I dont like celtor because of the raccoon part, I like it because it makes the more expensive boats a LOT cheaper, like on the ironclad you save 2k(I think) and you also get more hp on boats which is really good. Celtor is probably the race to go if you love travelling and your good at sailing

There is a free axe on etris there's a guy standing in front of his house, to the left of the training gear shop he also has a quest where you can give him 10 wood for a couple notes

Hey rev! Loved the video, I totally agree that autodidact is just a speedrunning thing and can actually make you level slower at times! (If you ever want to make a quick blindseer , adret autodidact can get you willpower 50 at level 13 lol) But some things like spawn islands did bug me a little because of some of the small details you missed but overall it’s all fine as I’d recommend traveling to both islands regardless of where you spawn for the free 25 notes, and training fortitude really quick to like 10 or 15 at vigils is a good idea to start out anyways imo Keep up the content, I really enjoy your deepwoken streams!

Only thing I wanna say here is that every race without autodidact can get over 50 willpower on power 10. Also yeah, I do feel I missed some of the details on the islands, I'll have to make a more in-depth video, thanks for watching spade

@@ReEvolu Yeah I do feel that I could have optimized that run a lot, considering how much time I wasted on vigils for fortitude 20 which I never used, and other stupid things. But hey if anyone wants to know what I did who’s reading these replies -Spawn -Go to depths -Sadly trolled myself by prayer bead afking there to 20 will -Leave depths, free talent :D -level up pretty much normally, making sure to have my willpower up arrow until I have enough autodidact points -Use all of my autodidact points to set myself to willpower 50, getting the rest of my willpower perks for blindseer from these level ups -Finally go to the upper erisian temple and slap on a blindfold!

Squeamish is pretty good when paired with gourmand talent and/or gourmet, I use it on my vesp and don't notice squeamish at all because of how much food and water meals give me.

Im still with my first character, level 40, went to the depths twice and died many times, I have gourmet and squeamish only, and I will admit that I didnt check the other talents because I wanted to play the game as soon as possible.

Light weapon is honestly kinda insane when you get Gilded Knife, you literally just spam R and MELT NPCs

yeah dagger is good against NPCs cause they're literal bots. But PVP is where its not as strong cause players arent predictable and move like bots

@@ZERO_K_O_M in pvp, if there’s lag, light weapons will be really hard to parry against because of the short window and they will usually end up obliterating your health if they are decent

I do agree that autodidact is somewhat bad for leveling, but if you want to you can save points for when it takes a while to get out of weak soul.

Squeamish and Haemophilia are the easiest flaws to deal with in my opinion. Gripping an npc barely drops your hunger, and half the time my blood bar doesn't even go down when im being rapidly attacked. By the time you hit level 15ish you basically stop bleeding.

Once you reach the point where you need exp on any stat autodidact becomes useless. But I did use it on my older build to save 5 of them to get an instant power up if I ever died. Also you can just get carnivore to completely counter squeamish.

You can use autodictact without any exp on the stat, you can instantly train anything at all, no cp or training tool needed

Autodidact is good when you're higher level and struggle to level up when you're one life (and will struggle/are scared in the depths) so you can easily get 4 stat points into one area without having to spend an hour getting all 5 points, so then you only need to train for one point.

However you can`t lvl up if you dont have enough EXP(you still will have a need in fighting/exploring to get EXP to lvl up. Basically, it will show 'Investment Points:0' and force you to play)

at high lvl autodidact is useless, once you get to about lvl 35 you will ONLY need KILL xp, you wont require training xp, its only for progressing past the early game quickly

Autodidact is also pretty good for high levels. For instance, there's a weapon you want to use, but you don't have the requirements for it and you are also unable to train. Well, you can just put in your points to that stat and now you can use the weapon without having to spend hours grinding to use it. You can also use it to upgrade certain stats if you needed an immediate boost in hp, int, damage, or whatever it is. Overall, it's a good perk, it's not for everyone but it's still viable and useful up until you reach max power

