Can MRIs and ultrasounds detect Endometriosis? Do you need a scan before a laparoscopy?
Dr Kate Stone is an obstetrician gynaecologist with speciality qualifications in ultrasound imaging. Dr Natalie Yang is a consultant radiologist with sub-specialty interests in women’s imaging and MRI.

I struggle with TV ultrasounds, I have been in tears. I haven’t found the right dr who understands my struggle with an internal examination. This gives me hope that there are drs who can help
Thank you so much, best educational video out there, I wish every gp or Doctor was like these ladies, Sorry to rant but a gyne once suggested me numbing cream...like yeah thanks I will just put him first no problem 😅 Also was told it was ibs and patronised for 2 years, they really made me believe I was a burden. But these ladies really give me great hope to finding wider treatment and education for the bad doctors out there. Absolutely brill gals ❤
I'm so happy this video exists. My cysts have never been found on ultrasounds and MRI's in the past 9 years. Now Im going under laproscopy surgery to detect wether there might be undetected spots. I'm hopefull....but scared they still may not find anything. Been living with the severe symptoms for almost a decade I hope I get an answer soon

MRI for DIE is now covered by Medicare number 63563 section B.
I don't understand why this information and procedures aren't used in the United States, at least not where I live.

Hi should we do MRI Pelvis or MRI Abdomen with pelvis for endometriosis?
when i did an internal ultrasound it hurt so much that my whole back sweat on the bed, and i felt like i was going to faint
Why am I being told that endo can only be detected with surgery (lap). I have multiple ultrasounds and MRIs done and they never searched for endo or mentioned this in the report.

hi Dani - it takes very experienced Drs to recognise endo with MRI and scans. Drs Stone and Yang have a deep interest and understanding of this disease.
How do I find someone who can read my pelvic MRI results? I don’t trust whatever random radiologist was rostered on when I had mine done.
