Your video made me smile with your daughter's reaction. I miss when mine were small. I bought the 40v snow blower which came with the leaf blower as a pair (not the same one) but it is not as powerful as that one. Where I live (in Ontario) we typically put out 80-100 bags of leaves in the Fall. I own a Stihl BR700 2 cycle backpack blower. I was thinking of getting the backpack blower, but your friend is right, it is underpowered compared to that new hand held one and is only about 2/3 as powerful as my Stihl in both CFM and air speed. I saw a video on YT showing some new things coming and it flashed to a new Gen II backpack blower as well as some new battery technology that is supposed to be a game changer. I am now waiting (don't really need it till the Fall anyway) for the Gen II to see what the difference is. That should be the king of the Hill as far as I'm concerned. If it's near my Stihl in performance, than I will be getting that one too.

Thank you! The blower still works very well, I use it many times per week for cleaning the driveway and even bellowing out my garage floor.

Thank you for the good review. I bought the Ryobi AWD 40v 21 inch mower three days ago, then I bought the Ryobi 40v 17 inch brushless whisper trimmer today. I have used the mower once and I love it. I can't wait to use the trimmer tomorrow. I am in love with the Ryobi 40v prodructs. My next purchase will be the blower you reviewed. Thanks again for you review. Thanks Felix! Yes I love Ryobi products as well and also have their 18v string trimmer and the thing is a beast and works really well. With 4amp hour battery I’m able to trim most of my 3 acres. I think if I upgrade to a. 8amp hour I’ll be golden for that

how's the suction power from the intake? Im thinking using it as portable dust extractor

Good question I used it a bunch today actually and have noticed a noticeable amount of suction at the intake but maybe it would need to be encapsulated for it to suck well. It blows amazingly well though it’ll blow smaller rocks all around.

Mine lasted about 5 months. Until I put a 6 Ah battery on. Must have fried something...

Ah man that sucks to hear, fingers crossed mine lasts for a while I use it nearly all year long several times a week keeping the concrete and driveway blown off

Laughed at your video cause I too got a Dead On Arrival pos - just like the customer comment 5 months ago - VERY DISAPPOINTED. Have a LOT of Ryobi tools & the yard won’t look like I planned for Thanksgiving tomorrow since this came from Amazon & not HD -. GRRRR

That sucks to hear but once you get it swapped out you should be good, I actually just used mine today and it’s stilll working beautifully now with no issues. The thing is truly a beast and a joy to use, just too bad they’re having trouble to get the quality perfect on the first time out

I can blow off my concrete pad which is like 20x30 and my whole 500’ long driveway on one battery. Any more than that though and I break into the second one.

i suggest you don't put that over your shoulder trying to cross the US border? :) I'm suspicious of the 730cfm at the end of the nozzle. If you flip over and read the amp rating. If it's a high value it's probably a fast charger. The current output pushes heat and the fan keeps the internal circuits from burning up.

you are correct...nozzle off, you get 730cfm at lower air speeds...nozzle on, you get 190mph air speed at lower cfm. so it is a numbers game. Either way you run the numbers, they are pretty decent for a battery blower. I have the older 550cfm version, I use it for my lawn care business. I do 4-5 lawns a day...one pack usually does all the driveways/walkways I need to blow off per day. A lot easier to pull it out of the truck and pull a trigger, than have to mess with fuel, pull cords and fumes.

8:05 aaaand this is why gas power is still the best way to go.

After swapping the DOA unit out with another one we’ve been trouble free since then luckily. I have to say I am in love with this blower and use it several times a week right now with all the falling pine needles and leaves to clear the driveway. I’ll do an update after a year to see how it goes.

Between this, the 40v chainsaw and the 18v string trimmer I am in love with these tools. No having to pour gas and get gas from the gas station, no trying to start the engine up with 18k pulls or worry about draining the gas for winter, changing plugs, etc, etc. just grab a battery off the charger wall and roll. For the average homeowner I think these tools are awesome snd will only get better, more compact/lighter & cheaper over time. The only time I use my gas can anymore is for lighting a fire and fueling the ATVs :)
