Ultimate Direction Fastpack 20 Review
Спорт
With only a couple of weeks to go until MDS, Pete goes through another bit of kit that has made the final cut.
The Ultimate Direction Fastpack 20 is a great option for multi day ultras. The main downside I've found has been the dificulty in attaching poles to the front. However, I have found a solution (see from 7 minutes onwards in this video). Here are the items I've used:
The bungee cord: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...
The spring clips: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...
It's a very cheep solution that weighs nothing!

Great video
I have the fastpack 20 and have used it a lot. Im always curious about how much volume it is, since I do multi day fastpacking trips and probably load it out with 10-12 lbs of base weight gear. I keep my tent on the exterior in a side pocket and strap it into the compression straps. Enjoy your adventuring!
Great review, thanks for taking the time. Did you try using a reservoir in the back? There website shows there is space for it
Really want this in a 15L version. I'm short and my stuff is small and light.
I'd like to see hydration system reviews for long distance OCR events. Thanks.

I doubt we would ever review a hydration system for OCR. It's not something our team would ever use, as water/aid stations are usually sufficient. Plus, using a bag at most OCRs is inadvisable.

... and you will also end up with a water bladder full of warm water thanks to the conduction of heat from your back. Hydration systems have a place but also lots of disadvantages.
hello Pete. did you find that the thin shoulder straps dug in when running with weight?

No, not at all. I found it really comfortable on the shoulders.
It's completely Waterproof??
And my Exped Lightning 60 weights only 1.1 kg ;-)
Fuck the phone, not looking for a race backpack that is designed for my phone.
