As a person who also rocks a laptop setup, having ports at the back of the laptop is surely an aesthetic blessing. Having cables through the sides is such an eyesore for me.

@@MatthewMoniz Exactly this could be done with an 4800H RTX 2060 laptop probably less TBH. Depends what your performance goals are which will mostly be driven by the games you play.

@SidKillz should try his solution with routing one to iGPU with the other on dGPU
@joelconolly5574

@SidKillz according to Matt the external display is routed to your dGPU while the laptop display runs on iGPU. This means that your external is running on Nvidia for better performance.

Cool video! I really liked how you showed off some budget options for video and audio that can apply to any steamer that's starting out. I do have a few questions if you don't mind them. Does the mic pick up the laptops fans when streaming? Also a mux switch or video output that goes directly to the dgpu is necessary, but are there any other spec requirements or recommendations you have? An example would be Nvidia vs amd gpu or may be something like certain companies having too much software bloat for a good streaming experience out of the box. Overall your set up looks immaculate and I'm excited to see how you like it going forward!

I use a SFF PC but I really like this setup it’s almost like a switch you can game in your desk. But if you go out you can just take the laptop with you and game some more 😊
Please do a top 5 gaming laptops video with portability and battery life as a great focus.
I like it. I'll do this but I'm not streaming. Thank you for the idea
make a video using two laptops one for gaming and use 2nd for streaming also tell in detail how to connect/sync two laptops for this particular setup.
Hi, Matthew love your videos. can you please review the New 2021 Hp Envy 15?
I'm getting a laptop because I move in between homes each week so this is nice to see
Hi @matthew moniz can you please go over how you know if your laptop has a Mux switch? And if I’m the event a laptop doesn’t have one, how you route the GPU directly to the display port as you mentioned? Sorry just trying to work out if this is even possible with my laptop and I’m not the most tech savvy! Your video has helped massively so far so I truly appreciate it and followed you
Just connect the monitor arm onto the laptop arm stem and get rid of the other stem so theres just one mount attached to the desk
What's the wallpaper called ??? It looks so nice. And like everytime your videos are amazing and well made.
I have a good MSI gaming laptop and one thing I can't find online is a good review about docking stations. If you're gaming on dual monitors from a laptop, is it better to plug everything directly into the laptop? Or can you get similar performance through a docking station? I can't test this on my own, I'm hoping a tech channel will do this one day.
How is the fan noise when streaming? I imagine you can reduce the noise so the viewers don't hear the fans as much?

Thanks for the review. Given your experience with both gaming desktops and laptops, I wonder if the performance difference is massive and noticeable? Would you be able to make a comparison and provide details. Appreciated.

I think based on my experiences. Laptop these days almost same performance as desktop variant. BUT, i think desktop still wins. in what? Desktop wins because the upgradebility and component reliability. Laptop tends get hotter faster than desktop, because it gets hot faster then the longetifity of the laptop will gradually decreases. And if your laptop dies within 3 years then you have to replace your laptop. And the amount of money you pay for that laptop is so expensive. In conclusion, for Long Term Uses desktop always win.

@@marcy2693 Thanks Marcy for sharing your thoughts. Indeed, it makes sense technically and financially.
would it be advisable to use the ge76 with the lid closed for gaming etc and daily use?
Not a streamer but when using a G15 and having it getting as hot as it does running my games, it helps to have a way to let it get air and be able to play some of the games I love so thank you lol
Hey, i really love your setup and want to do it for my desk too. But can I use the linked Laptop Arm for a Laptop too? The Amazon page shows a Monitor Arm. Greetings from Germany.
Could you please update this setup video and also go through how to setup everything for 1440p streaming and gaming in one in 2023 which laptop would you recommend? Thank you
Ngl this gave me determination to become a gamer and also a streamer. i just a desk and a better internet
Can you change title to corsair lol , btw good quality video
Pls make a top 5 gaming laptop per screennsize (14, 15 and 17 inches). Thanks!
How I wish to have a good laptop😍. Been using a travelmate Intel Celeron 1007U
I also stream using a laptop as well. I use stadia so no issues. 😁👍🏽
Genius!
Hey Mat just been watching a ton of your content lately since I switched to laptop from desktop, can I ask if the rear type c port of the lenovo legion 5 laptop can be used as a display port? for extra monitor
Think I could set this up in a semi sleeper? 😀. Great laptop! I’m changing careers and wanting a laptop to ply and stream from while I’m out (internet depending)
I have almost the same laptop, MSI GS 76 and the same monitor. But to be sure you did say to select MSHyrid mode correct? I thought I heard from MSI that the discrete mode was better for gaming.
dude i got almost identical setup... (guess this kinda setup makes most sense nowadays) just so you know how similiar im talking: laptop (asus strix g15 ae), secondary screen (acer 34" ultrawide), 60% keyboard (hyperx), wireless mouse (razer orochi), wireless headset (logitech pro x), elgato facecam and wave 1
ngl, if i had enough money for that laptop, i might as well buy a pc lol
What are you using for capturing/streaming the footage? Like an elgato capture card that plugs into the hdmi going to the second monitor?
Would the blade 14 be able to use the 2nd monitor without the performance loss? I'm thinking of buying it to replace my old one, as it's reaching almost 8 years old now😅
I noticed that Matthew looks to the side unusually often. Still great vid!

When a laptop costs more than you
What's the name of that laptop holder thing? It looks good.
I wish he said how big the desk is I want this exact one
Hey Matthew i have a question will there be a major performance drop if I use 2 external monitors with my laptop closed instead of using my monitor as a secondary monitor because mostly laptop screens are small and the keyboard gets in the way which also gives not such a clean look I would really appreciate it if you could help me out here Thanks
I dont know why but when he said in 3:25 to 3:30 i started laughing after an hour it gives you brain damage
Is it possible to use capture card for laptop for better performance? My Acer Predator only come up with 1660ti graphics card so I'm always looking for a solution to optimize performance when streaming.
minimalist setup for gaming
Could you make a video about streaming from an iPad + laptop (mac).
How about an Intel Nuc setup?
I have a question. I’m looking into a labtop cooling pad, or a stand. Which one do you think i should get. Or should I get a labtop arm? I want my labtop to be eye level with my monitor and I’m planning on using a monitor arm as well.

Still kinda new to PC Gaming, Is the Razer Blade 2020 Base, Do what MM described in the video? if I was to run OBS and stream on the laptop monitor, woudl this used the iGPU and play the games off an external monitor using the discrete GPU?
what do use to connect a laptop to an external monitor? btw i use the ge66 raider.. same laptop but diff size and specs
is the hybrid mode on lenovo legion laptops the same as a mux switch and should i turn that on if i am streaming using the lenovo laptop ?
i have to use a laptop it's the only computer i could get since it's for school. it's not the best but ive seen people use it for streaming
Nice set up. i just don't get why there are 2 clamp poles(not sure what's it called). you can just utilize the left one and mount both monitor and laptop tray to get the floating effect. but all in all its great and clean.
