As of 1.7.2 Parade has been nerfed to only provide 1 loyalty.

here is an advice, try use smithing to buy all trade goods and horses in a town that has been seiged. take all money and every morning, just around the daily tick, the town receives 10k denars to give to caravans and villagers. just sell a polearm or something to bring it to zero. it will rebel shortly and is a great way to make a kingdom without a dangerous war. second, all the caravans in the world will congregate to this location. this will level scouting extremely fast. faster than any other technique. third. buy all the horses from each caravan and they get trapped at 1.0 speed. they cannot transfer items between towns quickly. that means certain towns will have massive surplus of goods for cheap. so make as many caravans as you can and they will out speed every other caravan. you may cause mass rebellions throughout the world. a bit like the joker burning that giant pile of money, its not about the profit. its about watching the world burn.

i discovered this by accident when trying to force hyper inflation to level trade, and realised i can do this to level every character to max level with enough horses and grain lol

@@fightcancer absolutely. technically there is no max level, but there is a practical max level as you may corrupt your savefile after level 61-62 my max achieved level with no cheats but with exploits, is 61. i would be merc, join an army, fight until the army has collected around 19-20 nobles and barter trade for all of them from the other nobles, before they reach any castle or etc. abandon army and go to a town with no prisoners and a high garrison, high prosperity that is owned by the faction leader. save the game and try to donate prisoners to their dungeon directly, you got to not max the dungeon, so you can donate more prisoners. the lump sum of noble prisoners should net between 100-150 influence. then you just click on the donate prisoner option and press the enter key to auto click done. youll see that you just donated the same nobles again. you can repeat infinitely for max charm, massive exp gain, influence, relation, and money if merc. if done you can leave a kingdom with crippling debt that they cannot ever pay, and become a denar millionaire or you can leave the kingdom and lose all the influence, so that the kingdom isnt ruined, but you get to keep your levels.

While trying to figure out how to improve village hearth for the purpose of seeing a decrease in buy price of aserai horses, I've noticed resolving some quests give bonus to town prosperity/loyalty/security. By noting down all town stats right before completing the quest, "Extortion by deserters" (village quest) gave +100 prosperity and +10ish security to linked settlement. The same goes for "Escort caravan" for a +10 prosperity and "Caravan ambush" for +6 security. I haven't tested every quests while checking values yet but I would greatly appreciate if you can give your insight on this. Cheers from France.

Thanks for the in depth guide. I own like two towns and I’ve been giving my vassals towns. Everytime I do that I get a ton of rebellions since the ai is garbage at stabilizing loyalty. I guess ill have to take ownership and micromanage settlements myself. Also, the devs nerfed the perk Morale Leader. It no longer adds the security bonus.

if your running a kingdom just getting the 2 loyalty perks is enough to avoid rebellions 99% of the time. Most games I only keep 1 fief and everything goes to my vassals

Any ideas on a fully built castle that has no bound village food that is stuck in a prosperity/starvation loop? I can't seem to balance the prosperity/population and food no matter what I try. My garrison and prosperity buff destroys any food reserves, I have emptied the garrison and that just messed with security and loyalty, it did bring down prosperity and allowed for food reserves to build but then prosperity would build and begin to consume reserves again, making this one castle very high maintenance.

Imo first thing to worry about is after building is loyalty I max it out till I get the 1.5 notables loyalty buff so I may then safely switch off and then keep hearth ups, I let gov perks keep my milita up and keep garrison full and ignore starvation it makes it great for building trading and because loyalty is maxed they never and things stabilize finally after I get max relations and my recruits are amazing!

Would be nice if they added the culture of potential governors when you mouse over them since it plays such a factor.

Or even better after holding a town or castle for literal years the culture shifts to yours. I generally will keep a slot open to recruit a governor of the correct culture when I will a town or castle. Nothing else seems to matter, or is just a minor bonus.

5:20 You got a plus in Loyalty there because the town stopped starving (-1) in the meantime.

