Dude, it is so funny when everything salty you said it is cheese. Dont forget about salt. 😆 and, there is no cheese inside the tofu in bakso. Sometime it is chicken/beef meat with flour, or just sticky rice flour/dough. But, I am glad you try almost everything. 😄

Indonesia has more banana variant, but some of em usually used for making fried banana. The variant that i know is kepok banana, raja/king banana, horn/tanduk banana, uli banana, nangka banana.

Most Indonesian food n drink must mix/stir first before you eat or drink them, some soup like bakso must add some salt, kecap manis and red sauce (not spicy like sambal)

1:45 frittierter Maniok 3:10 frittierte Süßkartoffel 3:45 Gorengan Mantan. Gorengan ist einfach die Bezeichnung für die frittierten Sachen wie Bananen, Tofus, Manioks und Süßkartoffeln. Mantan bedeutet Ex-Freund(in) 6:38 Ikan Bakar. Bakar bedeutet gegrillt 8:40 in Deutschland isst man Reis, Hähnchen und Fisch mit einer Gabel und einem Messer aber in Indonesien ist es üblich dass man sie entweder mit einem Löffel und einer Gabel oder einfach mit einer bloßen Hand isst:) 9:28 die Soße ist Palmzucker 12:52 der Nachtisch wird aus Klebreismehl gemacht. Deswegen ist er sehr klebrig. Die grüne Farbe kommt von Pandanblätter und die anderen Farben Lebensmittelfarben. 23:25 die rote Soße ist Chillisoße und die schwarze süße Sojasoße 24:15 die Nudeln sind keine Instantnudeln. Man kann sie mit den asiatischen Nudeln vergleichen, die man in Rewe oder Edeka kaufen kann. 29:25 richtig, das heisst „pisang molen“ 32:04 „boleh mau satu es buah komplit“ man kann schon verstehen, was du meinst. Wenn du aber dein Indonesisch üben bzw. verbessern möchtest, könntest du „halo, saya mau pesan satu es buah komplit“ sagen. Auf Deutsch übersetzt : hallo, ich möchte geriebene Eiswürfel mit kompletten Früchten bestellen:) 38:42 Wir essen auch Nutella in Indonesien 40:10 Man muss erst das Getränk schütteln, damit der Palmzucker unten gelöst ist. Pop Ice the instant drink is pretty much every kids favorite, my fave flavour is choco biscuits and vanilla latte, i usually get it Rp.5000 with so much toppings like jelly, sprinkles, and cheese haha sometimes they add the koko crunch cereal ❤️

1:56 taste like mashed potato but not sweet? cassava. if it's sweet then it's sweet potato. 3:07 looks like banana but taste like nothing is most likely breadfruit 20:36 it is not green bean, it's mung bean. people mistake this all the time because in literal translation from indonesian is "green bean". and i'm sorry for lara's having a hard time finding vegetarian food. but there are plenty of food you can always just ask for no meat. indonesian people also tend to have inconsistency when it comes to street food (especially foreign food serving) so please don't gave your hopes up and keep looking for the ones to your suitting. great compo thanks for sharing!

1:38 deep fried cassava 2:06 bakwan (basically made of vegies such as cabbage, carrot, bean sprout, sometime they put corn in there too) 2:48 deep fried tofu (yes, it’s a vegan chicken nugget) 3:05 deep fried sweet potato 4:06 yeah, same as you eat before, tofu 40:10 yup, taste weird huh? you didn’t mix the brown sugar on the buttom there😭😭

every city/province has their own style and choice for foods, so most namings are based on the origin of the foods. soto bandung and soto lamongan is like a two different thing even both are technically soto.

Lil bit of friendly advice, when u try Indonesian cuisines or any south east Asia cuisines, make sure u ask to the food vendor or local people how u consume it/how u eat it or drink it, So u can actually enjoy it and gets the taste. Ubi kayu/ singkong is Cassava in english and the taste like potato that you ate from street vendor, and the other one with battered is ubi jalar/ ubi manis is sweet potato.

If you go to Padang restaurant maybe you can try perkedel, it is mashed potato deep fried. Very yummy. Sometimes they also served eggplant with chilli but it's not too spicy. An option for vegetarian

itu es cendol hijau.. harus nya santan, palm sugar nya di aduk/ mix dulu.. karena biasa nya santan di taruh lebih dulu, sedang palm sugar di tuang di atas.. harus nya pedagang nya memberi tahu untuk di aduk sebelum di minum..

We have different kinds of satay. There are Madura style (w/ peanut sauce), Maranggi (marinated in spices before grilled), Taichan (w/ salt and pepper only), Sate Lilit (originally from Bali) etc.

That yellow noodle in bakso is curly egg noodle/dry noodle (mie telur keriting/mie kering). Dry noodle is like instant noodle, you can just boil it. If you wanna eat fresh noodle you can eat Bakmi, Mie Ayam, Mie Celor, Mie Aceh etc.

The one taste like potato is cassava. In Bahasa we called it singkong or ubi kayu or roti sumbu (two latest terms are not so popular lately. The popular term is singkong)

Vegetarian food for Lara: gado gado, karedok, lotek, tempe bacem, gulai tahu, nasi lengko, mendoan (deep fried Tempe with seasoned batter) and still a lot of it i can't remember now. All of those is without meet or eggs, so it's basically vegan

Cendol suppose to be sweet creamy coconut drink, you should mix it until its caramel brown.. to bad we didn’t saw you guys eat things like; babi kecap, rendang, ayam rica rica, pepesan, semur daging, lemper, risolles, pangsit goreng, sambal goreng tempe, perkedel jagun, perkedel kentang, ayam goreng, nasi kuning, petjil, gado gado, rempejeh, rujak.. try this list next time :) you will thank me later

In padang restaurant there is a vegan options, gulai nangka (unripe jackfruit curry, terong balado (spicy eggplant), and sayur daun singkong (steamed cassava leaf with green chilli)

I usually pick Es Campur, but only coconut & avocado. I don't like to add anything else, especially those colorful pearl like jelly. Most indonesian pastry are sweet and made from casava, corn, sticky rice, and sweet potato. And as for martabak, I like pandan martabak (green) with topping mix of cheese, peanut and chocolate sprinkles.
