UNBELIEVABLE - Discovering Why South West France is SO Popular! Van Life Dordogne
Our epic summer tour of France visits one of THE most popular places with tourists and the French alike, the Dordogne. And oh my GOSH, IT IS UNBELIEVABLE.
Our base camp this week is an absolute belter of a campsite which unlocks river adventures and a visit to one of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TOWNS in the whole of France.

Key information about this weeks travel vlog:
- Campsite was Camping Mill Caudon which is right on the Dordogne river
- Canoe trip was from Vitrac to Castelnaud-la-Chapelle: I think if we had more energy we would have also stopped there. It was super easy to book via their website and the service was great, really friendly and efficient. We went with Canoës Loisirs as we could walk to it from the campsite, and we would recommend them.
- Domme was the village we visited on foot, it is very close to Sarlat and other amazing Dordogne villages and we just loved it. The caves were interesting, but if you just wanted to visit to take in the scenery we think that would've still been worth it.

Ah that sounds amazing. How long did that take? The place we hired from did long term rentals for basically weeks on end if need be.
Having grown up in the South of France I can confirm it is very special.

We visited the area, camping, then in a Motorhome, for over 30 years. Now we live here, about 1km out of Dordogne, in Lot-et-Garonne. It just started feeling like we couldn't live anywhere else. No regrets after 4 years.

Such a beautiful place and nice weather. Lily is a trooper for walking all that way, well done you. I'm an ex butcher I have my steak medium rare. Whatever that was in the pan, I had to look away 😪 each to their own, but I feel that cow died for no reason 😂

Looks wonderful. We used to have an inflatable canoe and loved taking down the Loire Valley. Lily, keep a journal of all the little jobs you help mum and dad with as well as your adventures. Great video, keep them coming. X

Those bugs are cicadas and you can tell how hot it is by the frequency of the noise they make - the hotter, the louder.

I was lucky enough to spend my teen years growing up in this region. Had the best summers of my life. What canoe route did you take. It looks like you went past La Roque Gageac.
