FFAA and Polaris are the bands that really turned me on to Mayones. I've also played a Duvell 6 and a Regius 7 and both were amazing

I never knew about Mayones before I got into Monuments. I have a qatsi in anja burst now and it is absolutely positively amazing. Literally everything about it. I really want a 7 string Regius also!! Cheers 🍻

You know, seeing Keith Merrow play Mayones before his signature Schecter line, and now having owned his KM7 mk 3, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was trying to make an Americanized Duvell. Even the specs are mostly the same, and I’ve seen Duvells with the same poplar top. Mayones might be my new favorite brand, even more so than Aristides.

I actually prefer playing my regius to my aristides since it reminds me or a prs which is usually my go to. I think the mkiii reminds me of his mayones while the mkii reminds me of his Viks/Bernie Ricos. I bet they directly influenced the designs as far as a "budget friendly" option to those types of guitars.

The km3 is borderline design infringement on a duvell, but I'll give schecter a bit of credit because they turned out to be great guitars for a production model, and they look 80% as cool as these. Mayo is a great company. One of the best. They really care about the guitars they produce & having every instrument living up to their standards of tone and playability.

That opening riff is so simple yet so heavy! I love it

I think the Duvell may be my favorite iteration of the pointy superstrat so far. It's like the perfect version of the RG.

Revisiting this vid to get me excited for my Duvell. I got the Regius with Evertune and TKO pickups 2 years ago and immediately ordered a Duvell

Just got my second Duvell elite and they’re AMAZING. Definitely a precision tool that is also a work of art.

I own a masterbuilders collection duvell elite and its smoked any gibson prs etc guitar ive ever had. Gonna take it with me to my grave i love it so much. Great review

Nice Review! Your model is from 2018. The 2019 Model got a facelift!: 4 instead of 6 screws for the bolt on neck, a heel contour and a much rounder arm-Rest :)

Picked up the 2014 MBC 7-string several months ago. The nicest guitar I've ever played.

Man I haven't seen your video's in ages! Would love to see a Mayones Hydra Elite VF7.

Mayones is incredible. I have a Regius 7 and I would describe it as a cross between a PRS and an ESP Horizon for people that can't try em. It's flawless but I really wanna try those Regius cores.

I could see how people say the Nazgul is polarizing, from my experience and what I hear everyone says, Mayones sounds kinda sterile and pickups have a huge effect on the tone.

I've been a fan of Mayones since 2008 that Greg Mackintosh endorsed them and I got to know them, back in those days they even had a sub brand called Flame.

de Seymour Duncan Nazgul is great for playing metal (normally into lower output but got to love the chunkiness)

Hi Arnold. I’m in the market for a new 7 string. I’ve narrowed it down to a esp e-II m-II 7 NT and a Duvell as I had a regius and sold it on the spot as I preferred my PRS. As you own an e-II, between the e-II and the Duvell, is the difference in quality that apparent? Which one do you prefer?

Sounds as awesome as my Mayones Duvell Quatsi. But do you have any problems with the tuning stability? It looks like the whole Duvell Elite and descendants may have that tuning stability problem. I think mine Mayo goes out of tune pretty quickly. In contrast all the Schecters I own never had tuning stability issues. As well as my super-cheap Yamaha Pacifica 112 - stable all the time.

Having played a few Duvells and owning a Regius currently, I would just say that I wish Mayones would roll the fretboard edges. The Duvells I played had a pretty much 90 degree fretboard edge which were uncomfortable for me to play on. Other than that I loved the Duvells, love my Regius. Other thing is, the Duvell has a bit of a wide neck as it has a 43.5 mm nut. My Regius has a 43 mm nut and all the other guitars I play have a 42 mm nut just so people are aware. Makes sense tho because Mayones is a European company that caters to larger European people (I'm asian with damn short fingers).

I could see that complaint on my Regius 7. I came from PRS wide/fat necks so the Regius feels right at home for me. For people that can't try it I would say it's a cross between an ESP Horizon and a PRS. I've heard my friend say his Duvell felt like an Ibanez RGA but the neck wasn't as thin. Did yours come with the ABM bridge? I used to be iffy with it but I really dig it.

@@MaestroJericho The Regius 6 string neck profile is pretty much a PRS pattern thin neck profile so Mark Holcomb's SE sig feels pretty close to my Regius because I also ordered it with a 20 inch fretboard radius. I ordered my Regius with a Hipshot contour tremolo actually hahaha I went in with a razor blade and rolled the fretboard edges myself. I didn't want to have to do it on such an expensive instrument but it made it feel so much nicer for me.

My Regius feels a notch better than my USA Jackson Chris Broderick. Equal to the best PRS I've owned but I would say my Aristides is nicer although I prefer how my Regius plays more. I'd say easily better than ESP/Caparison/Kiesel/Ibby Prestige. I'd say the Aristides is hard to compare because it just feels so different compared to the others. I never tried a Skerv and only limited experience to the higher end Music Man JPs though.

I got a schecter banshee passive from 2014 with exactly the same specs but I paid 250£

I love almost everything I see from mayones.... but.... the backs of the bodies. I know everything is beveled for comfort, but it just doesn't seem to match the guitars. I'd get over it in a heartbeat though. It's better than having a weird headstock.

I need info on your set up. Digital?

Both amazing. I would say your main difference will be the scale length and fan fret vs not. I did end up moving on my 070sr for a Mayones hydra 7 as a prefer the shorter scale length for my small hands. Just my two cents.

Yeah have both a regius 7 and 070. Mayones has more scale length options like people say. Aristides is kinda limited because of the molding process. The aristides is totally different sound wise but both are perfect craftsmanship.

Not a fan of the sentient and nazgul pickups. Got em in my Keith merrow signature schecter. Worst pickups out of all 8 electric guitars I own.

I have to admit the mayones hype is real. I wanted one forever and a beautiful second hand Duvell elite 6 in galaxy black purple burst crossed my path and I went for it. Literally no flaws at all even under intense scrutiny, most solid, easy to play and perfectly crafted guitar I’ve ever used. I’m saving for a customer order soon 🤩 Also, I really hope you and your family are keeping okay dude. Much love!

I think they don't come mega loaded with stuff like a Music Man JP but the upcharge to me is all in the craftsmanship.

I don't like the mids from that SD pickup; bad pickup choice. I would like to see a Duvell Les Paul with something like the Bareknuckle MM or Silo AND a TONE KNOB.

The Black Winter and other SD pickups sound great for single notes and bigger chords. For chugging power chords or 4ths, they sound like crap.

Now I want one even more.

Flawless craftsmanship, but these pickups are too much imo. There is a limit to how "metal" you can go with a pickup :P Better to have a "smoother" pair and overdrive it! That way the guitar can play everything, should the metalness leaves the owners body as years go by:P

Love your reviews! One thing though that bugs me a bit is that your tones always seem off to me. I’m assuming you’re using impulse responses with your hiwatt, so I’d suggest in investing in some high quality impulses and play around with that as a tone shaping tool so that the viewers can focus more on the guitar itself, rather than wondering if it’s just your settings or the guitar that sounds off. Regardless, I can’t wait for the next video!