One thing you missed! Having a high relationship with the notables and perhaps adjacent villages helps with loyalty and construction. :) Still a lovely guide that covers everything :)

I have upgraded once, I just worked some EQ settings and think I need to get more. Once I get enough revenue I can get a better one but I also think a bit of it is me and how I talk from a medical issue

Big brain question here, I took my first town when I saw it rebel, I can’t yet assign the same culture governor and I’m also the wrong culture, I set money in, added food to stash, variety. And added a large garrison. Will clearing backstreets and ally’s, setting up my own guy there and or buying out the crafting shops be worth it or do I need to build reputation with the gang leaders by doing their quests they ask to help security or loyalty increase. You can’t kill the gang leaders and they have a reputation bar, what that do? sell you soldiers/ recruits? Just a deep many question I want you or the community to dm quickly before I wake up and start playing again

My understanding (which may be limited) is the leveling system will prevent you from having all these perks. You have to be strategic about it at the time of character creation, or else it seems you’ll be out of luck later game.

I feel like this is just unnecessarily difficult and punishing. If I had known before taking a town, I wouldn't have bothered. I'm now stuck baby sitting the place while there is still a war going on.

A trick to the garrison is to not sell your prisoners, You can mass recruit them then dump them into garrison. It a great way to get extra troops

castles dont have that ability to give food and TW knows it. lower garrison, max projects and max village herth is sadly all you can do

just adds a -1 to all the modifiers, so if its +1.5 and you install him it will drop to + .5

they should be from loyalty, the lower the loyalty the less people work. make sure your not starving, have only festival and games running so you gain loyalty, that sounds like your major problem

Great guide but you lost me at the food part, not a great start :) You said you "give the settlement food" and show the trading screen. I tried that, waited a bit and nothing happened. Did I miss a step in providing a boost to my food? Thanks!

you go to the trade screen and sell them food and they will increase food in the town screen based on how much you gave then. If lords comes by or caravans and take that food then its gone that is most likely why it didnt raise it up/

No serious. Thank you so much for this tip with stopping all production. I got my first castel, defendet it like hell and than? Loyalty minus. After running around and gathering troops for secutity, loyalty 10. but I could do nothing. Hundreds of Food, could not giv it to the castel. Same culture? Sorry, nobody. Prjekts? No building Point, cause low loyalty. And now this! Just stop those projekts! Man, if this still works now, you will make me so happy and helb me conquere the world….but nicly

You can't. We asked TW to hep but still nothing. For me I rely on militia more than a garrison. You don't pay them wages and they are part of the population so you don't feed them extra and they can't be starved out. So all you need is 25 loyalty and they fight,

It is too bad that you can't stay in the town for a time and default yourself as governor. On another note I forgot you could cap garrison wages and recruitment from the menu and my daily costs are over 20k. Lol I have way too many troops.

Well, If you have a high trained goveneur, hundreds of skilles troups and enough spare horsed to deliver a field worth of grain its easy to stabilize a town. We normal mortals have to do with whats left after that expensive siege and improve the loyality litte by little without starving the town out with or garnison.:)

it takes about 5k denars and 66 mules to get 1,000 grain. any companion of the same culture gives a +1 to loyalty, And if your playing a campaign your brother can get presence and heroic leader for +1 loyalty if gov and +5 security just visiting the town, all very easy to do for mortals very early in the game

Yes, if u need tocancel all projects and run festivals and games to building up fast, and it can't rebel if your in town

@@Majber yes slowly, either with a town project or governor perk adds XP to troops and they will auto update, it's great for upgrading cav units for free without having to buy horses

@@Flesson19 but since 2 days ago. When i clear bandit Places inside towns seems too reducere corruption, so now i wonder in my playthough. Since i am not a Kingdom or part of one, when i take towns from rebellions. No other Kingdom can declear war on me, since i am not a "Kingdom" so if corruption can be stopped. Can you also do so much corruption / Crime in other Kingdoms, you make rebellions happen, and as "Trader" take over All towns with other Kingdoms have No why of taking Them back. So far i have 10 towns as non-kingdom.
