I'm really surprised and really happy that the Sig brass looks so awesome. It's really cheap!

I did a similar test using brass from Hornady and Alpha Munition brass with SRP. I loaded both cases the same charge of IMR 4350, and what I found that with LRP gave me higher velocity than did the Alpha Munition brass

Thanks for the video! I really would love to see you test the brass with H4350 and Hornady 140 or 147 ELD-M projectiles. Lapua brass was really a game changer for me in my RPR using the above. .42 MOA. SD less than 7.

Once you get the ideal load worked up I'd like to see a comparison between your premium Forrester dies and Lee or rcbs dies. Not ability to work up load but once accuracy is found a comparison between dies!

If viewers of this video haven’t already seen it, they might want to check out the videos where the 6.5 Guys did a pretty thorough test of Lapua brass including testing the number of reloads. I believe they concluded the Lapua brass was likely to be good to 20 reloads...they have a separate video on Alpha brass.

As always, ymmv! Go with the physically most consistent, brass and you can mess with the rest of it to make it work. Brass is the foundation.

Sweet video and interesting findings but what was the point of doing this if everything is going to change after the first firing and the info after the first firing is the more important? I dig t none the less..I assume you’ll be redoing this test now that the brass is fire formed?

+MannyyP28 thanks for commenting. I am not sure I will repeat the test completely. Largely I am trying to demonstrate the out of the box quality that you should expect. The second firing on the Norma cases was singe digit sd and ES in the very low teens. It's great brass, but pretty expensive. If I spend the time to ultimate case prep all the brass I am not sure its a fair comparison either. I am open to ideas for interesting tests though.

Bolt Action Reloading I hear ya. Which was really interesting but I’d be curious as to see how they hold up and keep their consistency after they are fire formed. If you run out of ideas that would be an interesting one and an idea for ya to see which one can be reloaded the most. I’m not completely caught up on all your videos so I’m not sure if you anneal your brass and how often you do but it’d be interesting to see those kinds of differences. Thanks for the vids!

I love info! Thank you for your work. But if I could make a suggestion not at all related to reloading. When editing your video try using an equalizer on your vocal track and reduce the frequency around 400hz. On my computer speakers that will make your audio work better with smaller speakers.

Glad you enjoy the channel. I hope that others find it interesting. As far as the audio is concerned, I am not sure how to fix this. I do a noise background sample in separate software and perform a noise reduction on it. My editing software doesn't have any advanced audio manipulation so I have to use something separate and then sync the audio manually that is a real pain, but the only thing I know how to do it. If there are some of my videos that are better than others let me know so that I can research the settings I used on them and maybe figure out a better setting. Feedback is always appreciated!

Your video was to blurry to really see the info but good test anyway, I have a few pounds of IMR4350 and use it as back up to H4350 @42.5g and Varget ( sometimes hard to find). It's good to find your test ( I know from my tests that it takes time to do), I'll probably run a little hotter though, I've heard it gives better groups with slightly higher charge. As for brass I'm not that picky so long as it's looking good and has proper length, mostly use Hornady, Winchester and Federal with CCI BR2 primers..... My RPR 6.5 CM just loves to be fed and taken out for a hunt or range play.... does me good with anything.

Hey Steve, if the video is blurry there is a good chance that KZread lowered the resolution on whatever device you are watching it on. You can change it and should be able to see it.

I watched this on a work computer while on break, went home and watched it again on mine and the image was normal. One way to keep us from playing at work, LOL...... Great video, I'm sure it helped a lot of re-loaders and shooters, thanks for taking the time.

Glad you enjoyed it Steve. I really like my RPR and its probably getting time to switch the barrel to be honest. Going to have to start making tough decisions.

Bolt: You must put a lot of rounds through her....I have had mine 2 years and other then zeroing with and without suppressor, testing my perfect reload and shooting 2 deer I've only put about 40 rounds through her, saving my barrels ( on my rifles) for SHTF which I think may be coming soon. Being Clairvoyant is a BITCH! I've seen some of your other videos......good job and a lot of good info for beginners.

Call me crazy but isn't the CBTO more important than COAL? Bullets will vary in their length from meplat to ogive, but the ogive has the largest effect on the travel of the bullet.

If price is no object its hard to go wrong with Lapua. Another great premium option is Peterson.
