It wasn't done though. I still needed to finish some details to make it even better. I created a French Cleat holder for my table saw, modified my scroll saw to be clamped anywhere, built a French Cleat large paper roll holder, added electrical outlets, and most importantly, built a comfy swivel seat that slides out when in use and hides away when not in use. The seat really makes this a unique workbench. Enjoy!

I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great kzread.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
A suggestion - Attach a dolly wheel to the bottom of the stool to ensure it does not fail in the future. Those slides will eventually fail with extended use.

How would that work? With any attachment directly under the stool, it can't slide in nearly as far as it needs to. Also, it would pretty much ruin the soft puzzle mats he uses. What's the advantage of buying a wheel that reduces how good your workbench is, if you can also just buy new slides in a couple of years? You may even be able to just flip the slides around side to side if they start sagging. It's not like they're going to be extended often, so the only real wear they could have is sag. It'll be many years before those things wear down, so it's just not worth adding a wheel underneath it.
That french cleat for the saw is pure genius.

This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection kzread.infoUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.

The patience he has with the dogs getting in his work space. Great dog dad right there.
The french cleat versatility here is brilliant.
This guy loves his french cleates
Looks like the brown dog has staked a claim to the shelf on the bottom. Add a soft pad for him to sleep on. Excellent build, I am thinking of a smaller version for my garage. Thanks for the inspiration.
Best dog fetching video I seen all day.
4:55 Ha. He's probably thinking, Oh, a nice mat, I'm gonna sit here. Now I need to go hug my dog.
I tortured myself designing an integrated table saw into my bench only to learn I don’t use it as much as expected. I love the idea of simply hanging it onto the edge when needed. Good call👍🏿🔨🪚
Enjoy your dogs. I lost mine over five years ago and I miss him so very much. I know they can be a pain when you're working, but you'll miss them, so enjoy them now! 🐶🐶🐶
The table saw french cleat is brilliant enough for its own video. Where the heck was this video 4 years ago when I was building my bench!! well done, sir.
Glad to see the Corgi clearance on the table saw; so often an overlooked measurement!

Dogs are some of the smartest people I know. Your pair are pretty sharp. By the way, your work bench is brilliant. Somebody mentioned putting a shelf by the USB ports. It's half a good idea. Put a groove in the shelf to stand your phone up.
The French cleat table saw is an unreal idea
It's funny how I'm watching shop upgrade videos but I NEED to upgrade my shop as well. Great video though gives me Ideas for my shop! Thanks Ben
Hey, dude. For the seat, why don’t you attach a wheel/caster and cut a notch (or maybe fold-up wheels) so that when you extend the seat, the weight is not supported by the slides alone?

when he said 150 lbs....I was like....yeah, I am outx2. I would have to have a tripod wheel to support my beefy behind.
I'd say thats the nearest workbench I have ever seen, and I'm 70.Your the BEST,THANKS FOR THE GREAT CONTENT.
I can’t lie. I’m only here for the pups. LOL Jk. Nice work. I like the use of the French cleats. Simple but very functional.
I love the idea of the versatile French cleat.
That front flip was sick
You were smart to build the table as low to the ground as you did. Not for the center of gravety and all that but when your dogs toys roll under an area they can not retreive them from and you have stop what your doing, find a stick or whatever to get their toy for them. Your a good Dad!
Ben that french cleat on the side of the bench is GENIUS!!! I was so looking forward to this build but that table saw out-feed cleat exceeded my expectations!!!

Just built my French cleat tonight .. Ben the Inspirerererer
I'd really like to see you do a video on the things you hate and/or would have done differently.
would recommend that you update the seat so the 4x4 piece under the seat is longer and extends towards the floor but just short, so when the seat flexes when you are sitting the lower "Leg" piece touches the floor and make the seat more stable and help prevent your sliders from bending or pulling out screws. you could even add adjustable rubber foot ( screw type) to the "Leg" so you can adjust the flex amount.
You could add a fold-out foot on the bottom of the swivel stool to support you when you sit on it and take some stress off the drawer slides. You can build it so it folds up when you slide the chair in and drops out when you pull the chair out.
Your table is very nice, but your dogs are great! You are a good man!
Love the dog outtakes. There is more to life than work. Got a new subscriber.
Ok tough guy, let’s see you flip off the table with the table saw hooked up and running. This was great man, gave me perfect blue print to build mine. I really like the cleat for table saw. Also, don’t underestimate some heavy duty casters. 4 good casters can handle 1000lb no problem. 8 will be sufficient for elephant roller skates.
Those casters in video will easily hold 1000lbs. My work bench moves with them. It’s similar.
The addition of the dog tax at the end made my day, the gentle lovely giant and the play full corgi made me "awh" and smile to no end. Thank you sir. Owh and the workbench is also cool.
I have been looking to design and build a workbench for week's but have now stopped having seen your video. I think it's brilliant Ben. Time to start cutting wood.
How in the world he doesn't have more than 1M subscribers, at least 1M
Love the dogs! Thanks for including them!
I've watched several of your videos before but never subscribed until now. That french cleat for the table saw is genius!!!!! I built your modular workbenches a couple of months ago and every time I go out to the shop I find myself using them. Keep up the fantastic video's sir, you are an inspiration. Thank you.
Best of Workshop Shop Dogs, Awesome Build by the Way Thanks Much
the seat is a game changer I am going to steal that one! Also, the table saw is sketchy to me but idk. Great ingenuity on this one.
I love you Corgi! I have a Chihuahua/Border Collie cross that is exactly the same with the ball and even has a squeaky ball she absolutely loves to play catch with (along with a half dozen old tennis balls)! Great bench, btw!!!!
Dude I do not think you know how much I enjoy about your videos it is really make my day PLEASE keep it up!!

