BTS are 7 members with 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. The rappers were actually the first 3 members of the group and are heavily involved in their song-writing. They do a lot of different genres but their foundation is in hip-hop. There's something for everybody. RM and SUGA (Agust D) actually started out as underground rappers and J-Hope developed his own rap style with them. There are quite a few BTS songs that are mainly or purely rap and all 3 have their own mixtapes and albums as well.

I don't think anyone else mentioned this yet, so I thought I'd tell you guys that Haegeum has two meanings. It is a traditional instrument, but it also means lifting a ban and freeing what's forbidden. Suga (aka Agust D) is one of the three rappers of BTS. There are 4 vocalists in the group as well. I highly recommend looking into BTS if you guys are interested in hip hop and lyricism coz their songs have some fantastic lyrics and wordplay. They write their own music and have a huge discography that spans across a wide range of genres, but you can really count on them to have substance.. I always find layers and layers to appreciate in their music every time I listen to a song.. Right now, BTS are focusing on releasing their solo projects before they have to serve in the military. Two of them have already enlisted (Jin and J-hope). BTS are expected to reunite as a group in 2025.. Awaiting that day wishing for their good health and safety.. But I am also so excited to feast on the solo music they have been giving us coz each of them has been gifting us insane QUALITY ART during this Chapter 2 of their careers.. They've spoken about how they'll use this time of solo work to elevate their group work even further when they come back together.. Kinda gives me anime characters time skip vibes where all the characters go off on their own for a couple of years and then come back levelled up like crazy hehe.. The synergy is going to be insane!

I love that y'all understood what he's saying straight out the gate! AgustD (SUGA/Yoongi) has one of the most incredible thought processes...add in his flow and production and it's ✨chef's kiss✨. He does everything, raps harmonies produces composes and writes. He's breaking worldwide records right now. Just toured here in America and is now in Indonesia ✌💜

Thanks for reacting! With 7 members who individually have widely different tastes in music, the music that BTS puts out is also very diverse. Pop, ballad, hip hop, R&B, some rock, etc... but all of it is excellent and the lyrics are at the forefront of the songs. They do a lot of their own songwriting and producing. Very, very talented group. You won't like everything they do, but you will appreciate the craftmanship. Right now the members are on a break and doing individual releases before they have to do mandatory military service (2 are already enlisted). They will regroup as BTS in 2025.

Bts is not a pop band exploring hip hop. They're a hip hop band that released a few pop songs that got famous simply because of the English content. Listen to Run BTS next. If you're into hip hop, i think you would like that, and it has all the members so you get to see all of them. But there are two bts songs called "run". One is years old. You can listen to that one later, maybe, the new one is Run bts, or Run Bulletproof. After that, there's jhope's album, his lollapalooza performance, and after that you'll start to really sink into the rabbit hole. Can't wait!

I wouldn't call them a hip hop band either, although hip hop is at the heart of everything they do. I think they have evolved to such an extent that there is no label that can be attached to them - BTS IS the genre, as Armys like to say. 💜

He's just finished his solo tour of the USA which was completely sold out weeks before it even started. He's also just smashed Drake's previous record as he sold over 1million Physical copies of his new solo Album D-Day on it's day of release, he's the only Rapper ever to manage that.

loved seeing our min yoongi's (aka suga aka agust d's) lyrics spark a conversation between you two and cause you to pause and think ... yoongi has hip hop roots as an underground rapper and has written/produced all his life - bts has arguably 3 of the best rapper/lyricists today and they've really morphed from their hip hop roots to entirely their own unique genre. hope you all get to explore more and enjoy their vast discography !

I may be redundant, but here goes: They all had solo songs in BTS before 2022 which is when they began solo projects. Vocalists: We don't know if Jungkook and V will release albums or just singles. Jin released a single "Astronaut" with MV just before entering the military. Jimin released a mini album with 2 MV's ("Set Me Free" and "Like Crazy"). The 3 rappers have released albums with MVs already. Suga aka Agust D aka Min Yoongi is the hardcore rapper and is on tour. J-Hope was originally a street dancer, learned rap from RM & Suga, and I view him as a lyrical rapper. RM (debut as Rap Monster) has evolved into a soft rap. His solo album (Indigo) includes 8 collaborations with various artists. My favorite is "Wild Flower" but I listen to the entire album often. I think you'll enjoy their earlier albums (Agust D and D-2, Hope World, and Mono) because the styles are old school rap. Some of the MVs are wild.

Oh the head out the window of the car is also a link to the first song in this series of 3. It's called 'Daechwita' from his previous album D-2. 'Haegeum' is the second in the series and the third is also on this Album D-Day called 'Amygdala'. Each of the 3 songs are not only social commentaries they are also his story.

Lots of rap/hip-hop infused songs, with depth and meaning in BTS 300+ discography. Maybe check out an intro guide that will give you some ideas on who the members of BTS are and the type of music they have. There's a great one by Taylor called A Guide to Bangtan 7 (it's a bit long but Army fans will watch it with you). Also, check out the beginning of Agust D trilogy, Daechwita mv 🔥--> Haegeum --> Amygdala 💜 Thanks for great reaction.

