It has happened, some would say. just 2 year ago the Chinese company Reate makes the knife "Exo" alone with it's derivative models and it was a cult hit.(it has a $290 msrp and is relatively rare to find) Then in 2023 a US company Dailycarryco (iirc, was backed by kickstarter campaign maybe) start to producing knife models with very similar mechanical designs, only with less exotic materials and lowered price. What a strange age we live in. "Oh you got the US-copied one, that's actually pretty cool too bro. so...wanna switch and try my OG Chinese one?"
