I was crying when I was crossing the border, I didn't want to leave my native land but I had to do this in the sake of my son just to save our lives. Please pray for Ukraine. Little to no training is exactly how most soldiers are sent to battle. Both us army and marines in ww2 BARELY had training. Russians plainly didn't. And often times novgun either ! LOL

His name was Volodia. I heard that he died yesterday at 2pm defending the bridge all on his own. But he held off the Russian army for more than 3 weeks just by himself!!!

I remember this coming on the news, also later this bridge was blown up. I wonder what happened to this guy, I hope hes alright.

Bewildered, frightened, worried about his parents, and guarding a bridge on his own having fired only 16 bullets in his life on a shooting range. This boy have only 21 years olds and he can speak English, he is very intelligent boy, he should be stuying in the university, not in a war. It is so unfair

My prayers go out to everyone who has died in this horrible event and everybody who is stuck in Kiev and all Ukraine

Using a gun is bravery ? Shooting at people because politicians are incompetent ? What is the duty of a man ? Being reasonable or being "brave" ? Bravery in war is an antique myth. It is a form of wrong behaviour and idiotism. The defenders decide whether there is war or not.

That last boy on the footbridge reminded me of my own son, that struck home for me. I pray for his safety,and God grants him peace of mind through this no matter what happens. He was standing strong. I'm not his father but I am so damn proud of him.

When I was 21 I was sitting at home watching films and eating junk food doing nothing and complaining about how hard my life was....this brave young man is ready to die for his country at such a young age god bless him and I hope he gets through. I'm 27 and sick of this facts.. 21 yrs old. Mean they were born around 1998 and 2000. There are videos which also shown Russian tankers caught by Ukrainian Forces and they are also around the same age: 21 yrs old. Sick that we must fight the war declared by old men who sit & safe in their office, no harms they ever encountered.

I was in tears when the young soldier was talking, whole video got me into tears , end of the video where people trying to get into train and the guards fire into air felt so bad as if those people haven’t heard enough gun fires, Bombing and war siren’s , literally made me cry 😢, hope this war end , my prayers are with brave Ukraine soldiers and citizens

I was on that bridge in October it leads to the friendship arch with Russia. So hard to believe when I was last there it was an amazing atmosphere watching people listening to buskers and admiring the view up the river. How things have changed in a few short months.

The arch had cracked in 2014, not literally, but the crack had been painted on it. Because of the beginning of the war. The first 8 years were slower then these days in 2022.

That makes it all the more horrendous that this very young man is taking a stand to guard it all alone..he at least needs the camaraderie of fellow soldiers..when they march on that bridge he is the lone man against an army..I would be terrified also..God please protect this young man..stand with him so he does not stand alone..

I have sons and seeing the young man guarding that bridge alone was just heartbreaking 💔 I pray God be with him and the Ukrainian people. 🙏
