The sawn off rear is the back of a Ford Squire an estate version of the Ford 100E Popular based on the Thames van. It dates from the late fifties to very early sixties.

Wow, what a find Stu! Had several 205 and 309 1.9 GTi's in the late 80's early 90's, absolutely loved em! Preferred the handling of the 309, the 205 had a lot of lift off oversteer when pushing on although I did think that the 205's felt a little quicker. Would love to get my hands on that 309

Only 30 goodwood 309s on the road. Another 97 SORN. Very rare cars.

My mate had a 2 door 309 with upgraded camshaft. It was a brilliant car and pretty quick. They had a tendency to overheat but it was quite simple fix to prevent.

Great find, They made equal numbers of them in 4 door and 2 door, and only in this colour, I think its the same paint code as the 205's forest green (dont quote me) They had a limited edition steering wheel and gear knob made by MOMO plus all the factory options including leather interior. The reason The car came to be was because people complained that the 309 GTi16 was only a European model and that the British market did not get the Mi16 variant. Xu9j4 1.9 alloy 16v from the 405. Surprisingly as 309s go its much harder to find an Original Gti in say Red or Black than it is to find a Goodwood.

Just imagine he had scraped it years ago like the other people who had them when they went worthless .... It only exists as the owner didnt throw it away , and is now rare as of actions of the other 309 owners .Work it out .... He still has his ,others dont ....

Amazing find Stu!! a rare 309Gti goodwood edition! Car needs saving & moved into the dry!! Owed nine 205GTI years back, last one was the Miami blue 1.9 had A/C & power steering k plate! Now drive the little 106Quiksilver-vts she's loud! Should come do a review on her? also know of a field with 90s cars could show you!👍

This is a hell of a find. As the owner of a couple of rare Peugeots myself (including a 405 Mi16) this is great to see. The best handling car I ever owned was a 309 GTi on full Bilsteins and uprated bushes. Even the Mi16 wasn't as good

Great find 👍 still see a fair few of these.. but I do go to the Peugeot festival every year. Believe it or not there are still a fair few of the Goodwood editions still in existence.

Impressive... I LOVE the 309 GTI. In Spain was build just un hatchback also 130hp and obviously not the Goodwood edition. There was also the 309 GTI 16v with 160cv which was incredibly fast!

Great video, fantastic to find a 309 GTI Goodwood… did you know it was never planned to be the 309.. it was the Talbot Arizona it due to the takeover of Talbot by PSA it became a Peugeot instead!

Love it. I had one of these, i absolutely loved it. Such a great car....sold it to buy a GTi6 in the end. Found my old one recently, but it wasn't the car i once knew anymore, and needed a lot of work, so i walked away....😢😢

I used to own a 5 door Goodwood like that one. Best car I ever had but had to sell it when my daughter was born and got a Volvo estate 😢 Just checked DVLA and it was last taxed Nov 2009 which was about a year after I sold it 😢

309s are renowned for good bodywork so there's still a chance.

Lucky you didn't have the dogs attack you, trespassing on that farm. Proper cheeky as there is no public access at all near there.

Had a couple 309Gti and it is better handling car than the 205 and way better lookin to and has one much cooler and better thing in its arms.. u can open the back windows from between the stols.!! Love 309😍

Fantastic find but i was a bit disappointed as you had said you had travelled 3 hours to get their for 1 car but unless you we're disturbed you could have spent longer looking at the 2 309 the 205 and the others tbh as would have been good to see so unless I'm missing something you could have done a 20/30 minute video easily but i still enjoyed it and enjoy you're content so its not a hate comment just a 🤷‍♂️comment 🙂👍

That 309 good wood must be a fairly rare car a well known site reckons there are 30 liscensed and 102 sorned I don’t think I’ve ever seen one tho remember the 309s well

Really loved the 309 GTi, the goodwood edition was the best imo. Saying that anything french from the 80s/90s with a gti badge on gets the thumbs up from me. My biggest regret(s) was selling my 106 rallye and Saxo vts😔🤦🏻‍♂️ Edit: I do realise that neither have said badge...🙄

Hopefully someone will save her that rare 80s French connection UK 👍

The 205 Goodwood exceptionally rare as a 5 door. Worth saving.

There worth a bloody fortune...I think the farmer might know something if you noticed the towel he had over the steering wheel protecting it from the sun ...No wonder farmers are always complaining their broke...their sitting on a fortune down the bottom of their fields

I don't understand why folk just leave these cars in the field to rust - especially when there are people around who would love to buy it and gladly restore it for them. Maybe it is an elderly person who is the legal owner and is a home maybe and nothing can be done until he passes away :(

the 309 was cool but you should of spent abit more time on the other cars like the red prem. Passat's and others. just stuff you don't see on the road much anymore so its interesting. keep car hunting though stu 👍

some people have more money than cents. The only good in this disregard of desirable autos is it provides us with subject matter to have a winge on KZread about the wastefullness of something we desire and probably never have opportunity to own.

They were a 1.9 8 valve. Only 309 that came with an XU9J4 engine was the 309 Gti16, which were all LHD and for European markets

My d#ckhead stepfather had that car black with the alloys painted black had a chip after market air filter it had the scorpion exhaust standard that comes standard quick car for its time
