The combat medics have to deal with death on a different level than the soldiers. The soldiers see the dead and wounded and subconsciously have to put those things to the back of the mind in order to be combat effective. The combat medics have to have intimate conversations with people that they know will die soon or will be crippled for life. It's hell for the soldiers, medics, support and the civilians.

This is a slightly outdated video(24+- hours). Our troops retreated heroically (* explanation + *) to Lysychansk with certain losses. This is no longer confidential information, but a reality. All the defense of the Ukrainian army is now in Lysychansk and not only ... There is a lack of fire support - the necessary weapons to repel the attacks - it's artillery .. And fire drones + reconnaissance. and those Leopard 2a4 tanks that the German authorities still do not allow into Ukraine for our support.

The last scene where the company commander was playing guitar and the other soldier was using his AK mag as a drum really hit me hard. As a musician myself it was probably one of the most striking images yet. I don't think I'll ever get that image out of my head. It was somber as well as hopeful, sad yet inspiring. We have only seen these types of losses since ww2, where the avarage for a unit was around 55% in general(Note some countries had higer in their combat units, like the USSR and Germany). It can also be seen on different battles where unit casulty would be higer then normal. I would estimate that the unit we see here is in the Donbas reagion which is seeing the hardest of fighting doing this conflict. Another thing to note is that this unit was a profesionel unit which had seen combat before, which likely points to it being part of counter attacks and other offensive operations, which in turn does lead to higher casulties as well. All in all, this type of warfare has not been seen since ww2, not even Korea and Vietnam come close to this mass conventional warfare with to almost equal strong countires slugging it out in a warfare of attrition.

Ukraine lost its freedom in 2014 when the US carried out an illegal seizure of power in Ukraine. Since then, the United States has reformatted Ukraine into a conflict with Russia. In 2022, the president of Ukraine refused to comply with the Minsk2 peace treaty and began to threaten Russia that Ukraine would make atomic weapons. Also given that NATO began the development of Ukraine, build bases and military biological laboratories. The combination of these factors, as well as the threat of Ukraine to the republics of Donbass, forced Russia to recognize the republics of Donbass and protect them by military means.

It’s difficult to comprehend - I understand - it’s taken me 7 years - some of it living in Ukraine, having a Ukrainian family, studying and researching thousands of hours - writing papers, teaching, learning language.. The only thing in war that is clear - people die. Their contribution to the world lost .. and this damn war could have been prevented. Biden, Putin, Zelenskiy.. so many others since 1991.

teh sad part is they fight for the CIA and dont even know it. if ukraine just surrendered the first day the only thing that would have changed is the actor "in charge". first it was a russian puppet, now an american so russian back again. even if ukraine would win the war and take every meter back, then what? russia aint gonna disapear over night they have to got to an arangement. from a pratctical perspektive ukranians never should have fought this war. also the amount of western weapon systems there from day one was striking and might be the real reason putin invaded there. now ukraine and their people are trown under the bus to fight yet another replacement war. just this time it probably end at least in a limited nuclear war.

They showed the video with all the captured from Mariupol who surrendered instead of just edited footage of a handful. Both sides are taking huge losses and will take decades for the population of both countries to rebound and a long time for Ukraine to rebuild once it is over unless Ukraine falls but even then it has to be rebuilt. During an earlier war, there was a young Ukrainian woman named Lyudmilla Pavlichenko. He was a young single mother who was a year away from her university degree. After the war, she finished her degree, earned a masters, and worked as a military historian. She died young at age 59, having suffered through years of posttraumatic stress, and alcoholism. She was a sniper and the Soviet red Army, with 309 confirmed kills, and was awarded the hero of the Soviet Union, equivalent to the United States medal of honor. Shortly after the war, the country put her face on a postage stamp. Around 2014 a movie based on her experiences was released. For Ludmilla as well as the young medic Irina, their experiences were hunting for the rest of their lives.
