@@RaPtOrScOpE1 tbh, i really really like Razer's Upgrade PBT keycap set. It's like $25-30 bucks and it has a very nice texture. Very thick walls. Shine-through is pretty good (depends on which color you choose too). There's obviously better out there but not at that price. I'm assuming you're a gamer? They're on my daily productivity keyboard and I enjoy it no lie. My only thing is.... I have the white, black, and pink models and 2 of the 3 sets came with warped spacebars -_- . you can definitely fix it (or keep exchanging it lol) if you're willing to do a little bit of work. Lots of tutorials online. But yeah, overall I still enjoy it for the price and think it's good quality for $30 believe it or not. Also, you're welcome and let me know if you have any more questions. I'm here for you. :)

I bought this keyboard, added dampening foam between the mounting plate and the PCB as well as foam between the PCB and the Chassis or case. I lubed every switch as well as the stabilizers. After lubricating I added switch films to the switches and mounting plate dampening films. O-Rings under the key caps. It now sound PERFECT.

Finaly a good review/unboxing from this keyboard thnx alot!! I gonna buy this one but fitst i wanna now what the sound was from this keyboard thanks for this great video😊

Got one of these for my wife. Great little keyboard too bough loud as hell like I find in this video. Did a foam mod inside, swapped to XDA profile sublimated keycaps with triple o-rings for the least travel needed to actuate since the bottoming out bothered her wrists and also packed the space bar either layers of painters tape to take the hollowness out of it somewhat. Now it’s fantastic and almost makes me want to get one to do the same

So for $60 it seems pretty affordable for most budgets. Personally I'd want the Black one but that's just me. My only turn off would be that it doesn't have and adjustable stands. Overall good review, wonder what's next?

It was my fault because I switched the color and switches but the name said Gateron browns and color black, but it still let me change the switch and color. So I thought I was receiving a white gk61 with blacks switches but I didn't. Thanks to your link I found the right keyboard with the right color and switch!

This is a really great video, I have the GK61 with gateron reds, and the only thing I'm looking for now is the keycaps. Thinking about Razers pbt ones, because theyre reliable and very well reviewed, but not sure if i should instead go for one of those 'custom' keycap sets that have different colours and different profiles... not sure. have you used/ do u recommend any of the different type of keycap profile, and do u recommend the razer ones? Sorry theres a lot here lol

Hey thank you for your comment. In one of my recent videos, i did a custom build with the razer PBT upgrade set and I enjoyed them. I bought a few sets and a couple of the space bars were warped a bit but you can easily straighten it out. Other than that (which sucks), they are REALLY good keycaps. It's way different than other keycaps through it's texture. I love the texture. It's really gritty and grippy. The walls are also very thick. They're definitely really good keycaps for the money and I do recommend them overall! I think they're an excellent choice for the GK61.

And it feels premium doesn't bend but I guess you were right I got the upgraded version of it it does not come with glossy sides and keycaps. It has a kind of rough texture on the surface I am happy with my purchase. This is my first mechanical board and it's kind of new for me but I will adapt. thanks. :)

i got it with the yellow switches and so far 'm liking it, the yellow switches are a bit to loud but its better when u place the keyboard on a desk pad which makes the sound little quieter and more satisfying.

@@xponentii2889 If you primarily game on it, I would suggest linears. Reds if you're starting out, silvers if you're a serious gamer, and yellow if you're really good and you're trying to go all out for gaming performance. That's my take on it anyway. :)

i got the mechanical browns off amazon for 80 bucks, stabilizers are one of the best ive seen and are pre lubed PROPERLY. the lighting modes are awesome and the reaction time of the keys is awesome. sound and feel is great and many options are available. i typed this up on my gk61. its awesome and an absolute STEAL, literally got it in 3 days..

kinda confusing because a lot of different brands have a different version of the GK61 with minor difference like keycaps, stabs, etc. Not surprised there's one out there with PBT. definitely prefer PBT keycaps in this price range too if you can get this board with it !

I have a $200 GK61 :) I only spent $50 on the keyboard, but another $150 upgrading it to be better than any Ducky or other higher end prebuilt. This is what I added... genuine cherry plate mount stabs (as the included OEM stabs are garbage), Razer PBT shine through keycaps, 70 pack each of Gateron optical yellow, red and black, as I got it with brown, but have stuck with the black switches. Then I bought foam to fill the big hollow gap under the board, dielectric grease for the new stabs, and Krytox 205 g0 to lube the switches. The end result is literally the smoothest and best sounding/feeling keyboard I have ever had in my life. I would have paid 300-400 for this experience, it's that good.

I also love black switches. I've been running cherry mx blacks on my AR87 and Gateron blacks on my K87 which i'm thinking about taking out and putting on another keyboard. Those are hella smooth. I can only imagine what lubed would feel like with them. I'm glad you found something that works really well with you. I got some 205 g0 in as well and am looking to start by lubing up some creams and going from there but i do love my heavy linears! Cheers and thanks for sharing your experience!

What are your impressions on the Gat optical yellows and their higher point of actuation? It activates only after 1mm instead of 2mm. I don't care about them being lighter springed as I have many different springs.

@@rba1841 I am no lie using those exact keycaps right now on my office keyboard that i'm writing this comment with. Lol I have a mix of white and pink to create a cherry blossom theme. I can send you a picture on social media if you're interested. I love the texture. Some of the edges could be refined and my spacebar is a tiny bit warped but overall i still recommend them for $30. They feel fantastic.

With my GK MK61 w/ y switches came a bag that had blue and brown switch. I got them on esc and 2. Brown stings you with metal sound when pressed lightly, blue as always, makes a lot of sound.

@@miaswag2438 not really you can sometimes overhear metal "pinging" when pressing it and i can make it heareable with every click if i press them at a right angle . The tactile bump is good. Maybe its just the switch that i got since i only have one. You can buy pack of ten and test them if u have the keyboard.

It’s good if you’re only gaming. If you’re on pc and you will be doing typing I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s extremely annoying as there are lots of accidental actuations.

i’m just gonna buy pbt keycaps and imma lube it and get cherry MX stabilizers

I just ordered this and came to this video and I am so excited to try out the software because my friends have razer products so they can customize rgb too. I have wanted to do that for sooo long and I didn't know about the software until right now. I will definetely share this video with my friends.

Might have to tinker around with the software a bit to get it to do what you want but you can definitely customize the RGB a bit. Thank you ! :)

Hey guys thank you for the concern! I've thought a lot about this and it's definitely becoming a larger concern as the channel grows but I tend to relocate a lot so the zip code won't be valid much longer. I'll be mindful of it next time I move. Much appreciation and happy holidays everyone!

From what I’ve heard the optical silvers will probably be better because the actuation force is 45 grams compared to the 35 gram optical yellows and they both have 1mm actuation force which is basically a budget huntsman mini

Confused beth this exact variant with keyboards like Asus tuf k3, hyper x alloy origin core tel and my favorite XPG SUMMONER

this sounds louder then it accually does but all around ive had this keyboard for a year and its the best ive gotten about 3 different types of keycaps and they all feels grate i would rather have this then some other expensive keyboards

hey just letting you know I don't know if it only shows up on video but it seems there is a lot of clang and metallic pings meaning that it doesn't have a foam dampening board underneath and that could get annoying
