Unbelievable RARE Exotic and DIVERSE Plants🪴 FLOII exhibition Indonesia 🇮🇩 | Preview 2024 Trends!
This is FLOII - An annual plant show in Indonesia showcasing the best plants being cultivated by the best growers. Having over 270 million citizens spanning over countless unique growing conditions - Indonesia is an important source for discovering new species - with new hybrids, mutations, and variegations being created on a daily basis. As such, a lot of plants you see in this episode is destined to become plant trend for year 2024 and beyond.
For aroids, please check out the previous episode - as this one is focused entirely on non-aroids.
I was shocked to see that there were more people buying and selling platyceriums, than any other genus, even surpassing aroids. Like it or not, the staghorn fern is set to dominate the plant market in 2024.
We spend intimate moments with each plant category, including carnivorous, succulents, sansevierias, palms, and more. As usual, I hound the vendors to ask for care tips to share with you guys!
We end the episode with a big bang, showcasing gorgeous hoyas that have now become very affordable.
I also highlighted many unique plant styling and display that I bet you’ve never seen before!

You will hear it first from Sean here, "The OG leaves is so boring that it would put you to sleep." 55:13 Hahaha This is what I'm talking about when you step out from Aroids, the world opens to others' wonder. So stunning this episode especially those mutated sansevieria from Phillipine and thanks for bringing back the Hoya excitement which I had killed almost all of them.

The hoyas are actually the most Ive ever seem in an Indonesian or Thai show. The genus is very very unpopular in Asia, unlike on Europe and the US. I would consider this… a huge leap forward for the genus in Asia 😅
Your videos got me to purchase my first Platycerium last year, after a lot of miss identification, it ended up being a Hilli 🎉 Since then, my collection has grown to include 12 out of the 18 species 😁 still quite difficult to come by in NorthEast US. I’m hoping to start sowing spore to make them more accessible here Thanks Sean! I credit you to the start of my collecting, it turns out I have somewhat of a green thumb. Collecting turn into a passion project and I’m creating an online compendium for Platycerium, I’ll share with you once it’s wrapped up Cheers 👋

I love ur channel and ur dedication about plants. tanq so much.its great to see the rare and exotic plants. paltyceriums ridleyi r not available in Indian market. plz suggest where can I buy at reasonable price.
@onlyplants
8 ай бұрын
You can reach out to the platycerium sellers (their instagram account is always listed on the bottom left corner of every booth). However keep in mind that India has a strict import rule. I believe an import permit is required to bring in plants into India. If the supply of ridleyi is low in India, it might be a good business opportunity…

One plant I have not seen in your latest videos on these exhibitions is the microsorum thailandicum "blue oil fern" I am obsessed with it...I actually bought spores online for around $35 US and recently sown them and waiting patiently for growth , I was hoping to see them as they should be more common there but I guess not much ppl into it yet or they don't know about it? Overall, I really enjoy your videos 😊

Oh they are hugeee in Thailand. I filmed it in last years plant show in Thailand 😀 as the name suggest the plant is endemic to Thailand. Sadly Indonesians did not catch on with the trend.

You would have to check with them, you can get free consultation with Exitplant which is the sponsor of the video (their info is at the end of the episode). Sellers and exporters can actually move plants out of Indonesia, but whether your country allows the receiving of plants is usually the tricky question - varying from region to region.
