When I was driving across country in the Pano, we stopped at a shopping mall to get some groceries and this man who was from Airstream came over to look at the van. He thought it was one of theirs and was surprised to see it being driven around. When he saw it was not, we welcomed him to check it out. He seemed very impressed with the build quality of the Pano.

Great comparison. You forgot one key difference: cassette toilet versus black tank. here in Vancouver, we have a real lack of dump stations, so having a cassette toilet (which is dumpable in any bathroom or pit toilet) is essential.

Excellent comparison Neil. Like your old road trek, we have a couch, and desperately want a 'usable' front lounge and permanent rear bed. These coaches have the best layout in the industry. Now if they can just get one on a Transit chassis for us tall folk over 6 2". The Thor sanctuary/tranquility comes close. Love to see a review on that Well done video.

Great review..always honest! Great points for both rigs. The Panoramic lounge can be made into a bed as well? I think the Rangeline is a copycat of the Panoramic. Airstream tried to “copy” the fiberglass trailers with the Nest..and that was short lived. Quality is the key! Bed head! 🤣 Lots of traffic on your little road today! Great video. Good to hear your thoughts. I have a 2018 Pleasure-Way Lexor that became mine in 2020. I love it and have had no issues except for the 3-way fridge. I recently switched it out for a compressor from Norcold. I'm very pleased with it. My one gripe about the P-W, and I knew this going in, is that it isn't set up for winter. I use it in the winter, but have to adapt to winterization mode. In a weak moment, I went to an Airstream dealer to check out a Rangeline. Not having seen a Panoramic in person (just through your video), I'll agree with you about your model being much nicer than the Rangeline. I found the Rangeline to be dark and cramped inside. Whereas my Lexor and your Panoramic let in lots of light. But here's a question I didn't hear you mention. The Rangeline is set up for colder climates (heated gray and black tanks), freshwater tank and all waterlines inside. Is that the same as yours, or do you have to winterize?

I always encourage motorists to pass me so I can enjoy and not miss any opportunity to see something amazing 😊

Another great video. I find it interesting and engaging, even when I settled on my Class B adventure van. ;) I can tell by your comparison just how much you enjoy your Panoramic and how well it meets your needs. The other thing I can tell is how you have continued to purchase high quality campers. My challenge to you is that the Panoramic may be a bit of a unicorn. Or at least it is unique in its market positioning. As a former Pleasure-Way owner, I'm guessing that you still keep tabs on what they're producing? If not, it looks as though they have discontinued (suspended?) production of the Lexor, their ProMaster-based product. Everything is now based on Sprinter and Transit. If you are looking at just the chassis, the ProMaster is on the lower end of the price/quality as compared to Transit and Sprinter. No AWD/FWD like what is available for the other two platforms. Anyway, my point isn't to discount your choice and what works for you. I want to point out that since the ProMaster is more of a value proposition, compared to the other two commonly used chassis. It is unlikely that you will see many high end/high quality coach manufacturers build expensive rigs in a ProMaster. I just looked and Advanced RV only builds on Sprinters. I would be interested in hearing what your number two RV choice behind the Panoramic? What features on the Panoramic swayed your final decision? And finally, what other high end/high quality manufacturers build out on ProMaster?

My #2 choice would be something from Pleasureway. they have very high quality builds. The layout on the Panoramic combined with the build quality swayed me. i’ve always wanted this layout but there was no one making a high quality version of it. I tried to convince Pleasureway to build one but they opted instead to basically drop the Promaster as a chassis that they build on excepting the Torino which is built in a different assembly plant than all the rest of their coaches. There is no other high quality manufacturer building on the Promaster and that is the problem. It seems that manufacturers do choose the promaster as their “least expensive” option and therefore to fit that they cut corners to keep the price down. If a manufacturer want a “premium” model then they build on the sprinter (or maybe the ford) and still cut corners but rest on the fact that a MB in the consumer’s eye is “premium” and will pay a higher purchase price. Panoramic is unique in that they are the only manufacturer building on the Promaster chassis at a premium build level.

