This video is part of a series of opera arias we've arranged for cello and piano with our friend, cellist Cicely Parnas. Cicely did a great job arranging this one, especially with the beautiful original cadenza she wrote! We hope you enjoy our revamped versions that show off the cello's ability to sing like the human voice. We arranged a total of nine of our favorite arias, and will release videos for all of them in the coming weeks. Cicely Parnas, your cello is angelic and I suspect it is because an angel is manipulating the bow. Just magnificent. And Marnie Laird, your piano makes beautiful sounds and expressions at your control, your touch is like dandilion fluff blown softly into a Spring sky. Surely the angels in heaven smile as you play. I can picture legions of angels gathered on billowing white clouds in restful positions, some prone, others leaning on elbows to listen to the two of you playing such beautiful music to their pleasure. They applaud, silent to our ears, but in manner that reverberates through the galaxies.

Beautifully played by both of you. So evocative and tender and oh so sad. Perfectly captured and will remain with us long after the last refrain. It's interesting because the song sounds so tragic, like crying, but the lyrics would indicate intense joy. The song does refer to death... but death from happiness.

listening to classical music is not gay... it is also for hurt people that are lonely... usually the hurt is done by a lot of other hateful white people and we end up here in the pain expressed in the violin as in the high notes... emotional in conjunction with the piano... well done in the expression of certain moments that one can relate to not just for relaxing moments but also as an understanding of the pain of the human heart , the spirit and the soul of people that do not go home and smoke pot all day and listen to hip hop
