I would love to see some suit buying advice for non corporate use. I’m a photographer and would love to wear a suit but don’t need a grey/dark blue suit.

A much needed video. Antonio, please update a video like this every so often as I have begun to purchase suits online. Several reasons for that include not having the time to spend shopping for suits, the pandemic with stores closed and the amazing convenience of shopping online with a wide variety of selection and prices.

I own 5 custom made Indochino suits and 17 custom shirts purchased solely online over the last 10 or so years for looking great at the hundreds of weddings & special events we do each year and have never been disappointed. In the rare instance the fit is a little off, they’ll either credit you to have it tailored locally or they’ll remake the item and send it back out ASAP for free. They made a vest that was part of a 3-piece suit I had made and the suit arrived w/ the vest having a different silk back pattern than I ordered and was also a bit large. After emailing them details and photos, they just remade the vest perfectly and sent it out about a week or so later. I highly recommend Indochino! They keep me looking great for less!

Amazing, so much detail and information. Even goes in depth of each part of the suit and have never heard of the advice on getting each one fitted one at a time. Pretty smart once you think about it. I gotta lose weight to look good in a indochino suit though

Completely unrelated but I wanted to thank you really quick for helping me become a better gentleman. I remember about a month ago I binged a bunch of your videos, and those words from my mom “you dress like a slob” finally clicked. Every day I would dress with sweat pants and a graphic tee. Even I’ll admit, I looked shaggy. I wanted to dress nice, I was just scared of rejection from my schoolmates. After watching your videos, I quickly gained confidence (idgaf mindset), learned how to iron, looked through my grandpa’s closet for nice clothing (he sadly passed away), and learned dress codes. I decided I would shoot for smart/dressy casual every day at school, and I vowed to myself never to dress like a “slob” again. Even at bedtime, I try to wear a sporty polo with some casual (not crappy) pants. I am proud to say I am consistently “the best dressed man in the room.” Or in this case “the classroom.” Thanks Antonio

I think that bespoke and custom tailored suits have the biggest quality, but is there any lingo or way to talk to the tailor about measurements, specifications for the suit. can you consider making a video about talking to our tailor, and how they find what's suitable for their clients? 17:14 which collar style you like, Mr. Centeno? I personally prefer the classic and club styles.

I got a couple pairs of trousers with side tabs recently. And I can confirm they are a pain when you loose or gain weight. Buttons for braces helps though :)

Antonio I have a job interview today for the only job I'v ever truly wanted and with your advice I got nice clothes from friends and put together an outfit. For the first time in my life I'm confident and excited about it. I'm 35 and changing careers from construction so style was a completely unknown topic for me. Never thought I would pick up any real knowledge much less be excited about how I presented myself. It's a whole new world for me. I'm hooked.

"The most expensive clothing you'll ever own are the clothing you never wear" Is a quotable line and a very useful tip. Not preferring to wear something after the first wear is painful as a bad investment and from a sartorial point of view.

Last Year, I bought my first suit and it was custom made and it feels amazing when I wear that suit. Feels like a suit of armour and makes me feels like I'm on top of the world every time I wear that suit.

Good video. Can you do, or have you done, an article or video wherein you discuss the relative merits of online MTM companies, i.e.; M Tailor, Inochino, Hockerty, Black Lapel, etc. ? I am particularly interested in a blazer.

Antonio, I checked out the Indochino web site and their fabric and the most they order is 300 GSM which converts to 8.5 Oz which is a summer weight material. "Wool fabric is denominated by the weight of a one-square yard piece; thus, the heavier wools, suitable for winter-only, are 12-14 oz.; the medium, "three season" (i.e., excluding summer) are 10-11 oz.; and summer wools are 7-8 oz. (In the days before central heating, heavier wools such as 16 oz. were used in suits; now they are used mainly in overcoats and topcoat.) " Semper Fi Captain.

I would be really happy if you were to look into cutting the buttons off your clothes, and applying much more attractive ones. That suit you wore in this video (in my opinion, obviously) would look absolutely sick with some two-toned, polished onyx buttons.

Have over 5 custom suits. My most recent ones are super 150s. Once you go custom it is tough to buy off the rack anymore. All of my customs are through J. Hilburn. Any comments on them Antonio? (They’re based in Texas)

Please make a video on running in the morning. Should you jog or run, how long or distance to cover, eat before or after? So many questions, not a good guide online.

In a small shop in a local area believe it or not suit looks pretty decent

I remember buying my first suit from Zara, literally spent more than hour inside the store to decide. That suit though is still the only one bought and getting used occasionally, after a decade.

Some fabrics like linen or a linen blend can make the suit look very casual. You might feel more comfortable wearing a casual suit. Colour can make a big difference too. If you get a grey suit it will look like you’re open the way to the office.

The pattern of the suit and accessories you wear with suit also affect the formality. It’s easy to dress a suit down if you want to wear it casually

How can indochino call themselves a custom suit company and they dont offer side tab adjusters on their trousers. I was in there two weeks ago and was told they dont offer side tabs anymore.

I would just warn with Indochino, I've heard mixed things about them. Their construction quality is not as good as Suit Supply, from what I've researched. Point is, I would do my research before buying any "custom" suit.

I have 4 suits and I can't remember the last time I wore one. Even formal meetings rarely have people wearing suits. I'd love a custom suit (one of mine is a quality suit that I had adjusted by an old-style tailor, and it's great), but I just couldn't justify it.

I have seen some of your videos and found them to be presented well and informative. However, I found watching this through to the end very hard, because of the poor fit of your garment. The shoulders are twisting at the seam and collapsing at the end. The collar doesn't hug your neck making the jacket look like it is riding up all the time. The vest fit was OK but perhaps a little long for today's styles. Anyone who understands personal presentation knows that the collar, tie and upper chest area are the most focal. If you understand that, then I would make a better effort at knotting your tie, and finding a shirt collar that doesn't lift up and away from your chest. The ability to correctly measure and style custom clothing should not be trusted to anyone but a clothing professional.
