This looks like something I would like mainly cause I'm a bobobo fan and wacky over the top humor appeals to me plus look at the clips and you can tell that team was just having fun with this and that's all you can ask for in a comedy series like this..

Zearth did have a minor influence on the series future because it establishes that Ultra’s emotional well being is also important to maintaining their Ultra size, which comes back in Ultraman Z when Haruki is really struggling with the idea of killing innocent monsters. Whenever Haruki gets triggered by attempting to finish a monster, Z immediately drops down to base form and hits the red on his timer.

Zearth is memorable just for having the main villain be Chairman Kaga from Iron Chef. As for modern usage, he and Nice are effectively a Manzai duo in stage shows now.

The toothbrush gag was a reference to the original Ultraman's beta capsule, which was created using a traveling oral care case (used to hold toothpaste and tooth brush)

funny, since i despise root beer and love zearth.

I get it, not for everyone, i dont even think its amazing. But if i may add, the creatives behind these films were a comedy duo that also parodied Kamen Rider in the 80s. Zearth's co-captains are the writers, and they did a re-enactment on there tv show with themselves in the roles of Zearth and Benzene

The tribute to the actor who passed away between the movies is especially funny to me because how the hell did they get a picture of him in the boat from the first movie? That is a superb joke

I remember watching Zearth (the first movie anyway) A LOT when I was a kid. I just think it's nice that what was very obviously a parody Ultraman ended up having an actual canon impact in the overall Ultra Series, when he and Nice appeared in Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Destined Crossroad to help Ultrawoman Grigio fight Reibatos until the NGH arrived. Also, fun fact. Ultraman Xenon? He was actually close to just being Zoffy before Tsuburaya went 'nah I think Ultraman Max needs his own superior officer'.

Weird piece of trivia: both movies were dubbed in Vancouver by Ocean Studios directly for Tsuburaya (seemingly produced alongside another attempt at selling The Ultraman). Reportedly, the intent was to edit the movies together and market them as a single feature. However, they ended up just releasing them individually. It got a home video release in Australia and Southeast Asia, but outside of a limited film fest/convention circuit run, it has never officially been released in North America.

When I discovered this was made, already a fan of ultra 7 on TNT, was astounded. To me this is the absolute best Ultraman movies. It's like Jack Kirby's fantastic 4 run . A stand alone story that can't be redone or equaled. These two movies made me even a bigger Ultraman fan.❤❤

The leader of the Gas Station Team is a legit funny comedian too. You'd figure he'd save this, but sadly not.

But you gonna admit his theme is a certified banger.

My family was on military tour and we were living in Okinawa at the time these movies came out. So I was about 13 at the time. I thought they were dumb, but at that time I was starved for anything new that was monster related. I do get a lot of enjoyment out of the movies still though. The capsule monsters are neat and I really do like Ultraman Shadow (even if he is just a robot). Cotton-poppe is a neat monster as well. And seeing a male and female version of an alien for a Ultra show (that looked that different from one another), was neat to see as well. Sort of wish they would come back, even if it was for one of their side projects like the Absolute Conspiracy or something like that.

the toothbrush is a reference to how the beta capsule that Hayata uses was a modified electric toothbrush!

Can you please make a retrospective of Ultra Galaxy : Mega Monster Battle?

You don't mention it in the video (because you haven't seen it), but Outerman is a piece of Ultraman parody media that I particularly enjoyed. I can't remember if it's actually funny or not (it's been years since I've seen it), but I do remember it being fairly interesting in terms of it's premise and having some actual heart to it, unlike every other film I've seen from the director. Used to be on Toku back in the day but looks like it's on Freevee currently.

I wouldn’t call the Capsule monster comically useless. If anything he’s comically overpowered. While he gets beaten up by Shadow, he actually holds his own against the enemy capsule monster absurdly well and is able to hold his weight, as least until Shadow gains the upper hand.

I just find it hilarious that both Ultraman and Sentai did an anniversary self parody at the same time. With Zearth and Carranger.

I used to play that Ps1 game a lot in my childhood. Each player could turn into Ultraman Zearth to fight the monster in a rock paper scissor style tatics but you had to buy/upgrade your stats through running around the board. You gain money / zenny through good landing on the board or playing through vs minigames agaisnt other players or cpu. Honestly some fun childhood memories of it! Couldnt read japanese at the time so I could never get too far in the game but fond memories! I reckon it would be good streaming material with a friend or two!

Oke for the first time. I disagree with a lot of your comments... Felt a bit sad about it as Zearth is kinda one of the Ultramen that defines my childhood, and I could still watch it now .. But yeah I still respect your opinion, just that I can't watch the whole video knowing that my views and yours differ by a mile... You know, I was happy to know someone made a video about Zearth... But yeah disappointed at last...

Gotta say, I'm a little miffed that you didn't mention the villain is played by Takeshi Kaga, best known as Chairman Kaga from the Iron Chef TV series.

I saw Zearth And it’s sequel all the way through, I had no experience with Ultraman before watching it. Outside of like an episode of Ultraseven, it was pretty weird for a first time experience, I kept saying to myself “ yeah everything is lost on me and this is definitely built around. The idea of the supporting cast is previous ultras.” The only thing that stayed with me is the ending chant. “ shwatch, shwatch, gambare zearth!” And the whole fucking toothbrush transformation