It’s good to see you were properly supervised during the build. Amazing work!!
Love how the dogs are included in the build!!! A great, functional build!! Well Done!
You should look into getting a single caster wheel to roll under that chair for extra stability.
Those dogs LOVE you man!!! That's awesome!!!!!
Love it. I might suggest moving the power around the corner instead of right behind you. I feel like it might get in the way as you have things plugged in and you go to stand up? Great ideas!! Thanks for sharing. I enjoy your videos.
You can also add a skater ramp to the bench, and a house for the dog.
4:20 great idea for mounting the table saw, but I really think it needs additional support in the bottom, going directly onto your floor. The bend in the cleat becomes very visible when you add the saw, it's just not meant to support that weight. Could have safety issues...
I love the Idea for the paper roll holder.
Very nice! If I may, a 4" square steel box with a mullberry cover would be a superior wiring device.
4:51 I can SO relate! Think the inclusion of the dogs in the process makes it so much more realistic. Enjoyed the making of the work bench, and this follow up with all the extras and goodies that make it even better is fantastic. Idea-- put a second french cleat below to hold the paper roll as you use the table saw?

I like your table and your dogs attitude !
Love the USB ports in the outlet!

My favorite part of your videos are the dogs, especially the incessantly ball focused corgi. I had a pug who was a retriever in spirit. She’s not with me anymore, but she was the same way, dropping her ball or toy right in front of me, or on my feet to get my attention, often giving a little ‘woof’ to make sure I noticed. Cheers.
Very cool workbench, nice ideas! 💪🏻👍🏻 Now can you please built some wooden boxes to cover up that blue plastic boxes for the sockets ? 🙏🏻😉
Oh man, this is the best workbench I've ever seen! Only compatible with one other. I love absolutely everything about it, namely the compatibility with French cleats and seat. If I had the paper it would be for doodling designs haha. I'm really impressed
Brilliant, that seat is genious
9:08 I do a lot of thinking too about my projects! I love the French cleat for the table saw, I plan on doing that also AND one for my home made router table.
The French cleats to the edge of the table are brilliant! I was thinking of routing a channel into a piece of ply or mdf skirting. It would accept the male profile of the cleat, so as to keep the perimeter of the workbench flush. You still get the functionality.
Love it. The cleat system on your walls also came in handy. As usual, your "supervisors" stole the show. Look at fuzzbutt making sure your puzzle mat is OSHA compliant.
Young man. I have watched a lot of videos since the pandemic hit, with many different subjects as I learn new skills. Your video and commentary is one of my favorites of all time not only because of your design but your thought process shared as well. I'm a good judge of talent and you have Talent with a capital T. I hope you paid your two helpers with a couple of snacks....
I like the paper roll. I used 1” black pipe for mine with the pipe caps on the outside of the wood support to keep the pipe and roll in place.
GREAT JOB ON THE WORK TABLE BEN GREAT IDEAS ,FROM DOUG
Thanks Ben for posting. I live in Armenia now, and there is a war here, so your videos are most welcome as a break from the chaos around me.
I love this concept....I built something similar in my first locksmith van....great work...!!!
You could also attach the Seat in linear guids, which are placed on the left and right sight of the seating area
I love the interchangeable options you installed. Beautiful table.
OMG the best, you're brilliant. The dogs are an added bonus! Love Love Love
Its nice to see French Cleats being used for something other than making tool mounts then being hung on a wall. Thanks for the great idea of using it for a tablesaw attachment.
Definitely going to build one like this. It’s a beast. God job man
I can’t wait to see you start a project……this really exciting for me. As always, be the best you can be and ENJOY 😊
Love your techniques and your doggies lol. Great hob on the bench. Long time coming and finally you have it :)
Such a great job Ben! And lots of great ideas for the rest of us :)
It’s so encouraging to see such genius at work. You’ve got a wonderful, fulfilling life ahead of you. ‘Love the dogs getting your attention.
Ive seen many table saw work tables, but this is the most unique due to the method used for hanging the table-saw. Dope!
Sweet. Just install a non steerable HD caster under the upright supporting the seat. It will move with the slide, and will help hold maybe 300lbs. Cheers
have watched a lot of your channel this week - fantastic channel, great information and excellent direction/filming - thank you ! This addition to the ultimate workbench is fabulous, thank you and Congratulations Dodgers !!!!!!
Красава, за сальтуху отдельный респект 👍
Just want to start out by saying that this is an awesome design. I definitely am inspired to redo my main workbench. Also wanted to say that Rockler sells some amazing workbench casters that mount on the outside of the table legs and will fold out of the way so that the weight of the bench, while stationary, is completely on the legs/frame. They support up to 400 lbs a piece.
I am lovin' the table saw cleat - nice work.
That is one of the best builds ever, well done!!!
And the whole time, the pups are like "Hi dad! I halp?!?!? Oh, wait. THROW THE SQUEAKY!!! Ok, now I halp?!?!?"
What a nice and functional and easy to build workbench. Thank you.
Awesome table, I am so gonna use some of those ideas on the one I build for myself. GREAT JOB!!!
I can so relate to the dog thinking the mats belong to him! If I throw anything on the floor, the first thing my dog does is lay on it!
