Well presented and informative video but you got the closed length and overall length mixed up ... I have recently purchased a junzi two tone from twisted assisted limited and can honestly say the quality is excellent. Keep up the good work Regards

I've been carrying knives for 55+ years, most of which I've lost or broken, and nearly all were slip joint knives. Last year I broke the tip of my father-in-law's big Old Timer knife and made the decision to carry a small, fixed blade knife. I know the U.K. has a ban on these but living in the country these fixed blades are fantastic for everything from box opening to foraging, and beyond. The only change I'm making now it to carry a dirt-cheap fixed blade when I leave home because the expensive one, I've been carrying, I don't want to lose or have confiscated off the property. I've also subscribed, liked, and hit the notifications to get more content.

I have some fixed blades too, one of which was my grandfather's that he carried with him during his time in the tank regiment. Thanks for the comment mate.

You're allowed to carry a fixed knife if you have a valid - but specific - reason. It can't just be for general utility, as that's what the exemptions surrounding small-blade slip-joints are for. I'd be careful because you'd have to be quite privileged to only have a fixed blade conviscated from you if you were caught carrying one and deemed to not have a valid reason for doing so. Especially with how the law is cracking down on knife crime. You can be put into jail for up to 4 years simply for carrying a fixed blade unlawfully - regardless of whether you intended to use it as a weapon or not. Although, I do admit that the risk of being stopped and searched for such an item is incredibly rare for an older white man lol.

If the police measure this they will say it is over 3 inches cos they never just measure the cutting edge and i seen that they removed that from the government site

No it still states cutting edge but personally i stick to a blade length of under 3” when I’m carrying anywhere ‘urban’ . Arguing the fine points of the law with some cops may not go well.

@@zakiiibesti There was a case that went through the courts, and it's been clarified that the legislation means from the end of the handle to the tip (rather than just the length of the sharpened edge).

The Junzi is only 71.7mm tip to handle, and the law allows up to 76.2mm (3").

There is supposedly an upgraded 14c28n variant of the junzi set to be released early next year. Are you likely to do a review on it when it drops? Can't get hold of the Junzi D2 as it is sold out unfortunately

Crkt pilar or Lansky madrock both tough little knives. Real steel luna is popular but blade is pretty thin i broke the tip off of mine. Heinnie haynes do their own versions of some uklegals that are good value.

@@Dan-wo4bx I appreciate you listing all those penknives. If it's for emergencies, it probably doesn't matter too much if one breaks the tip off or wrecks the blade. The tip will still be pointy enough to bust a car window, and the edge sharp enough to cut a seatbelt.
