La Mani in Pasta was, we believe, the best meal we ever had (and we’ve had amazing dinners) and are so happy this was our grand finale last night in Italy! The Roman artichokes, octopus and potatoes, cache e Pepe, lobster linguine, and filet topped with white truffles….and our two bottles of brunello were so delicious we didn’t want the night to end! Thank you for the recommendation!

Loved staying in this neighborhood. Thanks for the info! We stayed at the Unahotel Trastevere and would definitely recommend it.

Trastevere is definitely one of my favorite neighborhoods of Rome. I've been to a large number of them, so that's saying a lot. But the fact that there's so much to do there (not as many touristy things as in the city center), but there's still enough to see and do without getting tired. I was there March 2016 with a group from my university and some of us went to a bar (alcohol served) at around 7pm and had a few shots before going to eat dinner with our group in Trastevere. The bar was absolutely amazing. The bartenders were so nice and all of them spoke perfect English. One of them was Portuguese, which was amazing since I'm half and we connected on that. :) I'll hopefully make my way back to that bar the next time I'm there...if I can remember where it was (all I remember is that it's not far from the basilica).

Watching this makes me so excited for my visit in a couple weeks. Thank you.

Visited Trastevere last week whilst in Rome. One of the locals recommended it for drinking and eating, I wasn't disappointed! The nicest restaurants and the cheapest drinks in Rome, the streets are gorgeous!

Stayed there a couple of years ago. One of my best travel memories ever. Great food - great pizza! Baby squash blossoms and anchovy pizza? Are you kidding me? No! Not kidding! One of the most delicious things I've ever stuffed in my face!

You my dear were the MOST informative from all the videos I watched! Thank you!

After seeing this video I am definitely adding Trastevere to our itinerary! We have 5 nights in Rome so at least 1 day can be there.

Thanks for the tips! We start our vacay in Rome for 3 nights staying in the Prati neighborhood. Then we meet up with family and we're off to Florence. We have 3 more nights we're saving for Rome or somewhere nearby so flying home will be easier. Any suggestions were we should stay (neighborhood wise)? Also thinking about Ostia Antica for a day trip or overnight.

Thanks for your videos. We watched this one before our trip and visited your church. We took some beautiful pictures that I'd like to add but can't. Trastevere's a great neighborhood!

In May, we wandered into Trastevere, having no idea what it was. There are expensive restaurants right next to cheap restaurants. We paid about €8 for a pizza (not a slice), €12 for sea bass, and €2 for a small jug (0.25lt) of wine. Delicious.

Rome is so beautiful! I wish one day i could walk on the street...

Our hotel was in Trastevere. It is a beautiful area. Fabrizio’s is an excellent restaurant there. The fried meatballs were amazing! I highly recommend it.

We've been to Trastevere several times and this is one of the best videos I've seen at capturing its charm.

02:30 Very nice. However, the Madonna and Child are depicted in a mosaic, not a fresco. A fresco, however, can be seen ABOVE this mosaic, though it is very faded.

I think this is where I want to stay while in Rome.

Wonderfully filmed.and really captures the atmosphere of the place. The original inhabitants were probably the Etruscans, but the demise of Ostia Antica gave Trastevere it's moment in history, a real melting pot.

Originally, the Etruscans lived beyond the Tiber, but after the 3rd century BC Trastevere was inhabited mainly by Jewish immigrants, then by others immigrants from many part of the Empire, because they were not Roman citizens and for this reason they were not allowed to live in Rome City and Trastevere was outside the official boundaries of the city of Rome at the time ... So Trastevere was probably the first ethnic district in the western world!

My wife and I will be going next year and will have 7 nights in Rome. There are so many amazing AirBNB options in Trastevere, is it a good place for first time visitors to stay? We dont mind walking at all and typically love being a little out of the way of all the main attractions.

Is Rome tourist spots like the Vatican, Rome city museums open on Saturday, Sunday. I want to book the tour. Checking if I must visit Venice on weekend and Rome during the weekday.

Did the Foodie tour in October, this video was much better than the tour. Food was interesting at only a few of the stops.

Roma is about 5 mil people

I'm headed to Rome during July. First timer. With family of 5. Kids 18, 12, & 8. Is this a place to recommend?. We want to walk around and take public transportation. We were looking near Termini station, but kind of look sketchy.

Should we bring our own vail to visit these churches?

They talk a little fast, but good information . I hope to use their tips next month on my trip.

We’re planning our honeymoon for end of September. I haven’t booked hotel or b&b yet because so scared to pick the wrong one. Know for sure in Trastevere because of this video. Is there some or one can you recommend for 5 nights before our cruise? Tia

I suggest you to make some video about the Eur district and the surrounding areas of Rome(Tivoli, Villa D'este, Castelli Romani, Lakes, Ostia beach, Ostia Antica, the catacombs, the Appia park, and the underground Rome)

Le Mani In Pasta looks lovely, but look at the prices- I can't and won't eat a bowl of pasta for over 30 euros. Restaurants in Italian cities are absurdly expensive- I have to live on the cheapest food going. I wish I could afford restaurants like this.
