For those that don't have this bird, the plane hand-launches great and goes even faster without the landing gear installed! Great flying sir! I think you kept the "pedal to the metal" the entire flight!

That was some Awesome flying Chap!, I love your theme of putting 4s in these micro planes!.. I only found the UMX Voodoo today and realised a tiny 2s P51 exists and felt good about my Top RC Hobby 450mm P51D Mustang's conversion to 2s 12A ESC, that I just did, it went from 60 to 160 grams of thrust...I didn't test fly it yet though, I thought it could be a shelf queen for a few weeks before I smash it haha.. It can take 3s but I would need a bigger battery door for that.....but your vid is inspiring enough to go to 4s haha... Again, absolutely great piloting chap!...I aspire to do low circuits like you!

Dang Bro! That thing will hall ass to start with, yours has all the Horsepower, like every bit of it. Now to your Flying Skills, Bro you can fly the CRAP OUTTA VooDoo!!!!! I am glad I found this and your channel. I have one 300mA 4 Cell, all i need to do is make an adapter. I am going to try this, and if i get good results like you, I will fly it some like this. I would rather fly at half throttle and have tons of extra power to either get outta trouble or for some cool tricks, unless nosed straight into the ground at full tilt boogie, I don't think extra power has hurt anyone and having more power has gotten me out of some situations that could have ended in a destroyed Model. This set up should work for the Turbo Timber Umx evolution same electronics

Yes sir, those same 4S packs should work in the new UMX Turbo Timber Evolution but since that model uses a 3-blade prop which i have not tested myself, would suggest to be cautious and monitor amps and temps on the bench and go from there...

I began watching your videos recently and you are awesome. Thank you for the info on juicing up the Umx voodoo I read in the Rc Groups forum you said it was a 4s 380 lipo then said "actually make that with LiHV packs", I am going to get the 4s 380 to clear it up for me was it a Lipo pack or Lihv?

Thanks for your nice comments and right on, I am glad you have a UMX Voodoo to play with. Sorry for any confusion regarding the battery chemistry. I use 300mAh and 380mAh LiHV packs from Race Day Quads. If you find a strong 4S lipo pack to fit into the Voodoo that should work great too. The RDQ packs i mentioned above fit without modding stock battery compartment. If you do run 4S (LiHV or LiPo) on this UMX Voodoo be sure to remove 2 blades from the stock 4-blade prop so as to not over amp/over heat the stock ESC electronics. Good luck.

Right on, glad you are liking the little Voodoo. The profile pic is of my old Avionik D99 which has not flown in years. I have a NIB Rifle that needs to built along with a few old school hotliners too. Sigh, so many planes, so little time 😊

@@Planekrazy1 this is the second rifle ive had. its the samller one. i wish i would have bought one of the vodoo hotliners 15 years ago or so, you can still order em i think. i have a hobby king warmliner. not quiet as fast but similiar i havent taken out of the box yet and fininshed either/ pylon f3a f5a warmliner and hotliners and usually my favorite to flyi had a micro bee once i think it was from czech or ukraine its kinda like the samller voodoo. they can be hard to get down on the ground when it comes to landing you need alot space even for the small one sometimes

@@matthewwilken2051 Right on, i recall some of those older smaller composite pylon planes like the Stinger and Sokol. And definitely recall the Voodoo composite racers, ya i think they may still be available. Cool you have the smaller Rifle, the smaller ones always seem faster and certainly more thrilling. I do like the FunRay as a warmliner and how easily it goes together but pricy, especially for a foamie. Heard mostly good things about the HK Excalibur warmliner.

@@Planekrazy1 the one i have is a G.L speedy. the fuselage is a little fatter in the front than i would like but yeah the stinger , voodoo, they have one thats a stishl name now. ive been thinking about ordering one since ive been kinda disapointed they havent really marketed ant fibergalss or composite planes anymore at least not here inj the states. seems like germany the place for that stuff

@@matthewwilken2051 That GL-Speedy with elevator in tail looks nice. It is funny how names get recycled. The pylon plane at Esprit Models named Still Racer used to be named Sokol. And the "Stinger" they sell now as a pylon racer it totally a different than the old speed-400 composite Stinger which was designed and built by Sergey Sobakin (of Avionik F5D and F5B fame). The 84cm Voodoo pylon racer is available from HyperFlight.

Wherever u are is absolutely beautiful. Also, did you do anything besides slap a 4s in there? I'm gonna pick one of these up soon.

Yes i removed 2 of the propeller blades from the stock 4-blade prop, so it ends up being a 4.5x4 2-blade prop.

I just got the Detroit Miss and the Spektrum 300mah 4s. Did you just cut 2 blades off the prop? Did it make a difference if so?

What balance modifications did you make to achieve such level flight in all phases while maintaining a neutral posture on the elevator control surface?

Did you find the 4s with jst, or use an adapter? I've been flying mine with no gear. It glides slow enough to catch no problem. Great video, thanks a ton!

For this 4S version i swapped out the stock JST power connector with an XT-30. Glad you are enjoying yours without landing gear, and able to hand catch it. Thanks for watching and your nice comment.

I am running the stock 4-blade propeller however with 2 of the 4 blades removed, so the actual prop is 2-blade 4.5x4 propeller.

Have you noticed any engine Wear from such a big battery also do they make adapters for this or would i need to soilder a new one in place ?

The stock 2150kv motor has been running great on well over 120+ flights now. I originally used a JST to XT-30 adapter but later found that replacing the stock JST connector to an XT-30 made took less room and made it easier to fit the 4S 380mAh packs.

Just wondering, did you actually cut the other 2 blades off? I need to try that. What was the purpose just wondering?

When setting up Widgets and Screens in EdgeTX/OpenTX, choose telemetry value with a "+" next to it to show its highest value, e.g. eRPM+ and TFET+ telemetry values.
