Ultraloq U Bolt Smart Lock Keypad Deadbolt Install and Setup

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Ultraloq U bolt smart keypad entry deadbolt door lock installation. With wifi bridge. Schlage or Kwikset touch screen smart connect, keypad deadbolt should be quite similar to this install. Ultraloq sent me this for free to try out, and after using it for a month I really like it and recommend it.

I put this in today and it was easy to install and setup. Replaced my existing deadbolt so I didn’t need to do any additional drilling aside from make the hole behind the strike plate (I reused the existing one) slightly deeper to accomodate the bolt. Was surprised how smoothly it went and how quick the install was.

Be aware of the Auto-lock feature. If you set the Auto-lock function on, the door will lock in a preset chosen time (default is 30 seconds). When I arrive home and open the door, I usually leave the door open so we can see out the glass storm door. So then in 30 seconds, the door Auto-locks (the bolt extends out). Then whenever I go back to close the door, I have to manually unlock the door (so the bolt is drawn back inwards) so it can be closed . Overall, I am very pleased with this Ultraloq deadbolt !

I’m totally installing something like this on our next house. I installed them for our condo front and rear entry. Love them. I would have done our unit but we knew we were selling. Can’t believe we didn’t do it years sooner. No more getting locked out taking the garbage out. Keys are for suckas!

It has done really well so far yes. This is my first experience with a smart WiFi deadbolt so I can speak for all of them but this seemed to do well. It works with assistants like Alexa and google home too but I don’t have any to try it out with.

What keyway is this lick in please? You needed to tell folks that those 3 inch screws need to go into the studding around the door. A guide hole for the screws helps insure no splitting of the studding. The finish you have is referred to as durodinic. Nowadays the locks are powder coated. Oil rubbed brass is called a living finish and will rub off. I have been a locksmith since 1981 in October. I sold lock & door security products for a major lock supply company for 10 years. I appreciate your review. The locks grading needed to be stated. Grade 1,2,or 3.

Hi thanks for the comment. How do I tell what grade it is, is that something to ask the manufacturer? The key itself is designed a lot like a Schlage key.

The manufacturer should state that. For home exterior use at the least grade 2. I use grade 1. The strikeplate is key to the protection needed. A 4 digit code yields 4 to the 10th in possible codes. It looks like a decent deadbolt lock. The throw of the DB should be at least 1 inch. Modern doors are prepped with RCS (round corner strike). If I can help you in any way, just ask. ❤️
