Wow! The wind was kicking those jets around like they were little Cessnas! Great display of skill by the pilots. Pretty cool watching the wings flex too!

I have to admit.. an extraordinary machine, built by extraordinary people and flown by extraordinary pilots.. all top-notch pros at the pinnacle of their professions. I will dearly miss the a380 when it's short-lived existence comes to an end. What an absolutely amazing sight to see and marvel of engineering. My complete admiration and respect.

These are the videos I enjoy the most. They can't be comfortable to make so I really appreciate you putting these together. This is where the pilots and crew make their money..

Amazing skill by the pilots. I'm amazed the rear undercarriage can take those kind of lateral forces on touchdown. Great footage, thanks for sharing.

@KZread UserThe a380 can be upwards of 500tons and on crosswinds like this, the force on the wheels is actually more than the weight so upwards of 600 tons on the wheels! The wheels and suspension has to engineered so perfectly.

Question to a pilot here: Are crosswind landings easier with larger airplanes, since they are heavier and not so much pushed by the wind compared to a small airplane? Do they have higher crosswind limits then?

Years ago I was watching a 747 making a cross-wind landing at Kai Tak in Hong Kong and waited for it to wipe the undercarriage off - the touchdown angle was so extreme. Someone who knows more about these things than I do told me that the 747 undercarriage is designed to withstand landings of 45 degrees to the line of flight. I presume that the 380 has similar requirements designed into its undercarriage.

The cross wind landing of this Emirates A380 jet was perfectly captured - perfect location, perfect filming. Great job!

That were some strong crosswinds! Rare to see an A380 go around, normally when the small planes are fighting the wind the A380 comes in and "butters the bread" like nothing happend :D

Excellent capture of the Emirates A380 go around and cross wind landing together with a nice selection of other big jets too. As ever, great location and filming. The EgyptAir 737 looked very bumpy!!

Yes and the ambiance in the cockpit is all of a sudden very different, throttles full forward, steep climb , etc

Absolutely fantastic and stunning landing credit to the pilots for flying this beautiful aeroplane and I have been on it three times I'm proud to say and it's massive inside

I got a question for airline personal. When you land sideways (for christ sake) doesnt the landing gear get tweeked out. Or does it go into the shop afterwards. Or do you log it and keep flying. Ive never seen anything like what ive been watching. Im hooked on this type of reality tv. The passenger's must freek the fuck out. Sideways , really. Everyone ive shown these vids to had no idea . What is wrong with you people.you all need more money. It looks like a crash that was averted. Not just no but fuck no. I thank all of you...

@@stevenvalvana2024 Planes should not land traversed. That would be dangerous. Pilots will line up with the runway using the rudder just before touchdown so the plane turns around the top-axis. They can do so because wind speed is generally much less at ground level. Watch for this in the video's. Sometimes is easy to see, other times it is not.

Marijn fly I can’t speak for airbus but boeing sometimes even recommends touching down sideways, there are some conditions for it however in their manuals but in the right circumstances its not a big deal to the landing gears :)

@@OLGMC Thank you for your reply. I can only visualize you feeling a crosswind on the airframe pushing on it harder and harder where you can feel the pressure increase while maintaining control. However the skills you all have is amazing. The responsibility to hold so many lives in your hands daily deserves a place in history to be admired. You may not think so but everyone who sees these vids all are shocked amazed. Ive only heard one dirty word from my grandma . It was OH shit, when she saw these vids. Thank you again all of you who work in the airlines.

You should be proud of your day at Schiphol, not just "quite content." The entire content was fascinating to watch. In addition to the amazing 380 go-around, I did not think the Egyptair would successfully land on the first attempt.

I commend these magnificent pilots for handling these airplanes under windy conditions. Safety of all of the people on board, was top priority with these guys. I love how thw wings of the A380 are straight when flying and as soon as it lands, they flex a bit due to the weight. Looks like a gullwing door. Fabulous. What an astonishing piece of engineering.

These Pilots are amazing. I one time flew into Maui from California Anna Pond Landing I could look out the window and see the runway that we were landing on. Needless to say I had a feeling of uncertainty, but thanks to the skill of the pilots I'm here to tell you about it

As a student pilot, I flew into Maui on my solo long x-country. From the time I turned base to final, I was bounced around like a ping pong ball and it was all I could do to stay lined up with centerline. As I flared the aircraft, I got caught in ground effect and floated for, what seemed like, half the runway. The landing wasn't pretty....but it was mine. I spent the next half hour in the FBO lounge just trying to get settled down for the rest of the trip. Maui is no joke. But as they say, if you can learn to land there, you can land anywhere.

Fantastic, got to love the skill of the pilot, side stepping a jet that big like a glider pure class.

We've done this once in a Cessna. Had strong crosswinds landing near LA, came in about 30 degrees from being perpendicular to the runway. Huge props to my dad for landing that one!
