So many people trying to surfing spots like ulus who have no business being out there - everyone considers themselves an intermediate even though they live in some landlocked country and surf twice a year at best and can barely even paddle let alone control their board, the only thing keeping a decreasing few spots safe from these dangerous idiots is heavy localism rather than common sense, guides bringing out people and pushing them in or basically just letting them snake everyone because they are paying is making these spots even worse!

Cheers for the insight, I’m going there in July. Noosa is my local so am used to crowds but looks like a tight take off with everyone bunched up and getting in the way. Hopefully a bit of size will thin them out.

It does.. I surfed it for a couple days one March when it was 8-9 ft… there was like 8 guys out.. one thing this guy forgot to mention is that the cave can get pretty sketchy when it’s high tide.. fun, but sketchy.

1:46 high tide caveat: currents can make you miss the cave on your way out, which won't happen at low tide if that ever happens to you, an 800 metres paddle to the next beach will be your way out

@@MrJMHP Yeah. 5 foot (10 foot faces) is probably minimum for outside corner to break at a low tide. Usually surfed at 6 foot +, which to me is "big". Why does the swell need to be rising?

Ive surfed it a couple times and its so crowded. Having been to bali a few times id go back but just for a holiday I wouldn’t take boards if you want good waves go elsewhere. Compared to other parts of indo balis crap.

@@crabbynebula depends on your skill level but there are great waves in the mentwais for all levels if your a intermediate and above G Land in Java there’s also other waves around Gland that are good if it’s to big for your liking. Lombok has desert point but Kuta Lombok has some more intermediate waves. Ululs is a ok wave and it’s one to surf for sure but world class is a stretch to me bingn is a much more perfect wave but Bali is so crowded. Pandang pandang is better. INDO has tons of amazing waves.
