I've had carpal tunnel before but this game gives me a different kind of pain. It doesn't feel quite the same, not really the deep dull pulse you get with carpal tunnel. It fucks my fingers up as well as my elbows, right shoulder, and hands/wrist in general. But just not quite in the same way as carpal tunnel has in the past from typing on chromebooks.

i dont feel any pain when playing the game i think aiming with arm and/or changing keybinds for weapons might help, i have shotgun on q, revolver on mouse5, nailgun on z and railcannon on r

I love Gabriel’s fight cause he feels so impossibly difficult at first but if you actually try learning him for the P rank he’s surprisingly easy to clown on

If V1 were to get a "voice", (in lore most machines forego it for efficiency) it would use it to "sing" the shop theme.

Point tip: The green railcannon can also be interacted as the nailgun's magnet shot, not sure if it's a spoiler but take it as you will :)

Tip: if you use the Green railcannon in a mindflayer they cant tp, use te whiplash to close the Gap and... Blood for the V1

Another thing I find interesting is the setting in the game, since is hell as depicted (more or less) by Dante in the Divine Comedy. So since Act I were in Limbo, Lust and Gluttony, the first three circles, one can asume Act II will be in Greed, Wrath and Heresy, and Act III will be in Violence, Fraud and finally Treachery.

Greed is confirmed. It's desert themed, and has an aestetic similar to Limbo, with skyboxes pained on walls to make it look like you're actually outside.

The fact that there are 3 secret levels, 4 now, 2 secret bosses, more secrets, gun tech like shotgun swapping and railcoining and even more, movement tech like dash storage and slam storage that he HASNT FOUND OUT ABOUT STILL is AMAZING and makes me real happy about the direction this game is going in with the learning curve

The point about New Blood proteges being nice people is especially relevant now that 3DRealms is giving attention to SgtMarkIV, infamous neo nazi creator of Brutal Doom.

This game is insanely good and even the early access version with only 4 different weapons and a couple different mods feels really complete. Can't wait for the full version.

This game makes me tense up so much when I play it but it makes my brain do the good

In my 30 years of life i was never excited about any game like Ultrakill. I spend at least 40 hours in demo and now pumping 60+ hours in early access version of Ultrakill. This game is like the most perfect FPS er... fist person action game i ever played.

Facepunch is down, but Knockout is the spiritual successor where Hakita still roams!

Parrying your own Shotgun pellets was a BUG/GLITCH.... and the dev MADE IT INTO a feature.... that's a eveloper worth respecting, he/she won't piss on players who found a funny glitch/exploit/bug or try to kill it... but embrace it when it's nothing but a good accidental idea

I can’t fight ya, Scarf: Borderlands 3’s combat and movement is fun. This game looks great as well, love the sound design. Definitely gonna check it out when I can. I finished Maximum Action a while back and had fun but wanted a bit more. This is so much more, looks like a lovely companion game to that one.

As of this video, theres a new update with a new arm, the whiplash. Its a grappling hook, carry small enemies to you, you to large enemies, and you to some floating green orbs

Fun fact, Swordsmachine, according to the enemy files, is capable of speech, they just haven't yet. Another fun fact, the icon for the the last arm you unlock is yellow.

I thought the same thing about the alt revolver when I first fought Gabriel. Turns out the real key to beating him was to improve at dodging. Plus the alt marksman can't split shot.

Alt Marksman coins SHOT by the alt marksman won't split... but if you hit the coin with the charger (or charger alt) it will.... yes, if your marksman is the alt an you want the split, use charger, if you using normal marksman an wawnt the alt piercing rico, use charger on it..... Ultrakill is the first game in ages to build around simplicity and fully synergetic game mechanics, simple mechanics, all fuse together for a VERY deep mechanics wise game

The nailgun's magnet has a bonus that I feel I should mention: if you have a bunch of nails on one magnet, then fire another magnet PAST it, the nails will latch on to the new magnet and hurl towards your enemies. And if you have two magnets out at once, you can get a swarm of nails flying between them like angry bees. Oh, and you can ricochet the railcannon off the coin.