The panoramic is beautiful...levels above other brands .. u don't mind living it that. But my price point is barely at the rangeline. I was thinking wow w this van then u showed me the level above lol

For me, I would lean towards a Rangeline in a few years because there will be an actual used market, and the opportunity to save money. The Rangeline comes standard with a generator, and I actually prefer a smaller fridge and a manual awning. I'll be looking to replace my Winnebago K in a few years, and I hope there are even more rear bed options by then. I'd also like to know what the OCCC is on a generator and AC equipped Panoramic.

yes they got rid of the generator. personally i never used my generator when i had it. i prefer not having to carry around all that weight and instead have a larger battery to run the air conditioning when i rarely need to.

What would you say is the closest to an Airstream 24 GT without the "Airstream tax"? I love the layout and specific options in the GT, like the larger fridge and freezer.

hmmm there’s a lot to choose from. pleasureway makes the on tour on the ford chassis which will be less. if you want a mercedes chassis they make the plateau which will be a bit less cost than the airstream. if you care less about quality you have the coachmen nova and beyond.

No lithium option on the Rangeline. Note: I recall while researching this unit, a video on YT posted by a Rangeline owner. I can't find it now. The owner said there was noise (not the generator) that was fairly constant while parked in camping mode. I can't remember what he isolated the issue to be.

The 2024 standard is a 270 ah lithium battery. But, it still has the generator. Works for me. 🙂

I’m curious, I’ve seen a few with a dining table w/ 2 bench seats on either side, with a drop down bed above it. Kitchen at the entry, bath behind the driver. That’s opposite of what you said. Am I crazy?

@@Ultramobility I’ve slept since then, sorry. It just seemed easy, bed up, out of sight and you have a large sits 5 (w/ bench at the back) table workspace. Put the table down, bed drops down quickly and you are easily in bed. Seemed like a genius usage of space.

Airstream rangeline has laminated countertop which is way cheaper. Also it doesn’t have pull out pantry nor under mount sink. It’s toilet is plastic. But it’s bathroom does have a sink.

not sure of the dimensions but it’s around a full size. You can go to their website: www.panoramicrv.com and get their number and call them. They will start your order process over the phone.

Now if the Panoramic had the option of a pop top, you would have the ultimate camper van!

Thanks for this. Quite like both. In some ways the Rangeline is a bit more sporty looking. We have looked at both here in 🇨🇦, and a bit of a toss up. You didn’t touch on the battery side of both. It seems that the Panoramic can come with 400 amps lithium as an option, where as the Rangeline is only 270 amp Lithium (stock however, whereas the Pan is AGM if we recall correctly). The Rangeline also has 2.8 KW ultra quiet (?) generator, which is underneath at the rear. The latter isn’t appealing to us at all. Not keen on generators, but even worse if under the van we believe (at least for access and perhaps ground clearance). We don’t know if the Pan has a separate alternator for the coach, but hopefully so. Last, we know (from your videos) that the water and water lines are all inside in the Pan, but we don’t know about the Rangeline. Are you aware? It is tough to find a lot of the specs on the Panoramic on their website. Definitely the feel of the Panoramic is a step up and that is reflected well in its warranty. Both likely enjoyable!

@@Ultramobility Have you had to idle the van to charge the batteries at all? I'm curious how quickly they would charge. My use case may be all day and night AC usage with no electric hookups, in the hot and muggy south.

i’m just starting to use the air conditioning as the weather is heating up. i tried it yesterday. it does consume about 1kwh of energy when it’s running so it is quite intense. however depending on how hot it is the duty cycle on it won’t be 100% so let’s say it runs 50% of the time for you then with the upgraded battery pack that would give you around 6-8 hours of ac then you would need to drive around for maybe 3 hours to recharge the batteries

Omg another similar RV option? Love the pop up rooftop ! However, one big thing that turns me off is the window size .… Isn’t wrap-around-window the signature of the AirStream? And you’re absolutely right on all the cutting corner designs and cheaper build ins. Would choose Panoramic over Range Line no doubt. Besides building qualities, I love the cream colour interior in Panoramic. It’s just so much elegant. By the way…I try to find the heating blanket that you always talked about from your Amazon store, but can’t…

I purchased a Rangeline and was then immediately told that the window by the sink was not installed properly. Airstream said that they would not repair it but that it was Ram's problem. So much for Airstream quality and warranty. I have only driven it less than a 1,000 miles.

