I wanted to know if the moqi i7 is worth getting for emulation or is the i7s that much better. In terms of emulation is one way better than the other or is the i7 good enough. I.e. can it run PSP games well or is the i7s a lot better.

@@junaidarfaq98 Both MOQI I7 and I7s run Dreamcast, N64, and PSP at full speed and have far more functionality than the Retroid Pocket 2. Taki already made videos for the MOQI I7s, MOQI I7, GPD XD Plus, Powkiddy X18, and Powkiddy X15.

@@bigdonut1308 It comes with Yellow,Gold, Silver, Crystal, TCG, Puzzle Challenge, Pinball, Mystery Dungeon Red, and multiple GBA ROMhacks

I actually like the rubber grips and it indeed makes a difference, and the overall design and buttons feel really comfortable in the hand. Brilliant upload as always👍

I prefer the Xbox style instead. It just looks so weird having the joysticks both at the bottom.

@@zachcarmichael699 I respect that, still I like how the recessed areas make the console more pocketable. Also both sticks are analog while retroid ended up using a digital one on the right side.

@@iGeoboy I think on a console like this I prefere the D pad being higher, makes it more comfortable to use that and in 90% of the games I'll be playing on a device like that Dpad is better

@@iGeoboy I prefer Xbox style for 3-D games but for 2-D I prefer the analog sticks on the bottom. In general, I prefer the 2 controls I use most often on top and the 2 least used on the bottom. For 2-D that's the D-pad and 4 buttons. Most of my controllers though are Xbox style since I mostly use them for more modern games. All my retro controllers have D-pad on top

If waiting seems like a better option then wait. Both the RG351 and RP2 are rushed devices. The RP2 suffers from a laundry list of problems. The RG351 lacks built-in WiFi and has a 3:2 screen. If you want a better handheld. Try any of these in this order based on performance. MOQI I7s MOQI I7 GPD XD Plus Powkiddy X18 GPD XD Powkiddy X15

@@CrossingRover Or NES, SMS, SNES, Genesis, PS1, Arcade games, or anything you'd like to play on a D-Pad. The RP2 doesn't have a good D-Pad.

I'm so tempted to buy this thing. I used my RG350 quite a bit, but the analogue sticks are just annoying at times, and I don't like having the D-pad below the analogue stick as well. I'm considering getting this, but I also don't know if something new will come along. If anything, I want to use it just to play certain GBA titles, as well as some rom hacks and stuff I have.

Great review as always! Would you recommend the RG351p over the RG350p? I want to play a lot of GBA games, but I also want to play lots of pre 1999 arcade games (Capcom, Sega). Love to know your opinion. Thank you!

Posted this on another comment, I think I'd go with the RP2. - Right low-profile analog stick makes using the abxy buttons less fatiguing (your thumb doesn't really rest on the analog stick as much). - Much prefer vertically stacked L1/L2 buttons on the RP2 (personal preference, never was a fan of the ZL/ZR trigger position on my n3ds xl) - Slightly higher resolution screen on the RP2. - 4:3 aspect ratio screen (good for older consoles) - Swapped analog and d-pad on the left side (as much as I'm a sony fanboy, much prefer this configuration) - More space below the d-pad making it easier to use (not an issue on the rp351 as the d-pad is above the analog stick) - You also have HDMI out if you're into that The RG351: - More internal storage (though with an SD it doesn't matter much) - RG351 screen is 3:2 ratio, which is much better for GBA games. - better stock UI (though the RP2 runs android so you're not too limited by choice)

I bought a RG351 and the screen is pretty bad for anything beyond old classic consoles. The aspect ratio is bad for PS1/N64. Looks super blocky if you try to stretch to fit the screen, too small if you don't. It can run some Dreamcast (I tried out Sonic Adventure and Grandia 2), but the text is oftentimes unreadable because of the screen's resolution. The shoulder buttons are also a bit hard to reach, most notable in games that use a lot of L2/R2/Z Trigger. If it weren't for these two flaws, I think it would be perfect because the buttons and joysticks feel great.

Former RP2 owner here- I wouldn’t recommend it. Your better off buying a used vita for 100 dollars. The other console seems promising but it really wasn’t a great experience. I constantly experienced horrible lag and the battery only lasted around three hours

I got mine a week ago and I am extremely happy with it! Only I am not able to find any information about - are you able to use Retroarch recording/streaming feature? It crashes immediately if I try to start recording :)

I hope one day a handheld like that can play GameCube

It already exists but is not cheap. Check out the moqi i7s.

