One of the best scenes in Saving Private Ryan was when Tom Hanks, admits to his fellow soldiers that he's a school teacher. Soldiers are ordinary people, this man could have been a musician, or music teacher before he dressed in fatigues and covered his face. Whats heart breaking is in extreme situations like WWII and the conflict in Ukraine, protesting isn't enough and ordinary people are forced to fight for what's right. We see armed soldiers and we forget that soldiers are humans too (on both sides), they have lives, families, feelings and emotions. Whats beautiful for me is how this mans talents bridge that gap. It's a reminder that he is still a human, and although lost a lot, still believes in hope for a better future.

To all of the people wondering this is Bogdan "The Piano Extremist". Dude lost his wife and kid and was feeling Terrible as you might expect. Then the maidan protests happened, he saw the piano and started to play. Last I heard he had a full time job playing for Ukrainian soldiers on their bases and in hospitals. He even wrote a song for a friend of his who was killed in the conflict. He has a soundcloud with various covers on. Just search "piano extremist" on there. iirc He's in the documentary "Piano" too, giving an interview

Dude lost his wife and kid and was feeling Terrible as you might expect. Then the maidan protests happened, he saw the piano and started to play.. He even wrote a song for a friend of his who was killed in the conflict. He has a soundcloud with various covers on. Just search "piano extremist" on there. His name is a jab at the political figures in power calling those who were protesting militants and extremists. iirc He's in the documentary "Piano" too, giving an interview