Any idea if Panoramic will be building on the Ford Transit Chasis?

I saw a prototype build of one. It is very nice for sure, has a big garage, but the Ford sidewalls are not entirely vertical and the van is narrower. The result is that features like the 6 cubic foot refrigerator are hard to fit, and the side to side bed will not fit.

i have not heard of this and would be surprised if they did this. they are a. small manufacturer and it would take a lot of additional support to train a second line and also to support a second chassis. that’s just my 2 cents. if anything they should go up to the sprinter since they are a luxury brand but again that is probably not going to happen. as Karnak pointed out the interior dimensions are not the same as the ram and this would require a redesign of the layout and systems.

@@intuitiveinspiredart4366 It was a mockup of one that they showed to current owners to get some feedback (That is something that Panoramic is very good with, they want to hear feedback from their owners). It was a front lounge layout with a larger kitchen counter, but with the limitations I listed above. For someone who wants to have 2 separate bunks rather than a single full sized bed, someone who is taller, with lots of gear and a need for all wheel drive, the Transit is a great option. But keep in mind that this is not a Spinter. It is not 4WD, it does not have the ground clearance, what it will have is Ford build quality, good safety features, and all weather driveability. As Neil said, it might never get built because Panoramic is such a small company, but it doesn't hurt to call them and ask about it. Good luck.

I don't miss it, the kitchen sink is just a step away. Additionally sinks in the bathroom will take up space or will be folding, which can cause issues of it's own.

@@Ultramobility One thing we discovered was that the new plumbing with the membrane traps (instead of the water filled P-Traps) can get fouled with toothpaste if you do not flush it well with water. We discovered that the hard way. Now when we brush our teeth we just spit the foam in the toilet because we did not want to increase our water consumption. So far it works well for us.

Agree that Rangeline / Airstream build quality isn’t where we want it to be and that Panoramic build quality is likely better. Airstream has a reputation for quality, but as an Airstream owner I believe that instead of living up to that reputation, the company chooses to lean on it and take advantage of it to sell at higher prices relative to what one gets for the money. Sadly, neither unit appears to have a small sink in the wet bath. 😕

We have a new Airstream Globetrotter Trailer and the Quality is not what it used to be and I’m sorry about that . I would trade for the Panoramic. Canada built is the difference . 🇨🇦

Do you like the build quality of the storyteller? I assume you don't like the bathroom style in it. Have you ever done a review on it?

i think the build quality looks good. the design is meant for outdoor adventure types so it is well designed in that sense. those types typically do not want to take up valuable interior space for a bathroom and would rather have it for all their gear.

So, my question remains: What do you do if you want a Panoramic, but there is no way you can find one because they aren’t available? 2) Even if you find a Panoramic, how do you get it serviced if there are no authorized Panoramic service dealers? I mean, what’s the point? We own a new 2022/23 Travato G. We like it but don’t love it. We saw the Rangeline at the Tampa Super Show in January. I liked it but found that the build quality was the same average quality ad our new Travato G. Honestly, if Panoramic’s were available and serviceable I would probably sell our new Travato and buy a Panoramic. But I can’t wait 1-1/2 years for one. So, in conclusion, the Panoramic sounds great!!! However, there aren’t any for sale! So why are we even talking about this?

i hear you. they are available but the wait time is beyond your comfort level. for others the wait time is not so much of an issue. they are opening a us manufacturing facility this year and my understanding is that will double their capacity and cut wait time.