@@kidthebilly7766 Ofc lol, but the fact is: it's easier to make ur build and prevent from death, even if u cannot lvl up cos u don't got the xp, if u r fight with 0 points avaliable, some time u I'll lvl up, while having 1-2 points u would have to use ur training tool to get that exp, so, it prevents from death and makes it easier to make ur build, any other boon is trash, survivalist is overrated 😭 main point of autoditact is making ur build, imagine if u r a lvl 1 and want to progress ur charisma/willpower, it I'll take way longer if u use the conventional way, u could just have a bit of spars with a trainer and then put the points in a campfire

the one case where autodidact is good is for when you're doing a weapon mixed build. with the weapon specific mantras, starting with a medium and being able to slot points into light without needing a stilleto or a fist style is really good, and aside from rapid slashes, you can also use a gun on the ofhand which is really good imho

@@itaco1337F i mean, my midgame katana flyntlock build was pretty good... But i get that i went no mantra so it was less harmful... Either way it was really good

squeamish is pretty nice for flamecharm users, probably an a+ or s tier, the effect only takes place when you grip someone so you can just burn bodies (ofc this isnt gonna work easily in pvp unless you knock everyone but you'll only be gripping a few people so it really isnt an issue), killing monsters doesnt make it go down either from what i've seen

If you want effective use from autodidact just save your free stat points until lvl 50 and now you have a free 10 levels to max, or you can save them up for when you die so you can power up again immediately.

I don't really see why you think survivalist is so good, when acid rain is only on upper erisia where you go for a small portion at early to mid game lol

I would say autodidact is good because no.1 no exp requirements actually. I can literally have never touched a dumbbell or used an axe and I can still put stuff in strength. I only need grip exp/ level exp for the actual level up and not the investment point. I also think squemish is good because it was my first flaw and I never even noticed it so I’ve just been going it ever since

@@DookieMeister51 Autodidact won't deny you the stat up when you hit the point of needing xp, it will deny you the level up big difference because it won't stop you from training a skill you don't have the xp to level up, it will just pile up the xp costs for levelling the skill and deny you a level up until you get the xp you need when I say XP i mean the white vfx you get from doing events and stuff, you dont have to train skills using tools to level up with autodidact

Not without a training tool, but without any training. If you are at one life, instead if going to some dangerous island to get killed, you can use the free attribute to get a life quickly

the reason why autodidact can be good was that if you save the points, when you lose a life you can spend 5 points and lvl yourself up. This is something that kept me from going to the depths and even now when im lvl 35 and I need to kill npcs to lvl up, if I use 5 points i only have to kill a few npcs on the cold island and I will lvl which is really nice. I might be wrong, pls let me know cause i want to be more informed.

Well you see you still need the xp to increase in power, if you ever notice that sometimes you get to 0 investment points and need to kill a few things go increase in power, this means that you could of just trained whenever you died and you would of increased in power

i go autodidact just incase I die and don't fee like going to the depths so I just pop in a couple stat points and level up in a second, honestly it's only use lool (definitely not good for late game targetted builds tho)

If you're an Adret with Autodidact you get 2 free investment points instead of 1, so I choose it most of the time with my Adret

I've been using autodidactic to save up 5 investment points so if I get my health bar stained I can level up instantly. But I also chose it because when I was making my character I thought it was an extra stat investment, not pulling from your required upgrades to level up.

Autodadict is extremely overheated. With Adret you get two skill points per rank up making it automatically good. Not only that it literally allows you to train things like charisma and other things which are much harder to train. Yes you still need eco but it’s also a free save your progression if you need points and are stained, but have enough points saved to rank up.

i use autodidact to just get my life back when i die cuz i keep it at alteast 5 points so if i die i can just put the points get my life back i know this wont be usefull when im endgame but for now it helps since im not that good at combat i am barely getting to understand it and because all players became aggressive now

Simple doesn't actually feel that bad to use and seems to be best flaw for me at least since it only means I have to play more.

i went simple once, and it honestly wasn't that bad. however, you should test it, would be great content.

