Ukrainian military near Soledar battlefield fire German-made howitzer at Russian positions

Ukrainian servicemen fired a German-made PzH 2000 howitzer at Russian positions on Wednesday (January 11) near Soledar.
Despite some technical flaws, the servicemen are satisfied with the PzH 2000.A Ukrainian serviceman who uses the call-sign ‘Pravda’ says their howitzer shot more than 1,300 shells in two months.
“When the automatics work, the fire rate is unbelievable. It shoots very quickly; it shoots very accurately. If you do everything correct, it shoots unbelievably accurately,” said ‘Pravda’.
Russian commanders have targeted Soledar as a platform to attack the nearby city of Bakhmut, which has held out for months against a Russian onslaught.

In an assembly line production, at least 4 self-propelled howitzers are produced every day. In fact, after this war at the latest, several thousand howitzers will be needed on NATO's eastern border. Many things in Bundeswehr are not running perfect - especially when bureaucracy kicks in. But once they switch to pragmatic mode, they are everything else than useless. You can see it at all the more complex systems systems they have sent to Ukraine. According to rules - and that was what they claimed prior to delivery - training on systems like Gepard takes 3-4 months, if it's been stripped to minimum. After decision to send Gepards, Bundeswehr switched to pragmatic mode and arranged 3-4 Week training sessions for the crews with their best instructors, including adaptation to the Ukrainian command & control systems. You can see the results in successful operation - and the fact, that still all Gepards are alive. Proof of high level of skills on both sides.
