UNBOX, ASSEMBLE and FLY ! FMS ZERO A6M3 V2: ESSENTIAL RC FLIGHT TEST
AVAILABLE HERE: bit.ly/fmsA6mZero
This is a great looking Zero straight out of the box. I honestly could have wasted several minutes of your time boring you with the simple steps to assembling this 750mm RC aircraft but I don't think you would have thanked me for it. We all know that FMS aircraft are high quality and very easy to assemble. All the hard work has been done for you. Even the decals have been applied. You do need to install the horns onto the control surfaces. Ensure you use the correct horns. Take the packet for the aileron horns first. This packet contains 2 pushrods. Use the longer screw for each aileron closest to the hinge. Follow same for elevator and rudder. Drop in your receiver and you are ready to go! To get the CG you are going to need to drop in a 2S1600-2S1800. The 2S1300 recommended was too light and I needed to add a few ounces of lead to make the Zero flyable after a scary first flight.

I’ve got the Corsair, and I recommend having some hot glue by hand because if you crash sometimes (like me) the motor might come loose, or tail surfaces could crack after a crash. Otherwise a fine and powerful, yet gently flying warbird.

@@EssentialRC It was fun to fly but in order to have it balanced I had to put 30g of weight to the front. Maybe I'll try 2s 1800 battery to balance it without added counter weight. Amazing looking never the less!

That’s not a retract so much as a detract. ;-) Nice episode, and yes, the manufacturer’s CG spec sometimes needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I’ve had to ballast a few of my own planes after their rather terrifying maiden flights.

I started with a Mustang p-51 as my first plane, it had gyro stabilizer so it wasn't really hard to fly and it's possible to switch it off. Look for eachine warbirds they are fun, easy to fly and goodlooking.

Sorry if I missed it - but you did not say anything about adding weight to the nose - I have seen many videos and indeed have one myself and I have had to add 70g of weight to the Cowl just to get the CG at 40mm from the leading edge - you did not seem to have to do this ?? - I even had to do this and I am using a 1000mAh 3s batter !!! - any comments would be welcome....