Top tip for the pump shotgun: the i-frames from the dash counts for the overcharged explosion, meaning you can become the missile without taking any damage yourself by overpumping and then shooting as you dash. Top tip 2: the nails of the overheat nailgun still go towards the magnetic tracker of the basic nailgun, so you can basically get full accuracy with the insane flurry of nails, then switch back to the basic to not loose any fire rate. Top tip 3: projectiles reflected from coins hit other coins before enemies, meaning you can chain coins by throwing out multiple, each coin increasing the damage. Coins also work for most any hitscan projectile, including the electric railcannon shot. smaller side tip: the alternate version of the marksman can't do a split shot. make of that what you will. Top tip 4: the main draw to the drill isn't the damage over time (though it is good), its the increased healing (blood) radius and speed at which blood shoots out. You can basically become immortal for large chunks of boss fights and larger brawls by shooting it out and sticking near the enemy you shot (which is very useful for a certain angelic asshole). Top tip 5: one of the secret levels, while not currently in the game, requires you to P rank all of the levels in act 1. Good luck!

for tip 3: marksman alt rico is a PIERCING RICO that deals MULTIPLE damage instances on what it hit. the marksman an it's alt have a SPECIFIC feature, if you throw the coin of its version, swap to the charger and hit the coin, the effectthe rico will have it THE OPPOSITE one (if default marksman, it becomes alt marksman rico and vice versa)

sounds crazy but the intro footage of ultrakill feels tame after watching herb messiah's speedruns

I love this game so much and he's only finished 2 chapters. It's so much fun and the soundtrack is by far one of my favorite this year. The simplistic story, style system, I love the whole thing.

Hey, quick note! This probably a bit late, but for everybody else, if you flip a coin behind the flamethrower guys, also known as the streetcleaners, it'll ricochet into their fuel tank, causing them to explode. Handy for getting rid of large groups of enemies, or even just to get rid of the streetcleaners quick.

And now they're adding quad wielding in the second act :))

This really reminds me of Bulletstorm in terms of gameplay, but much faster, looks like a lot of fun!

Despite Gabriel being the epitome of a Vergil reference, V2 feels like the TRUE Vergil of this game. The second I saw him I just immediately thought "Guts and Honor" immediately after he bowed before the fight. He feels like an equal, which was what Vergil was, rather than the mountain staring down at you, which is what Gabriel felt like.

There is so much humour you missed! One of Gabriel's quotes when he taunts you is "You make even the devil cry." and others

You think the Nailgun decimates Malicious Faces, you try using the alternate revolver's piercer

and now the whiplash just grapple it is perfect

the best part of this game is the alowing for custom playstyles like the slower and harder hitting revolver

The Knuckleblaster technically can parry because of the blast

The second Shotgun is great, and I recommend you try to practice with it. After no lifing this game recently I can say that the weapons I rate the highest are Pump Charge Shotgun, all the Railguns, and the Coin Revolver, in that order. Spoilers for all the current weapons in the game. Pump Charge is great at getting your health back, even uncharged, and can CHUNK a boss for 6-7 damage if you pump it twice and use it like a melee attack. The big advantages over the Core Eject shotgun are that the weapon fires much MUCH faster, it can do more damage point blank, overcharging it can get you to Ultrakill in a single well placed shot, it heals you a ton, It's easy to get in a good meatshot to heal from 20 to 100 if you slide in under enemy bullets. It's also better than Core Eject because, if you melee with the parrying arm the moment your pellets leave the gun, you'll parry one of your own pellets turning it into an explosive shot that does the same knockback, radius, and damage as the Core Eject, but flies in a straight line, as well as all your other pellets still coming out, letting you deal 9 damage point blank. It's got tons of damage, it's got consistent damage, it can knock fliers out of the sky, it heals you a ton, it can kill whole crowds, you can rocket jump with it, and it can even give you kills off of environmental hazards 10/10 Insane, skill based weapon. All the railguns are good, either for burst damage on bosses, taking out crowds in one shot from range, or making fountains of healing in tricky situations. The Marksman Revolver lets you shoot enemies in the head from around a corner. Not great against certain enemies, but great against most small enemies. Also you can throw all 4 coins directly up and get quad kills if you do it right, as well as punching your own coin and shooting it for insane damage... Charged revolver is okay till you get the railgun, then it's just outclassed in both its functions. Core Eject Shotgun is a straight up downgrade. Magnetic Nailgun is cool for combos, but it's too slow, and doesn't take enemies out before they can hurt you. Overheat Nailgun is great against the big heads, and situational otherwise... parrying is OP so while the explosion on the second arm is cool I'd rather jump up, then parry a shotgun pellet down for the same effect. I'm really glad you got into this game. It's fun, rewarding, and the skill ceiling is insane. I absolutely cannot wait for Episode 2 when it comes out, and I'll be there on launch to nerd over it as much as you will, I imagine.

