What a beautiful space for Floki and the crew. Also lil Ms Charlotte is doing so much better. Still some healing to do but I think she will be able to go bk to troop when she is fully recovered. ❤🙊❤

Pokie is doing so well !! It is clear how much care is given to them. Without our remarkable staff and volunteers we know what would happen to these dear animals. We love when you explain the monkeys behavior and troop dynamics. 🥰

I think Charlotte may be spinning because of her vision problem in the right eye. In her case I think she spins to keep track of the 360 degrees around her, more so when there is a lot of unknown activity to keep track of. She could easily have detached retina and some pretty good sized floaters that she's trying to figure out too. I'm also interested whether she is verbally communicating because of location of the brain trauma.

I'm pretty sure we heard her vocalise as she was about to exit the carry cage to go straight to the fence when they got into the intro cage.

Thank you so much for the update and the "Floki enclosure" you're so kind. I'm sure everyone appreciated it. He's trying so hard to fit in and keep up with the others. Trying to climb and scale the platforms is great Floki progress! It amazes me how humanlike these monkeys are. I volunteered with young children and when I watched some of the older Floki/ Leila videos and saw the way Floki immediately loved her and took her under his wing and then the arrival Leelo it reminds me of of a dynamic I often saw with little kids. A child would find a "special little buddy" and they'd form a bond. Then a usually crying child would come tell me that "so-and-so "stole" my best friend and he won't play with me anymore". Maybe Leelo will decide to return to the other side of the tunnel and play with all the friends who must miss her. Lol.

would the other monkeys attack charotte because of her disability?

It's very interesting to see Charlotte's right turning mannerism seem to accelerate as she is introduced to monkeys and is obviously excited by or stressed out by the activity. Of course symptoms of damage can be more obvious at a time when stressed one wonders why it had lessened to such an extent while she actually was stressed out by still being cared for by humans. The other questions is whether this is some sort of acquired social routine adopted by her family or more likely her whole troop to exhibit submission when one is not sure of how dominate another monkey is or what rank they are. While it's not necessarily 'classical monkey move' there really is no run that it would have to be.

So funny every time I hear you say oh-ohhs name I look to see what's wrong lol ....love the name

Great episode. I love Thursdays! Charlotte's progress and will to recover is remarkable. Pokie is still very sweet with the sideways facial whiskers. Lovely to see Flokie again doing pretty well and what can you say about the two blind ones (Lela and lilo??) How they orientate themselves so quickly and confidently muck about wrestling up high up on the branches in the cage is astonishing! How much they all have to teach us! Thanks as always for what you do and for providing a video every week. How you find time I don't know but it is appreciated so much. Until next week...!
