fun fact: the bombs of the pcb bombs used by the luftwaffe during WWII had a time delayed impact fuse like a bolter. those bombs are most famous for being the bombs used in the fritz x project.

Upsetting? Is that an American expression or summat
@bubrub5564
Жыл бұрын
@@jobonotoe Upsetting isn't an American thing, it's an English adjective which means "causing unhappiness, disappointment, or worry". He is either referring to the gore being upsetting, as it should be, or he is talking about him having to butcher a pretty pricey figure to make this possible.

My first thought was "Okay Siri, play You Had A Bad Day" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its very well done, but totally unrealistic. Because the Ultramarines are carrying so mutch plotarmor, that something like this is totally impossible to happen.

As a veteran modeler and a newbie Warhammer 40k fan, I can say: this style is definitely a vibe that's hard to match, but 40k does it flawlessly. However the same level of grungy dystopia also works well with WWII models, but not so much with Gunpla (unless we're talking Zakus). Great video; can't wait for the next one!
Just stumbled across this, and I'm absolutely loving your style! The hobby needs this level of gore to remind people just how awful it is to live in this universe! Definitely subscribing, can't wait to see you continue to make awesome videos!

No lie your works are what inspired me to start doing Gore on my models Keep it up Man really loving the work
Personally think the explosion is a little dramatic for a single bolter round in terms of size. Looks like the marine was hit with something a little heavier. Others might disagree, I might be wrong. Very impressive piece regardless, love seeing the true destructive nature of such 40k weapons emphasised.
Another outstanding video. Your work is incredible and you continue to serve as an inspiration for a newbie to the hobby to keep working at my paint jobs. Well done, Mav!!

As a beginner in the hobby, I can't help but bask in awe of what you are creating. I am still trying to figure out how to get basic ultramarines right without any weathering or gore. Nevertheless your videos are inspirational and point out how far you can push the art of painting minis. Thank you for the amazing content! The Emperor protects (sadly not the featured mini)

Never have I been so mesmerised and enthralled by watching the progress of a 3D printer.
Very well composed video! Always impressed when content creators understand some cinema fundamentals. Great job. Also, love the differentiation of which tools you use to give different effects; using the nippers to show the tearing of the armor without removing it, and then another tool when you just need to get rid of parts. Brilliant. I don't think people put enough thought into the effect they want and which is the correct tool to best create the deformation needed.

@@MaverickNicolson your dark gory conversions are a breath of fresh air in the hobby. Where ppl flex to make the smoothest blends in vids, you show off inventive, believable and superbly looking ideas for the other rarely shown aspect of grimdark - the pain and destruction that walks hand in hand with all the war but is almost never featured in hobby channels. Very refreshing. Thanks for this mate.

Beautiful execution and using the printed explosion alongside model fragments is doable and magnificently violent. I really makes sense to do a violently eradicated version of my dupe heroes/characters to celebrate what the dice do to them every ruddy battle

You’re capturing the brutality of 40k that has always made it unique but sorta been overlooked mini-wise mate, soo good! Random though but you know at the end of T2 when the t1000 takes the grenade round and is all mangled? Something like that would be sweet!

Nice effect with the hobby snips. I find myself avoiding the stretching it causes and use abrasive cutting on a lot of projects- never would have thought to take advantage of it. Sick build!
Comments for the algorithm gods. Great video as usual!
That is the coolest 3d printer I’ve ever seen
Beautiful bro. BLAM!
Amazing execution! With the bolter though, because it essentially fires APHE (armor piercing high explosive) which pierces the target, then detonates, I would have thought that the blast of the explosion would project outwards in a sphere from the point where the bolt stopped in the marine. Not blowing out the back like an rpg would, which fires a shaped charge which blows up on contact, firing a jet of superheated metal that then goes on top pierce the armor and act like a molten shotgun firing inside the target. I think it would be equal parts funny/cool for this to be done where the space marine helmet is blown off the body like a tank’s turret blowing off the hull when the ammo load goes off.
@smoldoggy1005
Жыл бұрын
APHE explodes in a cone not a sphere, the penetration of the armor and the inner components of the target heavily influence the round’s reaction. This explosion is very accurate to what a real munition like this exploding would simulate
@themos9751
Жыл бұрын
@@smoldoggy1005 APHE explosive fillers are not generally directed. APHE explodes in a "cone" primarily due to the velocity of the shell, not because the explosive filler is directed. What you're seeing with the explosion's "cone" is a sphere projected/stretched forwards due to the filler's existing velocity. You can see this in action in a simulation here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/d6iXtK-NmLzAeMo.html&ab_channel=SYSimulations you can see the sphere of the explosive filler flying forward. TL:DR I was assuming that a combination of ceramite ablative + adamantium armor and a space marine's natural toughness/density was just about halting the bolter round inside of them as it went off. If we're to go even more in depth, the bolt would penetrate the space marine's frontal armor and then the front of their solid-plate ribcage, and explode. This would mean the explosive filler (of a .75 caliber shell, not too much filler in something that size) would have to blow through both the space marine's rear solid-plate ribcage/spine and rear armor. And on top of all of that, a primaris marine has metal-infused tendons, meaning there's a relatively elastic layer of dense metal fiber that the bolt will be surrounded by as well.
holycrap just found your channel very cool m8
