Livestream unboxing of a K40 Laser!
In the CO2 laser world the K40 has been super popular because of its price. There has also been a pretty big learning curve as many machines need lots of upgrades to get them working accurately and safely.
The most popular supplier of these machines is Orion Motor Tech. Recently they opened a US office and renamed to OM Tech. They are running each machine through a QA process which could make this a great option if you are looking to get a K40 in the future.

im just unboxing mine and want to know about the ground wire. what should I run it to?
So I need a laptop or computer to run the thing or can I use an addon control panel with a preloaded svg?
Just ordered a K40 from Omtech and it’s a bit different. It has a Sunon fan in it and an analog mA meter above the stop button.
How thick of wood can the 40watt cut ?

My wife is wanting a glowforge. They are too expensive and I've read bad things about them. Other suggestions OMTECH K40. I've seen that OMTECH has 2 different models. My wife is a crafter and I'd like a entry level but maybe that could be expandable. I like the prices of the two K40s but don't know the difference between the two or why she needs either one. I hate that there is so little work area inside the printer. I need this now for Christmas. Please help
I am trying to set my laser up and find the instruction manual to be very unhelpful. If you could please share an resources or make another video doing a step by step sep up, that would be amazing! Thank you

Hey, I just picked one up and wanted to know what to do with the ground... doesn't the plug already run a ground? Why would I need to ground it twice?

you need to ground the casing, which is all metal. important: where the ground screw is, you need to scrape off the paint.
There's no info on cutting speeds out there and what's practical for a business
This video could have been 4-7 minutes based on the worthwhile info and delete all the bull time wasting. Thanks KZread for fast forward tapping with ease.

would you say this is better or comparable to a glowforge? it seems like the price is unbeatable

The Glowforge is overpriced because of brand name. The k40 is underpriced due to low quality. Personally, I find the middle ground between the two at $1500 or so is a more ideal starting point as you get what you pay for, especially with Omtech. That's at least what I've found out through research

@@ericwrite8419 yes but its all cloud based with the glowforge. So if the company goes bye bye... its a pain to use (if possible at all)
Best chiller idea I saw was put a few frozen bottle water bottles in a bucket of water and circulate water from that

Lack of pace means there is much more content than the average fast unboxing. You can always skip through it or buy it yourself and do it yourself🤷♂
Why is he rambling the whole time? And how does he have 31k followers? Video not helpful at all