Loved your reaction, especially your interpretation of the lyrics and your appreciation of their depth. This song is part of a trilogy by AgustD- the other two Daechwita and Amygdala came up on your screen at the end. Haegum is the middle of the three. They tell Yoongi's (real name) story and his journey as an artist of ten years from underground rap to dealing with his success as an idol and the backlash/ haters but also coming to terms with his own ambition, his past difficulties and anxieties. Apart from their three songs in English which they didn't write, and released during the pandemic to cheer up Army (their fanbase), BTS are involved in writing and producing their own music, much of which has really heartfelt and meaningful messages often with reference to the S Korean culture. They encourage young people to follow their dreams, stand up to criticism from others, they criticise their very pressurising education system and the way society can disadvantage young people, and they encourage people to love themselves. This all sounds very serious, but they also have great fun and are amazing performers. I would encourage you to react to Taylor's A Guide to the Bangtan 7 which will give you an idea about what the group consists of. Also although their MVs are works of art, their live performances are also worth checking out: Outro Tear, Baepsae, Run BTS, Dionysus, Not Today, Mic Drop and ON are a few suggestions. Borahae.💜

I really liked your reaction and interpretations. BTS started out as a hip-hop group in 2013. Their first few albums were directed to the younger generations encouraging them to find their dreams and to not bow down to parental and societal pressures and expectations. Also speaking on the general struggles of youth; finding oneself and navigating into adulthood. BTS touched on topics like mental health, love, the education system, bullying, and more. Their lyrics, beats, flows, dancing, and vocal abilities really made even their early content outstanding in comparison to other performers at the time. Their later works focused on Self Love and Speaking Your Truth. They also had songs and music videos inspired by a novel called "Demian" touching on growing up, facing temptations, and the blurred lines between good and evil. Later they delved even further into the human psyche, with songs and videos related to the psychologist Carl Jung's theories on our different selves; Our Persona, our Ego, and our Shadow. While not every BTS song is super complex, they do a good job creating music with great catchy sounds and beats and raps and vocals that you wouldnt think have such a deeper meaning but do. Hope to see more of your reactions.💜

BTS were formed as a Hip Hop Group in fact 2 of the 3 Rappers RM and Suga (aka Agust D) were both part of the South Korean underground Hip Hop scene both since they were 13years old. J-Hope before he became a Rapper was a street Dancer (Hip Hop) Every album has Hip Hop numbers they never moved away from their roots. They are not afraid to use other Genre's of music and mix genre's of music either. Every Member is also a Solo Artist plus they are all Song Writers, Composers and Producers all 7 members are Full Members of the South Korean Copyright Association which is very hard to become a full member of. They have full creative freedom unlike most other's within the Kpop Industry. This is why they are huge worldwide mega stars. Enjoyed your reaction lads.

RM (Leader of the BTS and Rapper latest Album 'Indigo' came out end of last year, J Hope's album Jack In The Box also came out last year before his solo Concert at Lollapalooza in the USA where he now holds the record for the most tickets sold for a headline act at Lollapalooza and it was live streamed worldwide. I watched it on the live Stream here in the UK. It's all on youtube in 2 parts via their official channel. Jimin one of the 4 vocalist's has recently released his Album 'Face' and one of the songs debuted on the USA Billboard at No 1 the only Korean Soloist to do that. Jimin is featured in the OST to the latest Fast N Furious film which came out last week. Each member is doing their own thing at the moment as they are all entering to do their Military duties. Jin and J-Hope are already serving so each member will complete their solo responsibilities before entering the military. Then intend to regroup in 2025 when they've all completed their military duties. RM is trying to finish another album before he enter's the military in the next month or so.

BTS debuted as a HIp Hop Idol group, and all seven members are doing solo projects right now, and they are all amazing artists. They all contribute to writing and producing their music, and they are known for their lyricism and stage presence. I haven't seen your reaction to J-Hope's song with J-Cole. I'm assuming that is how you discovered BTS. He also headlined Lollapalooza when J-Cole was also in July 2022. They met each other then. J-Cole is J-Hope's muse, and his name and his first mixtape are inspired by J-Cole. J-Hope started out as a Hip Hop underground dancer. Dancing to J-Cole's songs.

As a newcomer to the scene of BTS my recommendation will be 2021 BTS room live festa. It has a snippets of their songs throughout the years and it is not a long video. You can see the album and the name of the songs below on the left and right side. There is also a guide to BTS by Taylor (fan made) it is longer but it introduced individual members and their solos work as well.

Thank you for your reaction! I love that you pay attention to the lyrics. BTS and its members often write about their experience and their perception of the world. Since you are fans of J. Cole, I think you would enjoy BTS's song "Born Singer", a rework of J. Cole's "Born Sinner". My favorite performance of this song is a stage compilation video on the Brilliant channel.

I love, and bought the CD of Rap Monster, RMs album INDIGO. The 7 members are not together whilst they are doing military service as they age up. So solo projects. RM is the leader of BTS and part of its 4 person Rap line up. He was the first member around which the group was formed. INDIGO is hugely respected in the industry for its creativity and experimental collaborations. Its multi genre approach is made cohesive by the over arching theme and chill vibe. Industry Venerables like Erykah Badu, Anderson Paak, Paul Blanco, Yougene to name but a few make this an album set to be a cult classic and should be listened to as a whole. The album pivots on the surprising CHANGE, but the catchy STILL LIFE, LONELY, and No2 are my favourites though there is not a bad track.