All I can think about is having one of these with a carbon fiber shell and titanium buttons, and the select and start buttons be led backlit gemstones.

I’m gonna get myself one of these for my birthday. I want the purple one for sure.

If one's passion is primarily 2D gaming, would you go with this, or go with the RG350P? Are the drawbacks to the 351P bad enough to downgrade to the 350P if one's only playing SNES/MegaDrive/GBA?

I gotta say, these retro handhelds are getting upgrades at an incredibly rapid pace right now. There's a lot of product out this year too. Taki, do you think there's a danger of market saturation here?

would you recommend following the retro game corps software guide? does it affects performance positively?

Hello. I just vant to ask what is your recomend henadheld to play psp(god of war, dante's inferno, warhammer40k), ds/3ds(ghost recon, the sims) and retro nes/smes game. Rg351 or retroid pocket 2 or anything pocket friendly? :)

Usually on android handhelds you’re able to adjust settings within each emulator to your liking (aspect ratio, turn off bilinear filtering etc) since this isn’t android I just wanted to know are you able to do this on this device?

@@C.Song07 for ps1 down I would say the rg350m is king, though it’s pricey. The rg350p would be a good alternative. If you want good Dreamcast and n64 performance the retroid pocket 2 is a great choice along with the rk2020 but both require some work out of the box, the rk2020 a lot of work in particular. For this chipset the rg351p is best in class due to the build quality and interface of the rg350m with the guts of the rk2020. I’m praying Ambernic comes out with a rg360 or whatever with a faster chipset to run up to GameCube well in the same body as the rg350m that would be ideal for me

Question for anyone, do these systems include every n64 game or only the ones predownloded? And with that being said, are we able to download games that aren’t on the system on a site?

I love my RG351Ps (I got a couple of them) but the one thing I don't like is how close the select button is to the up joypad. I have exited out of a game a few times because of accidentally hitting select when I meant to press UP because my fingers are so big it hits both at the same time.

I read somewhere that the SD that comes with it is bad quality, and slows some games down. And that with a better quality SD card (SanDisk extreme) the games worked better, could this be true?

Does Mortal Kombat 3 runs good ? I just noticed this handheld console only 4 days ago and i want to know if you recommend me the $100 or wait to buy a new anbernic entry ? Cause i've been reading that most want a new anbernic console with a better screen.

I'm feeling more of a temptation to trade out my RG350M for this, but I'm holding out for more shell options and especially an Android port (or whatever else that can get N64 and DC working better)

Brightness is a log scale, so that is probably a programming oversight in which you control intensity instead of brightness

Taki, would you be able to make a video on how to flash the same exact emuelec firmware on the RG351P? I want to upgrade to a 128GB micro SD, but after I flashing the emuelec firmware into the new SD card and insert into RG351P, the device just keeps vibrating and render it unplayable.

Hey Taki, What kind of screwdriver do you use to open these? It ATE my memory card. I was playing with the SD, tried to put it into the system, and it vanished. I can hear it rattling around inside. It looks like a small octagon screwdriver. Love your channel btw, thanks in advanced.

I'd like to see that too. I also have an order for the RP2 but, I went with the 351P as opposed to the 350M. I don't know if the higher res screen on the M is something that I'll miss out on or not. From what I've read, it's really only noticable in the menus.

@@iamnotyourbuddyGUY Panda Mimi tested a bunch of stock games in the Retroid Emulator. If you run these in any emulation app outside of the Retroid Pocket Emulator you'll experience Lag, Glitches, and Crashing.

Do any of these retro players have ergonomic handles? That’s what has been holding me back to this point

I feel like all of us should be investing in the 3ds / 2ds homebrew and emulation community. Most 3ds models even the new 2ds xl are around the same price or CHEAPER than some of these gaming handhelds. If we could push these devices to their limits that would be great

Yeah, phones on the $250 range are starting to catch up to Dolphin and PS2 emulation but these things are asking half as much for handicapped sixth gen and psp. Yes, the form factor is good but with so much stuff coming out every couple months it really feels like you're better off waiting and either getting a much better product for the same price a couple years down the line or a much better price when the scalpers/early adopters sell their old stuff to get into marginally better stuff on the next release.

In your opinion, is this better than the 350M? I had a 350M and gave it to my brother, after I ordered the 351P. It keeps having issues during shipping, so haven't gotten it yet. I see so many people complaining about the screen, but I don't think I'll mind stretching the games a bit on it. I mean I play games on my big screen fully stretched, and don't mind at all. Will I most likely be fine with this then? Just seeing way too much negativity on this, but I'm glad your vid is positive.