I usually go maverick and survivalist and vegetarian and squemish

Autodidact is useful for cowards who are scared of going to the depths (not being rude) because you can instantly level up with no risk at a campfire if u store ur points

Avoiding going to the depths nowadays is nice, you go to the depths and people will guard the exit to the depths and kill anyone that goes there, I've had it happen 3 separate times so far

Does anyone know what the differences are between the one-handed stance (where you would hold your shield, parry dagger, exc. in your off-hand) and the two-handed stance. I feel like there has to be differences, but I haven't noticed any from personal experience. It says something on the wiki about stances, but I'm pretty sure that page is out-dated from fakewoken 2 (still has venting on it) so I'm not sure if I should trust it.

one hand on medium and heavy does less damage but lets you get a side weapon or a shield, on light you can have any side weapon without a disadvantage

Autodiadect is quite good for new players who are really scared of the depths since you could just save up 5 points and invest all asap as soon as you die once, basically giving you a free life upto 11 times [60 minus 1 divided by 5]

I thought the same thing until I reached about power 40. Eventually you constantly need experience to invest a few points at a time, so what will happen is you invest those 5 points and it says you have 0 investment points left over, because you need more experience from farming, and this CONSTANTLY happens. So it's basically alright for new players until you start reaching the high levels. Sorry, I wasn't sure if you meant new players as in power level or just skill at the game in general.

@@notben4140 I think that's a you problem rather than the autodidact's problem. I've only hit the 0 investment points once or twice in 55 hours of playing with multiple wipes, so it basically never happens to me. Just play the game and farm at the correct islands without EVER spamming a training and you'll be fine. I only hit my cap at around 54 which is when you seem to need a LOT more xp to progress and need to be better at the game to kill the stronger npcs/bosses without dying.

Ok so hear me out gourmet autodidact or survivalist and then dimple as a flaw Bc that let's you CHOOSE what to put 60 investment points into by power 60, and if your adret that's 120. And orc cus gourmet very good yknow yknow. I'm look at this from a power 60 view btw. Also a valid thing to do is spawn vigil go get lumber and librarian quest get the 25 from npc and food quest go to etris do gold ring and finish librarian quest sell gold ring and that's a easy 75 notes and a free set of cards that can be saved until you talk to the librarian again.

Shields can be bought in a couple of shops but mostly just drops from chests like Khan Shield at Starswept

The reason why I pick autodidact is so I can save up the points and get my life back if I die

Once your negative rep with a city how do you lower it? I was killing guards thinking it was easy EXP but now they chase me when in range, even when i switch servers.

I do not agree with obvious because boy do sharkos and golems aggro on you when you have obvious, it also downgrades most of agility’s talents as most revolve around stealth

autodidact is good if you are too lazy to kill 50 things to put in a single point at a higher level

The reason I like autodidact or whatever is because after I have like 70 in light and I’m level 40 and since I go no magic I get 50 free points and in light of I want and that would be 70 plus 50 which is 120 light. 50 light after 70 and after 70 light it’s hard to level up stats. Now if you use the free stats right away that makes it d tier no doubt but if you save them it saves you hours or even days of grinding🤷🏼‍♂️

No you have literally the same amount of points as any otherr person your level you just don’t have to use any training tool

saying autodidact does "nothing but make you not have to use a training tool 1 time" is pretty dumb rev. its not like you click the tool for free levels. you literally have to use your weapon/skills/etc in order to train the stat. autodidact negates that for one point, meaning you don't have to do anything. this becomes super useful if you save up your stat points, meaning that the levels that would normally take forever late game, you could negate. save up like 50 points and spam them at level 40+ and youll completely negate most of the training you would have to do late game

You do get a axe at etrea but I prefer vigil

Gourmet+carnivore=no more hunger

I can argue with that. it can be considered the best and worst.

Vegetarian doesn't get enough credit to be honest. If you pair vegetarian with gourmet, fortitude talents like iron gut and herbivore, you can pretty much eat anything you come across on any island since you get to negate the effects of poisonous food.

Survivalist is really useless in my opinion cause acid rain is rare and there is plenty of food to eat just by gathering also if your Adret you get 2 extra skill points that can be saved and used to get a life back if you die

the depths talent only applies to your reservoir, whereas deficient affects both your reservoir and your ether, you regenerate ether at a MUCH slower rate than normal compared to other players with deficient.

Rev I use autodidact for this exact reason: I'm a high level, i can't train, I'm too scared to grind exp at high power islands or i'll be in the depths, and I need to get my life back. I haven't used any of my autodidact points at all and I'm power 47. Oh look, 47 free points I can save and use whenever I need my life back. It may be inefficient for leveling up, but hey, better safe than sorry. Also Adrets get 2x autodidact points so they would be useless if they didn't go it...

There is also general combat exp you need to get in order to use the autodidact points. You can't just use autodidact points whenever you want.
