UMK24 contestants react to each other's songs

ENGLISH SUBTITLES AVAILABLE! In November 2023, UMK24 contestants Cyan Kicks, Sexmane, Sara Siipola, Jesse Markin, Windows95man, Sini Sabotage ja Mikael Gabriel & nublu heard each other’s songs for the first time. At the same time, they found out about their fellow contestants. This is how they reacted!
Who will win? Watch the UMK show LIVE on February 10th at 9:00 PM EET. The show can be watched live worldwide at Yle Areena streaming service with English commentary available, as well as broadcast on Yle TV1, YleX , Yle Radio Suomi and Yle X3M.

Those videos is what I love about UMK. You do a great job to present all candidates in a positive way, so they all are likeable 💖
I love this video - and that you subtitled it in English: I feel so involved in UMK 2024 despite not knowing any Finnish. I've really been enjoying getting to know this year's artists and discovering the diversity and quality of Finnish music.

The love and respect they each give to all their fellow artists and the different styles they're bringing is so awesome. My favourites so far are Sara Siipola & Sini Sabotage. But I will keep an open mind until the live performances!
Finland having amazing contestants!! All of them could do very well at the ESC. my favs are "dancing with deamons", "vox pupuli" and "mania"

Amazing reaction video! Positive and supportive! This is such a great concept from Finland. If only every country would be able to have national finals with reaction videos like this..and the fact that they all know who each other is just proves that these are established names in the industry - not just newbies as in most other national finals. Even Norway didnt have 7 established acts in MGP this year... only about 4 that would have been recognizable for others....

Anteeksi nyt vain UMK-väki, mutta tämänvuotinen video on todella paljon heikompi kuin aiempina vuosina. Nopeilla leikkauksilla tästä on yritetty tehdä jotenkin ”dynaaminen” ja sisällyttää kaikki hauskat kommentit, mutta samalla se varsinainen kilpailijoiden reaktio noihin biiseihin uupuu lähes kokonaan. Eikä näistä yhtään välity tuo artistien persoona noista sekunnin pätkistä. Ei mikään maailman vakavin asia tässä, mutta olipa suuri pettymys tämä video.

Ois kyl ollu kivaa jos oltais näytetty vähä enemmä. Tää video oli vaa 5min eikä kaikkien biisejä kuunneltu hirveen pitkään. Mut hyvä video silti👍

How do the artists guess so accurately which song belongs to who? Were they given a list of all the artistes selected for UMK? Or are these artistes well-known in Finland?

Yes most of them are well known here, some of them even know each other

I think the musical circles are so small in Finland, that all the artists have met the other on one point or another, when they have been on a gig at the same time at the same place. Except of course if they are newcomers.

In the case of Windows95man, his song starts with "I'm Windows95man". That doesn't explain how Jesse Markin knew that he has short shorts on though. So in that case Jesse must have at least seen a pic of Windows95man. But as the others have said, many of the artists know each other already.
