I came here with my dad a few years back, before he passed. It was a great day! We ate so much junk food, and took a pic with Big Tex. There was an awesome laser light show at night. I miss him so much. I’m so glad we had that day.

My husband wanted to go, but he passed before this years State Fair began😔🥺We have been planted in Texas for 12 years, and I have not been to the State Fair. Without my other half, it doesn’t seem fun to me😞

I have to say, I love how you make friends with everyone as you go along. You talk to them like their long time friends. 🥰 it’s heart warming.

That gumbo ball was soooooo good...I went to my first state fair back in 2015 and it has become an annual tradition. I start saving up some extra cash just to spend on food at the fair a couple months before. I love the fried twinkies. Probably my favorite fried “snack” food.

as a texan, i was waiting for this! may be biased, but the texas state fair is just one of those things. not the best, or the worst; but pretty damn good.

Glad you had fun at the fair this year. I did as well. Did not get to try everything I wanted, but was still a fun time. Love being here in Dallas.

I've been to the Texas State Fair twice; in fact, it's the ONLY state fair I have been to. (Rather embarrassing, I have never been to the Maryland State Fair.)

Thank you so much for going to the fair. I have missed it so much since I moved away. The best feeling was when you walking in the front gate and immediately smell the funnel cakes!

You are so right! The original Big Tex (which since has been replaced due to burn damage) was first a giant Santa from the small town of Kerens, Tx! My hometown, & that is something we are SO proud of!

When I use to go to the state fair my 3 food choices are Fletcher's corny dog, Belgian waffle and a Smokey John's turkey leg (and one to go... LOL)

Oddly enough, my grandmother worked for the Levi’s location in Dallas that put together Big Tex’s clothes. She worked on the shirts until she retired in the 80s.

What an interesting State Fair food crawl! In Texas, they do it up big! The fried everything foods is not for the faint of heart! Only Mikey can deal with all that grease👍 That Chinese restaurant Dan Dan noodles & fried fish was more appealing to me💙

I go to the Texas state fair almost every year just to try their new food out. I get the corn dogs every time I go in there usually is a insane line.

We went to the State Fair and really enjoyed ourselves. Didn't eat much since the food was so expensive (e.g. smoked turkey leg at $18). I'm glad you reviewed some of the foods....especially the fried gumbo balls. I wish I had had some of them.....and the armadilo cookie ice cream sandwich!

Love to eat “Fair” food. Ohhh…that toffee cake looks delicious. It all looks good. 👍👏😋

I’m a native Dallasite and I’ve quit going to the state fair for the past 7 years. It’s become so expensive just to walk through and have a small bite to eat that it’s turned me off. Can’t say I don’t miss it because I certainly do. My childhood is riddled with happiness associated with the fair. I just can’t afford it anymore.
