I bought a PRS Dustie Waring CE because of your video of it, and fell in love with it. I also cannot stop looking at it, it's so metal!! I'm going to have to sell some guitars, because I can see myself not playing them anymore because I love playing this one.

@@roymartin500 I got the Jade burst. I went with the Floyd, because I don't hate it like many people. It's all I knew for years, so I've learned tricks to deal with the pitfalls of them, so I don't dread a string break. Plus, it looks more industrial and metal on this guitar. I don't like all that empty real estate on the body. That and I prefer the solid black birds, and you can't get the solid black birds with the fixed bridge on that model. It came tuned E standard, but with Waring's preferred gauge strings (had to look up what was on it), so it felt really stiff. I couldn't do bends that easily, it was harder to play, so I knew I would change the strings to 9-42. But, I ended up opting to drop the tuning to C# and the guitar came alive. I never played 11's, but they feel like 9's with the drop tuning. It plays so smooth and sounds awesome, that and I can't stop looking at it. The pics on Sweetwater didn't do it justice. It was between Jade and all Black, but I'm not a fan of the natural wood back. I hope you get one, because you'll love it. It's my favorite PRS, for sure, and I have two SE's and one SS.

@@itsalwayssomething7490 Thanks for the review! I'm gonna look at the Jade and see. I've had the waring burst in mind being a fan of the initial release but they all look so good. Yeah, I own a core 08' Mira in Vintage Orange(looks V. Cherry) with Wide/Fat neck and Ghost Birds(optional) plus two individual coil split toggles. It's only six pounds but is easily the best playing, sounding and feeling guitar I've ever played. Funny thing is it was an ordering mistake from GC. I ordered an ESP case and got a PRS case with a very light guitar in it!😉. I also own a White PRS One SE, which with some minor adjustments is a really good version of an LP Junior. I have a 04 Mesa Single Rectifier series II 50watt "solo" head on a 04 Mesa Recto 2x12 horizontal cab. A few fx pedals but that amp has been so solid for me. So I want a good guitar to go with my rig that I can carry on for another 20 years and the DW CE Floyd totally fits that bill. It's an amalgamation of my mix of guitars into one really sick one. Thanks again for the review.

But I bought it because the pickups are really good with high gain or clean. Plus, every Korea made guitar I own is awesome. PRS SE models are high quality, and for those of us who can't afford a Core model, they're really great guitars!

Blackmoore has made that guitar sound like a sitar in that song and it boggles my mind! very happy im in the guitar player world and discovering all these awesome licks and riffs!

I think the new blue finish on the new Holcomb SEs have come out much better than than previous purple/ brisket burst. Marks original USA model had a great finish, but the SEs had a much darker and less vibrant finish, I thought.

I have a wine red McCarty single cut SE and I just picked up the older version of the Holcomb SE. they’re both such killer guitars. At first I wasn’t jiving with the 20” radius on the Holcomb but then I changed to standard .10 strings and lowered the saddles/adjusted the neck and it feels great. I agree with your point on the import models. I have three S2s and they’re such great guitars, but I love the SE guitars just as much really. They’re damn close to the American models. So for anyone thinking an SE is an “inferior” guitar, they’re not. I could have just an SE and be stoked, they get as much playing time as my S2s

Veneer can be pretty much, if not, just as nice as a full top, it basically comes down to the whole finish, some stains kill the depth and satin also removes depth, I've had an Epiphone with an amazing veneer that moved a lot and then you see Harley Benton with some of their stains that just kills the depth, same goes for full thickness figured tops.

The issue with the holcomb SE is that it has a fat and wide neck in conjunction with a very flat radius. If you have a 20 inch radius you generally also want a thin and slim neck, when I tried one of the Holcomb models it felt hard to play in comparison with the Jackson juggernaut which plays way faster
