Thanks for all these great videos! Just curious, do you know anyone in the Houston area that uses/install Alibi branded cameras? The DIY installation seems feasible but I’m a little overwhelmed trying to attempt it myself. If you have any tips or contacts let me know! Thank you again. Hey George - is the light difference from 50% to 100% adjustable at the DVR / NVR? Also, are those lights motion detected?

It is adjustable as far as the percentage. If you have the illuminite option on, the illuminite lights are on as long as it’s dark outside. You want them that way so you can see outside even when there is no recorded motion. For example…if something happens at a neighbors house & the incident is too far to register as Motion, you’d still be able to see it. Because I guarantee if the police see you have these badass cameras, they will want to look (even if it’s for your neighbor). But there are plenty of other examples where you want this working all night.

So I am confused. Does it work when there is no light and when I say no light, i mean no light - not even from the camera. We want to set up a wildilfe camera with night vision. It can't have a light as that would scare the wildlife. Would this camer work? Or does it need to have the illuminated light in order to work? How well/far would it see with NO light (not even from the camera)/ Thanks.

You can use the Starlight chipset without the illuminite. The illuminite has the white light, the starlight does not.

I am looking for a great wired system and I am really leaning on Alibi. I was trying to do more research on the camera's itself. Where are the camera's made and who makes them? Are they American made or made in china hikvision style camera's?

You’re not going to find much online since the cameras are dealer exclusive and not available to the general public. Best thing to do is call me to discuss (contact is in the description of the video). Alibi is in Austin Texas. Once upon a time they used some Hikvision components, but they haven’t had any affiliation with them for a few years now. So now all their cameras are NDAA compliant (unlike Hikvision, who is pretty much banned in the U.S.).

Should all of my cameras in my home have two way audio or can I have only the doorbell camera with two way audio?

My personal opinion is the doorbell is the key when it comes to two way audio. These particular Alibi cameras have one way audio, so you can still hear the person outside. That’s all you need on your other cameras (in my opinion).

Do these cameras have an audible alarm? I have an odd layout at my house where the master bedroom has these big sliding glass doors with a deck and stairway directly outside of our bedroom. Ideally I would like a camera mounted outside facing down the stairs that would sound an alarm to wake us up should someone approach it and start walking up the stairs at night.

Thank you for the videos. Currently I have an older Nest system that we just hate. It’s probably 6 years old. I’m looking to install a solid POE system and do it right. Not looking to cut any corners. I’m an electrician by trade and work for the largest commercial and industrial contractor in Michigan. Running the wiring and hooking this up is no issue for me. Picking the equipment however is a different story. I’ve never heard of Alibi till I found your channel. It looks nice. I was looking at Unifi before stumbling on your channel. At work we have a Physec group that sells Avigilon, Axis and Hanwha. I can get these systems at cost and we obviously install them in large commercial and industrial sites. Can you set me straight on what direction I should go. I’m looking for a great app. Solid notification and great picture. Most of the commercial systems I’ve looked at we have do not have the 2 way audio. I’ve used the Avigilon mobile app and it’s terrible. Currently I’m looking for 8 cameras. I’m not in town, I’m on property and have a couple buildings I’m putting cameras on. Appreciate the help. Just looking for a quality system.

I stopped selling discrete cameras years ago (they tended to come with unnecessary drama), so I haven’t checked out pinholes for quite awhile. Wish I had a better answer for you. In general, you’re going to lose a lot of functionality if you go pinhole.

hi GEORGE, i live in shithole CA. some people moved into the house across the street from me. they put 2 cameras on the front of the house, pointing at my house. i called the city. they said there is nothing they can do. what can i do to take down these cameras? every time i go out my front door my blood pressure goes thru the ceiling. im sorry about your health. @jd2150 It does not. Plus, with the analytics of the NVR & the cameras, you can eliminate false alarms all together. Setting your recordings to just people, vehicles etc.

No need for upgraded performance. This technology was ahead of the curve. This is still top of the line. Still head & shoulders above the rest. Any upgrade in technology is available through updates. That’s the advantage to IP cameras. They are future proof.

Alibi is only available through their dealer network. It’s not available to the general public. They protect their pricing, not me. They do it that way to support and help small local businesses like mine succeed.

I think it would have been better to duplicate ate the night view results in your own yard instead of using the stock examples the company put out. That’s what all the other reviewers do.

I live in a downtown area in a condo and I rent my place. So…1. I don’t have a yard to do such a thing. 2. Since I don’t own this place, I can’t put cameras on the outside of this building like I’d like to. 3. The homeowners association here wouldn’t allow it (if I did own it). I’m well aware of what other reviewers do. But thanks for the comment.

Why scare the thugs away when you can bring them in? Dog food and shark/gator chum isn't free. Than again, I could see mounting one of these on the end of a rifle with a cell phone head mount as crafty. Maybe add it to a drone too. What say you Georgie? ;)

@@GeorgeLangabeerLOL They look like really good cameras but I'm very surprised that only the one over $1k has motion tracking given that most of the cheap chinisium cameras on Amazon have some sort of motion tracking. Motion tracking is a mandatory feature for me.

They're just rebranded Hikvision or "supercircuits" no thank you, out of all Chinese cameras Hikvision is the last brand I'd trust. Plus Dahua has better night vision for the same price.

You’re misinformed. 1. Alibi Vigilant has no affiliation with Hikvision & is 100% NDAA compliant (Hikvision & Dahua are not).2. Alibi Vigilant & Supercircuits are separate brands. 3. There is not a single Dahua camera on the market that can touch the Starlight/Illuminite combo this camera provides. So you are just straight up incorrect on all counts. You should do your research before making a comment like this.

Dahua EMBARASSES Hikvisions (alibi) night color anyone that’s been in the industry for more than 5 minutes would know that. They are not NDAA compliant and the fact that they try to lie about it to sell more cameras is almost as bad as you trying to lie to everyone to sell them more. Next time take your own advice and do a little research before commenting, that or you already know and are just a liar who doesn’t realize a ton of us have more experience in this industry than you and actually have morals.

Not looking for an argument, but the sample night vision demo footage you showed of the ALI-NS2114L is from the Alibi Witness series which is a rebranded Hikvision ColorVu camera. The Alibi Vigilant series are rebranded Uniview cameras. You may want to update the demo footage you are showing to the Vigilant series cameras. The trademark Hikvision date and time stamp are also an immediate giveaway on that footage. I’ve had great experiences with Alibi Security, but it’s also important to understand they are not a manufacturer. @@GeorgeLangabeer