Back after Episode 2's first layer game out. I can say I didn't know about the alternate Piercer at the time, so that went up in my rankings. The marksman went up as I got even better with it. The Core Eject went up slightly, because of the recent buff, but I still feel like I get more out of the Pump Shotgun and Shotgun Swapping. Also the Nailguns went down a peg for me, the reballanced versioned sucked all enjoyment I had out of them. Also the Knucklebuster went up a tier for me because you can grapple hook into a large enemy and blast them with the shotgun and a thicc punch at the same time, before letting the explosion clear all the wimps around you.

You also forgot something. 3 charges and dash so you get invulnerability *just* after you shoot. It'll still do the explosion and it won't damage you if you do it well.

I've learned a ton, and since this post the Core Eject got buffed, and I think a patch came out that made its combo easier. I'd say my favourite weapons are the Variant Marksman, and Pump Charge in that order. I know the Pump Charge explosion tech, it's another reason that the Pump Charge is usually better than the Core Eject, but I'll say that the Core Eject combo with the Malicious Railgun is useful for wiping whole rooms of trash enemies, can arc grenades over terrain, and is the single best way to deal with a certain annoying enemy in P-1. The Marksman also climbed up high because I got good, and found it was the most skill expressive gun in the game (In my opinion). Also since then the Nailguns got reworked, and I'm not a huge fan of the new designs. I just don't like that there's another gun that's functional for a moment, then goes on a cooldown, because that's what the railcannons are for. Sometimes I break out the Overheat against a Malicious Face after grappling to it, but that's the extent of my use for it. I can consistently get to insane scores without ever using Adraptor, and barely using the Overheat, so they got knocked to the bottom of my tier list. I just always feel better using Shotgun Swapping in situations they'd be useful for, with a singular exception where they do bonus damage to Malicious faces.... My current tierlist would be; A: Marksman Variant. Pump Charge. Electric Railcannon, Malicious Railcannon, Feedbacker, Whiplash. B: Marksman, Piercer Variant, Knuckleblaster, Core Eject. C: Overheat. F: Piercer, Adraptor, Screwdriver. Oh, also Screwdriver got dumped to F tier because it's niche use for healing got replaced with Whiplash's ability to get you into range of an enemy for an easy heal off the shotguns. Oh, also the fact that we have sand covered enemies now makes it go down another peg. It's a bad crutch in boss fights at best, and useless at worst.

Here's some other ridiculously cool things you can do with coins Punch the coin to knock it into an enemy, this will hit the enemy without breaking the coin, so you can shoot the coin right after. Use other hitscans on the revolver. This is an ULTRA Ricoshot. Hit it with the pierce shot, electric railcannon, or malicious railcannon to ricochet THAT from the coin. LINK MULTIPLE COINS. This causes the shot to ricochet between all the coins and build up even more damage.

Whoever makes the combat music likes the Amen Break drum loop.

I personally had a harder time with V2 than with gabriel or the corpse king, probably cause V2 is your size and speed while the others are pretty big targets

So I found out you can one-shot malicious face. It takes a railcoin shot with 3 coins

It took me 71 attempts to beat Gabriel in violent mode, and without the secret revolver, but the satisfaction was the best at the end

if you combine the overdrive with the nail grabbing all the ammo it can actually crash your game but its REALLY powefull.
