I have read every single P.G Woodhouse novel and short story, many of them several times over; but Ukridge seems to me a perfect blend of everything that is inventive, humorous, brilliant storytelling...all in high wire Ballance and in perfect rhythmic time. I've literally read or listened to this hundreds of times, and no other narrator does Mr Woodhouse justice as does Mr Cecil. Thank you from my heart of hearts.

Was there some reason stated why Featherstonehaugh was prononced as written, not Fanshaw as it "should" be?

Jonathan Cecil died in 2011. Ability of people to criticize what they didn’t pay for is unbelievable… And that without a word of gratitude.

@@lara_bond I believe these mis-spelt names such as Cockburn, Marjoribanks etc. were merely devised so that those "In the know" could feel superior to us ordinary folk who can simply read properly 🙂

Ah yes but you are mistaken, old horse. Though it is spelt Fanshaw the word is pronounced Fanshaw just as the narrator is doing 😊
