Sue, I’m very curious about something. You said your Poodle Parade and Color Magic repros do not have bend knees. I thought mine did. It might just be a bit harder to bend them. I’m also wondering if over time the knee mechanism has broken down?

Oh my God I haven't seen one of those and forever I had one of The originals and when my mother sent me and my sisters to Michigan for the summer when I got back she had given away all my dolls that was included and I also had an original Barbie and Mitch and Skipper and I had honey West it was heartbreaking you are so blessed to have found it

That was a good one Sue!! Lots a good content. All the reproductions are all beautiful: that is a fact. But,....why didn't they just take the old heads and make exact molds out of them for the reproduction faces. Seems to me, that a big company like Mattel shouldn't have a big problem doing that. Then they would have been exact!! Because, the chubbier or rounder faces acturally changed the expressions on there faces. Also, the eye paint could have been done more authentically, too. Again, they are beautiful dolls, but if you are going to make a "tribute" to an awesome doll...put a little more into the details. You showed that Chistie repro and she seems to be the best copy of all of them.

I was at a yard sale several years ago, and made the seller very angry when I told her that her very played with 1990s Barbies were NOT from the 50s and 60s like she thought! She thought she could make a lot of money from them.

My very first Barbie was Julia. I Loved that show. Mom took me to get my first Doll around 68-69 and I saw Julia and went nuts. I got Barbie n ken the following month.

I believe that the repro dolls got better over time. When they first came out in the 1990s, they had that awful seam up the front of the legs and that persisted through several of the dolls. Repro dolls now are so much nicer and truer to the original, silkstones included. I do own quite a few repros from the 1990s up through today. Congrats on getting the Julia and nice Color Magic dolls!
