with around 50 to 51 mm dia mostly.U need to purchase rods according to dia of plates you have got.Small plates will not fit into olympic rods Rgrds

Yes Nitin Olympic Plates and Rods both are costly so agar aap home gym ke consideration se le rahe ho to normal weight plates n rods are best suited with 25 to 28mm inner dia.

Ankur mai standard rods he use karta hu of dia 25 to 28mm. Aur standard rods bhi kafi sahi perform karti h aur home gym ke liye best suited h with much lesser price compared to Olympic ones.
