Agreed, even on their website I have hunted around for different things and I'm not sure why these videos show up in my suggested stream but I'm very thankful for them! Maybe the home Channel needs to be organized into clearly labeled shorts and bits, and somehow we need to figure out how to get them more exposure generally, but that would take somebody that understands how KZread analytics work and I don't. And it turns out I live 30 minutes from this guy and I got the local references he was making, those are actual places and towns not made up names! And I just found out about him by watching a podcast that is kind of unrelated but he is a regular guest called nerkish. It's so weird you have to go so far to find somebody that ends up being local and very talented! I hope somebody with some pull or importance sees this and start promoting it so more people find it! I'm even tide in pretty tightly with the local movie scene and I didn't know about their movie riffs and that they use a beautiful Golden era theater to film it! So people like me don't know about it, we've got to get some PR people in gear and advertising somehow even if it's local TV at first and then handing out leaflets and somehow getting connected to Nationwide exposure.

I miss "The Skipper" (now called "Dr. Skipper" to complete the illusion, apparently) from Safeway. We no longer have Safeways in Tulsa. I, too, am a fan of Mr. Pibb (I can't call it Pibb Xtra; that makes no sense). I might choose it over the original, given the opportunity. Does that make me a bad Pepper?

I don't know about the USA, but here in the UK _all_ the "knock-offs" suddenly disappeared a couple of years ago - Dr Thunder from Asda, Dr Fizz from Tesco, Dr Pop from Morrisons. A great pity! The three aforementioned were all "zero calories" and all tasted way better than diet Dr Pepper.

This was really well done, especially compared to other similarly themed KZread videos. However, it probably would've been better to do a _blind_ taste test, and just line them up in the order of favorite to least favorite. Then reveal the names at the end. If _Dr Pepper_ is truly the best of the bunch without bias, it'll come out on top.

Yes I agree diet dr. Pepper would have been cool to be included, and then at the end may be a really quick random taste test with shot glasses to see if after all that abuse he could still pick out the real dr. Pepper. Love this video, just stumbled across it! Everything Rick in the crew do is hilarious and needs more publicity because more people deserve to be exposed to this hilariocity!

A lot of those sodas were sent to their studios, they didn’t curate the soda themselves. They got what they could get. Dublin Dr. Pepper is technically not a knockoff, since it is directly made and bottled by Dr. Pepper themselves.

I'm sure he was tasting knock-offs from the surrounding area, people tend to think that the chains they have around them are in every city in America. Like I keep hearing about Ralphs and lions Grocery Stores and they've never been around here where the show is produced. I have heard of Whole Foods, I'm not sure that I've actually seen one personally though. You hear more about it in the media. People think everything in America is homogenized but there still are distinct Regional differences like around here we don't have White Castle even though it started here, we also don't have there knock-off Krystal Burger, no Carl's jr. But we do have Hardee's, no In-N-Out burger, no Whataburger, Jack in the Box just recently returned to the region, worst of all we don't have taco Grande! We also don't have that popular Taco chain in California that I can't remember the name of, in and out or taco Hut or whatever it is. So things are still pretty Regional in America and actually I think that's okay!

Unfortunately, the Laneco and Food Lane Stores (I believe, strictly, an East Coast company) have gone out of business. They produced "Dr Right," the absolute best generic version of Dr Pepper, which exceeded Dr Pepper's flavor. It was slightly sweeter than the original, and had good carbonation. When ice cold, I would ooh and ahh, while drinking it.

Any artificial or alternative sweeter really does become apparent after the first swig and you end up scrunching your face ... Kind of like how you watch SW Episode 7 and realize afterward you saw it three movies earlier.

It was made originally as a competitor to Dr. Pepper, similar to Mountain Dew vs Mello Yello. It was even called Dr. Pebb at one point.
