Unbox: 4 Corners Cube and 12-Axis Rhombic Dodecahedron

Unboxing and initial impressions of the LanLan Pitcher 4 Corners Cube and the LanLan 12-Axis Rhombic Dodecahedron. Will I figure out that the Rhombic Dodecahedron has jumbling turns? Will I get the puzzles turning smoothly? Watch the video for the answers to these questions and more! BONUS CONTENT: keep watching after the main feature for follow-up content.
Note: The Dayan Hexadecagon is a truncated triakis tetrahedron, which is also the base shape for the 4 Corners Cube and Shuang Fei Yan Cube. In the video, I mistakenly called the Dayan Hexadecagon by its shape name.

mad582 Was the four corners a pretty intuitive solve? I’ve got mine scrambled and back into a cubic shape, but haven’t touched it past that.

How did you solve the corners? I got it into cube shape and fixed the edges but now I need to rotate 2 corners

Yes, I left the corners till last. I didn’t come up with a set of moves to specially rotate the corners, but just to take not of how they orientate themselves when they go in . To move the corners, I basically walked the corner around the puzzle, keeping it in cube shape, then when 2 of the petals had detached themselves , I swapped it with the corner I wanted and then walked it back, then undone the swapping bit. Hope that made some sense, but hopefully the concept got across..

Is the 4 corners similar to a Verypuzzle Clover Clube? Do they belong to the same family or they are not related at all?

@@masacrador1 the 4 corners cube is a cubic hexadecagon but with a lot of the pieces fused together. The clover cube is completely different

Really nice puzzles. Got all 3 as well, I can solve the base puzzle and the cube version, im still hanging on the 4 corners cube. Btw, mine had these rectangular tape pieces as well. I guess it's to protect the logo. I peeled it off and replaced it with a custom cut piece of transparent tape. Would love to see a solve of the 4 corners cube, maybe even in tandem with the unbandaged one.

These look fantastic. Don't have either in my collection but quite possibly will be added in the coming weeks... Not much to do when house bound and can't leave. Might as well do some more puzzling. Pete a suggestion to you would be to include the price point of each puzzle featured in you videos. Wouldn't take long to add that detail but might be of interest to viewers? I know i'd personally like to hear the cost of the puzzles. Would definitely help away me toward a purchase or not. All that said, fantastic video as always. Thank you and stay safe. ☮️

Hi there, Master. Any chance to make a tutorial for one of these: Clover Cube Extreme, Corona cube aka Sun Block Cube or Clover 2x2x2 ? I’d put the name of the creators (would be easier to spot them), but I don't want to advertise

Would it be correct to describe the hexadecagon puzzle as a tuttminx with lesser number of faces? I ask because of the way the hexagonal and pentagonal faces are arranged.

They do resemble each other, but they are different geometric solids. The Hexadecagon is a truncated triakis tetrahedron. It has 4 regular hexagons and 12 irregular pentagons. The Tuttminx is a truncated icosahedron. It has 20 regular hexagons and 12 regular pentagons.

Please make a video on how to improve LanLan RUA movement, since out of the box it is unusable and i did not find any way to improve turns, tensioning it do not help for me and i am afraid sanding will not be helpfull. I had fully disassambled it, also the inner core and found nothing clearly helpfull to improve turns, i manage to improve some faces a little bit so they can turn, but others are unturnable. I had checked inner core angles, and i see something really 'rare', like if some holes for the screws were made at incorrect angles and so the screws can not be well aligned.

I disassembled it and put thick lube on every single piece, loosened each screw by a few turns then reassembled. It’s not perfect but it’s much better than it was. I’m hoping a few solves will help it to loosen up. Failing that sanding the contact area on each piece is the only option.
