Oh yes!! Collecting coins is one "addiction", but these shiny things... they're something else!

6:20 new sub. Not sure about this one but I will probably get it. My favourite depiction and origianates from a 16 century poem by Edmund Spencer called The Faerie Queen.

Hi. Thanks for the sub. It's always appreciated :) The Fairie Queen poem was mentioned in the video and the link in the description talks about it too. The problem with mythical characters and creatures is that there are so many variations, I'm surprised the Royal Mint can come to a final choice! Cheers.

If you open these packets can you put them back in or does it ruin it?

Hi, great question. Sadly yes... if opened they're ruined. The bars are sold in a sealed plastic casing with the card inlay showing it's from the Royal Mint, its weight etc. The plastic could be opened, but then the bar is left open to the elements. I could put it into a capsule, but then the inlay card would be useless. Some people do open them, I prefer not to (for now anyway). Cheers.

It's a shame they're still using that wonky looking background. No class. Have to pick up the 10 oz though and if I can stretch for it at some point this year, the gold, maybe as it's behind a lot of other things.

I agree. The background is a tad iffy! I've considered going for the 10oz or gold varieties, but can't justify the outlay. I'm more into collecting than hording, but even that gets out of hand. Everyone has their style of collecting.... just don't tell my wife!! 😂

@@LesCoins-uk Actually when I had a look at the design on the TV instead of my phone screen. I notice that Una's face is a bit odd looking. Maybe the 1 oz silver is better than the 10 oz, because that odd part of the design will be less apparent, heheh. Still getting the 10 oz though, maybe.

@@dleetr I've just checked the images on the RM site and if there is a difference, they may have cheated and used the same image for the 1oz, 10oz and 100oz bars. They all look the same. If you get the 10oz, just squint so it all looks the same lol

@ns-uk Well, now that I think about it, with my aged eyes, I probably won't notice worth a bugger anyway. "what, there's a face to see, i'm holding a silver bar, i'm in my house". One of these days I need to get some glasses.
