If there’s ever achievements for this game, they should add one for doing clash mode on this specific level and make its name a metal gear solid reference. Something like “Earth Mover Solid”

the fact theres boxes in specific places that help means they went through the effort in making the levels possible in clash mode. dumbshit like this is why I love this game

Basically if the series stuck with the "modern sonic" course of direction. This exact music would be playing, it would be the beginning of the game, and it would open with a dramatic debriefing cutscene about the fate of the world while Crash jumps from a stealth bomber while playing The Burning Man by Wasp.

Would’ve been super funny if you could just send the whole Earthmover flying by spinning next to it.

It would have been very on point for ULTRAKILL's humour, but I am glad we have a boss that can be fully played in Clash Mode, compared to say the Prime Souls, where you just one shot them.

I'm assuming "no restarts" refers to not restarting from a checkpoint as dying before getting a checkpoint does not prevent the "no restarts" bonus from appearing at the end of a level.

The reason you start with no weapons at the beginning of the game is because this is how V1 was designed to fight, he just wants to use normal weapons for a challenge

ultrakill actually looks like a platformer if it wasnt violent and didnt have guns and was just like this because this level works surprisingly well

That’s part of why the game feels so good to play, all the hit boxes are really big so you hit your shots way more (especially noticeable with rail cannon - you can completely miss with that thing and still kill stuff)

A lot of games do this with the player character's hitbox. If it were actually as big as the character's dimensions, you end up with lots of moments where projectiles and attacks feel like they shouldn't have landed in FP view. Just kind of a quirk about perspective. Players usually judge that sort of thing by how close it seems like the attack was to the center view of the camera, so if it technically would have hit like a shoulder, or something generally off center from the camera, it can still feel weird or unfair. Especially since 1 inch away from your shoulder and close enough to HIT your shoulder can be really a really hard thing to gague.
