Ulam ideas: Chicken Liver Steak Recipe | Atay ng Manok Bistek Style

Chicken liver steak is easy to prepare and cook with very few ingredients, most of the people I know and I for one doesn’t like the metallic or bitter taste of chicken liver, however if prepared the right way you will enjoy and will want for more, just be mindful of your uric acid. 😊
Ingredients:
1/2 Kg. Chicken Liver
1 Large Onion (1/2 chop & 1/2 rings)
4 Cloves Garlic
3 Tbsp. Lemon or Calamansi Juice
4 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
1 Tsp. Black pepper powder
Steps:
1. Make sure to clean and properly remove gall bladder (the green thing attached to the liver) and any green part of the liver and connective tissues.
2. Wash and rinse well.
3. Marinate the chicken liver in lemon juice for at least 30 minutes to remove the blood and minimize the metallic or bitter taste also.
4. Wash and rinse well.
5. Chop half of 1 large onion for saute and the other half ringed for garnish.
6. Chop 4 cloves of garlic.
7. Heat 3 tbsp. of cooking oil on medium flame.
8. Saute Onion until soft.
9. Saute Garlic until light brown.
10. Arrange the chicken livers in the pan cover for 3 mins.
11. Turn and simmer until no more visible blood or chicken livers fully light brown.
12. Add 4 tbsp. Soy sauce.
13. Add 1 tsp. Black pepper powder.
14. Mix carefully and garnish with ringed onion and cover for 3-5 minutes or until the onions are soft.
15. Done and prepare you extra rice.
