Unblocking Lake Drain Makes a Waterfall

Ойын-сауық

Thank you for 3,050 subscribers! I really appreciate the feedback you all send, it's very helpful.
The water is becoming stagnant in the creek downstream, so it's time to release some pent-up lake water to freshen things up. There are wind storms coming soon, so I'm sure the drain will quickly be blocked by more fallen branches. I replaced the main log before I left, so that the lake wouldn't lose more water than necessary.

Just one thing the original concrete has broken on the section you clear so the dam was merely doing what the concrete originally did. So you have lowered the water level unnecessarily rather than remove a blockage. I do like to see water flow too though.

It's been like that for decades, the current maintained level of the pond is that broken part of the concrete. When they install new drainage they match this level. The drain is probably over a hundred years old, I should make a video about it.

I do this at my school, there’s a waterfall right outside that often gets clogged up by leaves and stones. The water can’t get to the drain, the drain is a bit far away so the water has to travel a little bit, the drain it’s just straight up there like it is in this video. It’s some meters away, it can cause floodings in the buildings if people don’t clean. It’s a big problem during fall.
